  • This is rare a video with a real russian ak-47 (milled receiver)! Almost always people call akm (stamped) the ak-47 and very often even other variants and deriditives ak-47s like valmet m76 which doesn't look anything like an ak47 :p

  • pip! pip! pipipipipipipipipip! gotta love it.

  • Why are they wearing earmuffs...?

  • @TheApana

The camera doesn't do much justice to the sound of the suppressor, but its still probably very loud. Its not going to make it extremely quiet, its just going to lessen the sound and often changes it to more of a thud than a bang. That, and in case other people start shooting too.

  • @SuperFunTimeShow Actually it probably is pretty quiet as the film suggest. Just judging by the size of the suppressor. Also 7.62x39 is pretty damn quiet compared to a higher pressure round like 5.56 or 5.45. That big slow 7.62 bullet has more advantages than just knock down, its alot quieter too.

  • The shock-wave from the supersonic bullet is still very bad for your ears. If the ammo is subsonic (under about 1000 fps) you can forgo the earmuffs with a suppressor.

  • i can honestly say, if you shot a grizzly with a 5.56 or a 7.62x39, and its not a head shot, IT WILL BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU!!!! WHEN YOUR GOING LARGE GAME, USE ATLEAST A 308!!!! I MY SELF USE A 300 WInchester Magnum

  • @motlencore89 A 5.56x45 and 7.62x39 wasn't made to kill bears, but humans.

  • @motlencore89 who the hell woud be stupid enough to hunt bear with a 223 (Im pretty sure its ilegal to use somthing that small) and if I has attacked by a bear Id just make due with whatever is on hand and just keep shooting till one of us goes down

  • @motlencore89 If you are hunting grizzly with a non full auto 5.56 or 7.62, do your self a favor and remove your front site post, that way it won't hurt as bad when the bear shoves the rifle up your ass.

  • @davism4a1 lmfao!!!

  • Are those Australian DPDUs?

  • dont silencers need to be replaced after a while?

  • @roguecj310 usually just cleaned. Unless you get a baffle strike, then you replace the baffles if it's serviceable.

  • "a slight psychological reliability advantage".

There is no other that comes close in terms of reliability.

  • wew thats god damn silent

    just like whispering

  • is that 7.62 or 5.56?

  • Say's it's an ak-47 so most likely 7.62

  • obviously 7.62 look at the recoil. the 5.45 kicks like a pea shooter. Especially with a can.

  • No shit, I was answering his question. No need to educate me.

  • Puts fear in them? Well if you're getting shot at, your probly not gonna say, its not an AK, I'll be fine, and whats so scary about them? its a decent carbine, but theres MUCH more powerful and definitely accurate firearms out there, my friend..... I'd rather get shot at by an AK than an actual .30 caliber rifle like the M14 or a garand, LOL

  • no joke... the 7.62x51 the 30.06 or the soviet 7.62x54R full power rifle cartridges command FAR more respect when they speak... since those can kill you (with accuracy) half a mile (or more) out.

  • no shit who wouldnt but since those are not used i war such as afghan and iraq then really no one gives a shit if there stronger or not the main rifles in versus mode there are AK-47 m-16 and m4 and form those i definetly wont choose the AK-47 thus giving AKthe upper hand plus the AK-47 is definetly better at armor penetration then any 5.56 peice of bird shit

  • Yes, the 7.62x51 and 7.62x54R are used in modern warfare! not so much the .30/06, but I'm sure there are a couple out there, and sure the 7.62x51 and x54R penetrate armor better than the 5.56 (most of the time) but thats not a good comparison, like saying a .50 bmg normally penetrates better than a .308... DUR! but the 7.62x39 actually isn't so great, especially with armor, given the same bullet core material, the 5.56 and 7.62x39 penetrate armor at about the same thickness....

  • yeah but once again the war doesnt have .50 BMG's .... often n even if it does there completly different classes of weapons n do not count these three AK- m16 m4 are all military issued assualt rifles made for easy use compact easy to carry the most used weapons of war at this time thats why they are being compared

  • You are right about the .50s, but I didn't say they were used for infantry, I was just comparing different cartridges, like you were, and the M-16 and M-4 can't be compared, because they are essentially the exact same things, the only difference is the adjustable stock, and 4 inches of barrel, and the AK platform's only advantage is mostly a slight psychological reliability advantage, both the 5.45 and 7.62(x39) are anemic compared to the full power rifle rounds like the 5.56 and 7.62(x51)!

