I am trying to chant this at least once a day because i have a mind state of an asura, all i seek is to dominate and be in control of everything, i do not consider myself evil but i have incredible hatred and anger towards people who do me wrong to the point where i want to kill them and make them suffer.

I have great respect for the Buddha's teachings - which is why Pure Land concerns me, it seems to go against them. The Buddha taught that there is no external savior. Sorry, not trying to start a religious debate! I liked the video. :)

@theFriendlyHughes I am glad you have made that statement. To explain, the goal of Buddhism is personal enlightenment. You can achieve it through many means (ex. meditation is one of them) hence 84,000 Dharma. PureLand is one of them. To enter Amitabha's land, you have to concentrate chanting his name, not praying nor worshipping. So in a sense, it is another form of meditation. Please know that there are no external aid but your own effort coinciding with Amitabha's vows to go there.
@Aznguide In Mahayana Buddhism the goal is "personal" Enlightenment as well as "universal" Enlightenment, for the sake of of sentient beings in samsara. Devotion , faith & concentration are very important part of Amitabha Buddha chanting. Those who chant with these 3 qualities are surely reborn in Pure land of Infinite Light/Life. @Asifk88 I kind of have a story that relates my good friend, I am new at chanting and I deeply enjoy chanting Ohm (Aum), I felt I was not quite doing it right, and while chanting I asked Buddha please teach me to chant, a little later a very quite subtle voice replied "do not try just relax and let the (Aum) come out naturally." I did this and felt much improvement. Kind of makes one think the Buddhas are not that far from us.

i have read , there are no 2 lands , they only exsist in one's mind . if the mind is enlightened then there is pure land , if the mind in unpure , there is un-pure land.

One time I was half sleeping and I chant, Namo Amituofo and I heard a deeper voice of buddha within me, chant "Namo Amitaha, Amitaha, Amitaha. So, from now on I will say Namo Amitaha.
Most important is to chant with devotion and concentration. Pronunciation is secondary. Buddhas understand anyhow, esp. if chanted by vegetarians. Together we pray and meditate.

The Universe, according to Buddha, is governed by one single umbrella law based on the
science and rhythm of cause and effect, and he said that mankind would eventually prove this.
This law which shoul be chanted by the human voice is called;
Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.
By chanting aloud every day for at least 10 minutes, one can put oneself into perfect rhythm with the

Once time I meditate and chant Namo Amitabha Buddha, I saw Amitabha Buddha in my mind, after that i felt so happy :) I Vow to be reborn in pureland of Bhagavate Amitabhaya Buddha.

One time I was half sleeping and I chant, Namo Amituofo and I heard a deeper voice of buddha within me, chant "Namo Amitaha, Amitaha, Amitaha. So, from now on I will say Namo Amitaha.

NAMO AMITABHA
Most important is to chant with devotion and concentration. Pronunciation is secondary. Buddhas understand anyhow, esp. if chanted by vegetarians. Together we pray and meditate.

TY for clearing that issue up for me! I had my first meditation session with my hero Su Nim and Yun last Sunday and we chanted and meditated. I know what i was supposed to be chanting but got confused at times, Now i know!

Stillness of body, speech and mind is great support for connecting oneself with enlightened energy of Dharmakaya, present in every being as innate Buddha nature. This is the main practice of Sound*Light of Dharmata in our Atiyoga/Dzogchen essence Lineage of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism. Awareness is important part of Atiyoga training.
