Point taken. I'm a paraglider pilot and know exactly how profoundly thermals are affected by land triggers. Grain fields, especially when being cut make ripping thermals as if I'm over a baking rock face. Tree's just store the heat and let it out very gently in the day, grass is also a poor thermal source in itself.
