I love Clapton yet he is a long way from the "worlds greatest Guitar player". That's just a bullshit immature attitude, Is he better than Carlos Montoya? Segovia? Charlie Christian? Jango Rheinhardt?Chet Atkins? Eric Johnson? Larry Carlton? Al Demeola? Stanley Jordan?
The world of guitar is vast. He may be the worlds most recognized guitar player. He has played with many of the best. B.B.King, Freddy King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, George Harrison, Mark knophler Albert Lee vince Gill
@princeofgary are you freakin kidding me ?! trust me if you ask anyone "who is the greatest guitarplayer in the world?" most of if not all people on the street will say Eric Clapton. - he is, by most, thought of as one of the best guitar players the world has ever seen. personally I see him only topped by Jimi Hendrix and followed by Jimmy Page
Clapton is so damn good in this. Gotta disagree with the poster who said the studio version was better. the solo starting near 3:20 is Clapton at his finest.
Not a bad performance by Eric but his studio version is much better... It was a big hit when it was released too.. Thanks for sharing this one, been looking for a video that closely resembles his studio version, this one came close..

I still don't think he gets the respect he deserves as an all-time great guitarist.

@geoff5665 1985 to be exact. From the Behind the Sun tour. The song was originally on Clapton's first solo album around 1970.
