  • What color is that its beautiful. I don't think i have ever seen one that color. Is it a factory or aftermarket color.

  • @jracer2 late model Toyota Lexus Spectra Blue mika brand is PPG type is DBU paint code is 5473 it is slightly lighter then ford royal blue. Looks dark in the shade or garage, but really pops in the daylight. I got it from this link on Cobra Blue colors it is #3.

  • @jracer2 not letting me post the link for some reason. You can do a search for Cobra blue paint and this was on a site at primequip.

  • Sounds nice...My only concern would be blown motor or head gasket would dump coolant right under the right rear tire and that means bye bye very nice stang

  • @79pacecar347 Confused? A blown motor depending on what happened could put oil down anywhere. A head gasket could/would put coolant in the oil pan or let hot gas into the coolant path. Nothing any different than any other car in that respect. I do have an issue with gear oil escaping out the blow off tube on the rear from high pressures down the axle tube from the Torsen T2R. That really could send me spinning. I have to watch it close. Nothing seems to be fixing that.

  • Carb is the way! Mines still efi and sick of 20yr old sensors shitting the bed on me, slap a carb on and be done with it lol and either AFR or TFS are a great choice. And im bot into the whole homie the clown look but some 18" saleen wheels would look great in that car or some welds of course

  • @jrblues09 sounds good keep me posted, are you going AFR?

  • @91fiveohnotch Probably, but undecided right now. Currently with mildly ported Twisted Wedge Fast as Cast. I haven't dyno'd yet, and it really needs tuned to run much better. Carb setup is nice, but needs work in tuning to get more. Will try to work through that and other fuel concerns first.

  • i bet speed bumps are your worst enemy

  • @FordSVT1313 Not a problem at all right now. Will lower soon with Maier Racing flared fenders and move to much wider tires and drop the coil overs down lower. Lots of clearance right now. suspension is tight and at times a bit noisy though, but on the road course it handles and runs better than my 2012 Boss Clone.

  • @jrblues09 i wouldnt be afraid of a larger head . Everyone told

Me canfield 192s for my 302 were too much but they pull hard through the rpm range

  • @91fiveohnotch Will probably move on up to 205 or 225 heads now with a more radical cam. On the road course I had plenty of power running in 4th and 5th but could now utilize the bigger heads since I probably won't drive it much on the street anymore.

  • i love tht stang....wht rims r those....beautiful

  • @chasemanhill Those are FR500 rims from American Racing. They are 17 x 9 with Nitto 555's on them in a 275/40/17. The 2003 Cobra rims in black look better when I had them on, but would not clear the Brembo's in front. Finding it very hard to find the right backspacing and offset to get past them.

  • Thanks for the input, it sounds like I want to build my engine for a similar application as you are using. I am building my car for spirited mountain driving, which is in about the RPM range you listed. Can you please explain the going under size to increase volume?

What rear end ratio did you go with in your 8.8? I am assuming you probably have a 0.80 final gear in the G-force for road racing. Thanks for the info on your engine, it helps me make choices for mine.

  • @jasprd67 I have 3.73 gears in there now, but will probably move to 3.55 gears. I do have the .80 or .79 final gear in the t5 keeping shifts about the same. Not really looking for overdrive, and will rarely use the 5th anyway, especially if I go with the 3.55's. I went undersize meaning went with a larger valve size or port volume. some say I may give up as much as 50HP this route, but I was looking for a flat torque curve for coming off turns and not much variation. This keeps the port full.

  • @jrblues09 the 190cc head will give you a good amount of velocity into the cylinders, but the fact that the motor is 408CID means it pretty much negates any issues with airflow like that. you could have easily gone with a 205/210cc head and not had any low end issues.

much the same reason an incredibly high strung combo in a 302/306 will feel very mild in a 408W.

with a ~6200 rpm shift point id stay with the 3.73's, the .80 OD will give a nice top end for the straights.

    nice car man.

  • @jasprd67 I have the Trick Flow Fast as Cast 190CC Heads that have been polished but not ported. I went under size to get volume. I probably gave up HP up top and could have gone with the 205 or 225 heads for more HP and flow. This is for NASA road racing and I will not be redlining most of the time, but running around 4-6K RPM.

  • What size heads are you using? I am trying to decide between FAC 190 or the track heat CNC 205 heads for my 408W.

  • damn thats loud

  • Dr. Gas/Spintech exhaust set up with NASCAR boom tubes side exit.
