i really liked the scene at 1:43 where it clearly shows the double effects of an atomic bomb.

first the Blinding flash of heat and light, causes the house to catch on fire (almost instantly) and moments later, the house being blown away from the super fast winds (how this was caught on camera, I have no idea... i suspect that this maybe fake).

I've lived in Las Vegas all my life. Most of the radiation is blocked by natural terrain. That is if the nuke is not atmospheric. The main problem is the overload of radioactive iodine in your thyroid and death of bone marrow. If you see a bright light, start downing stable iodine. Especially your kids. Also don't drink milk or any other dairy product. Wear pollen masks. Trying to get away won't help much. The radioactive material will float in the atomosphere for hundreds of miles.
