Instead of making this thing look like a piece of crap, use a piece of 2 part mixing epoxy( you knead it together like a piece of taffy) put the putty between the wi-fi stick and the dish and smooth out all the way around. This turns rock hard in 5 minutes, looks great and lasts for ever. Then you will have a great antenna that you will be proud to show others that you made.

I have played around with DIY parabolic USB wifi antennas. I tried the steamer basket like in this vid. It isn't parabolic. A wok works much better and IS parabolic.

its parabolic if you adjust it. thats why it works better, its tunable.

The bottom of the steamer is FLAT. Therefor is technically not a true parabola. That said, it does work, just not as well as a true parabola.
