The main thing that can be taken from the story of my family's ultimate survival, which led to my being born, is that a Turkish friend of the family told them not to get on a certain train (which led into the desert) and to get on another one which led to jerusalem. All humans are really part of the same family.

@lonelymoon77 i read some posts here, and i have a story,a lot of turks helped armenians and hid their in their homes taking a gr8 risk for their lives themselves. they used to live together in villages like one race, not all turks supported ossmanians. anyways either we like it or not. turks and western armenians are the closest on diff levels. im from erzurzm and wish to visit it one day. cheers!

I grew up in Istanbul and my familys' best friends were Armenians and also Greeks, their children were my best friends too, we were all mixed together.Listening to this kind of music,especially Jivan Gasparyan brings me back to happy memories and I feel the sadness in my heart. I hope you visit Erzurum one day. I've never been to the east of Turkey but supposed to be very nice. :)

@reyiz96, I'm not sure about that because at one of the museums here at New York (can't remember exactly which one, perhaps, the natural history museum, but I could be wrong) it is exhibited at the corner of turkish artifacts and such and it is labeled as "turkish national instrument". so, nothing is safe with them, they'll steal whatever they feel is good, just like they stole everything that's considered "turkish" from us and the Greeks. At least we can't blame them for having bad taste ...
I felt in love with this instrument when I heard it in the "Planet Earth" series by BBC.. for once it makes you forget about the terrible world we live in..and makes you drown into the nature's beauty and old culture of people long time ago..when this world was a better place..

Duduk is armenian and don't try to make confusion. There are also armenians, who sing mugham very well, but it does not mean that mugham is armenian, mugham is azeri and I respect mugham as a great piece of art and culture of Azerbaijan and please, respect duduk as a piece of art and culture of Armenia, cause that is fact and confusion is not good. This music is for everybody in the world, listen and enjoy it and don't fight more, its senseless.

My great grandparents died in Armenia in 1915, the Turks have'm walking in the desert, leaving them to die of thirst, hunger, despair. Why? Why? Because they were Christians and considered less than nothing as Armenians. This is genocide is genocide and it has not been recognized by the Turkish government. Hi from Germany. I was in Armenia this summer - wonderful people and country - made music wiht an armenien singer - it was such a wonderful feeling to make something together with someone in a very different part of the world. Music is a connecting link for people all over the world.
We have also turkish friends here in Germany - all cultures of the world are so interesting. We can learn from each other and make friends for preventing any violence or even war.

Duduk is armenian and don't try to make confusion. There are also armenians, who sing mugham very well, but it does not mean that mugham is armenian, mugham is azeri and I respect mugham as a great piece of art and culture of Azerbaijan and please, respect duduk as a piece of art and culture of Armenia, cause that is fact and confusion is not good.
