First of all. A foreign company invested to build these towers. Second of all poor people cannot afford to live here, if they did then they could easily get a suite of their own. They may one day afford this as they build their income. Lastly if you live anywhere in the world, you'd probably look at this tower and see yourself as a poor individual because you could never afford this either. So don't worry about the poor people, worry about yourself and enjoy the video,.

Erecting building is not the hardest thing to do, but tackling issues such as health care, retirement, legal recourses, etc. are what define progress of a modernize society. For a nation that self-appointed itself as an "up-and-comer developing country" it is sad to find that the heathcare system in VN is almost nonexistent for the average joe. We still have children begging and selling raffle tickets in the streets. Pathetic that nothing is done to eradicate these social-economic problems.

I agree with you. Society as a whole is still in very bad shape in Vietnam. These commercial pics are not what the average Vietnamese enjoy in his/her lifetime. I got a hair cut from a barber in HCMC for only one buck (US). No matter how high the GDP may be, the average man and woman will still not benefit much. There are 84 million of us in Vietnam: the other 99%.

The fact of the matter is most Vietnamese do not pursue advanced education & don't want to work hard for a better life. Right now there are SO many opportunities and money for advanced education. My wife is there and I'm moving there to open a cafe. She has Many friends that have Great jobs & $ because they pursued an education. Corruption is everywhere.

Given all the land you have to work with, it would have been nice to see some decent green-space, rather than just strips of it stuck in the middle of the roadway and dominated by not-very-inspiring fountains. The lack of interest in good public spaces - parks, playgrounds - is sadly typical of the development going on in and around HCMC, and perhaps most of Vietnam.