  • now i have no idea about the AK-47's used now a days which are probably the same but my dad was in the soviet army back in the 70's 80's and he said they could attack scopes or other equipment n the gun would accuratly hit up to 300 yards idk about what i hear now a days but what i do know is that americans love to overly exagerate the bad things about items competing with there own im sure the accuracy on the msot poopular gun in the world is not to bad n even if it is the round makes up forit

  • then they were using AKM's the improved version of the 47, got better accuracy on it.

  • You might be able to get acceptable accuracy out of an AK to 300, but 300 is pushin it!, and at that range, the 123 grain bullet isn't going to have very much energy left, so you would need a good center-mass hit, but accuracy isn't the AKs strong point, so it not being a tack-driver isn't too big of a deal.. and I'm not exaggerating, I have used a couple friends AKs, and all makes are the same thing, and I just don't care for them, yet some people love them, whatever floats your boat I guess ;)

  • yeah well.... idk about you but the AK-47 being the most deadly weapon this planet has ever witnessed with its extremly low price extremly easy use n extremly deadly its a marvel that made such a long time ago over 50 years ago it is still number 1

  • There is no weapon thats deadly, its who wields it, the AK is a capable weapon, and it is cheap and simple, but would you rather have a child, or someone with no firearm know-how shooting AT you? or a trained/skilled marksman with a somewhat complicated precision firearm shooting you? LOL

  • no the person wielding it shows how effective the weapon is because a professional has a bb gun and i have a ak-47 doesnt mean the professional will win a gun battle the AK is still superior maybe not effective as much but superior

  • If a firearm is ineffective, then its sure as hell not superior, and bringing a BB gun to a gunfight is like bringing a knife, HORRIBLE comparison, but I'm done arguing, and both are fine, I'm just saying consider both, and don't just think the AK is superior because everyone else does... if you really like the AK, then use it and practice will make you better with it, and I'll keep using my AR because its what I prefer, unless you're over 600 yards away, then I'm grabbin my .300 win mag! ^_^

  • Meant ballistics gel. I see your not much an AK fan, I am because I own two of them including a Pre-ban but I also own a Bushmaster AR as well. You would be suprised just how capable the 7.62X39 is when fired from a bolt action hunting rifle. It makes a pretty good deer catridge.

  • Sure the 7.62x39 can do the job, but I could also take a grizzly with a 5.56, but that doesn't mean I'm going to try to... get my point? and why have an acceptable deer round when you can have an excellent deer round? come on, at least get a .308, I'm a .300 win mag fan myself, but 308 and 30-06 are all great rounds....

  • You make a good point, I do not use a 7.62 for deer as I would rather use my 30-30 or 30-06 for the job. I was just pointing out that the 7.62X39mm is a good cartridge when fired from a good barrel.

  • Yea, same for the 5.56, I could take a deer or larger with it, but I'd rather use my .300 just in case I miss the vitals.....

  • The 30-30 and 7.62x39 give very similar ballistics, and the 7.62x39 has a flatter trajectory.

The only reason a .308 or 30-06 is good for deer hunting is for extended ranges. Otherwise a SP 7.62x39 is perfectly fine.

  • just because you can buy a gun doesnt make you a fan...

  • I agree, that wasn't the point I was trying to make though.

  • @123SupArman123 I don't think it's an exaggeration on either side, merely a different perspective. I used to debate this with a professor of mine when I studied in Ukraine (he had served in the Soviet Army as well). AK's were primarily fired in fully-automatic and are accurate to about 300 Meters, but M16A2's are routinely fired at 500 Meters (and occasionally at greater distances in battle). They both have their strengths and soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines on both sides have adapted to them.

  • The 7.62x39mmcan penetrate an engine block as is way more capable than the 5.56 depending on what kind of bullet core is used. The 5.56 can cause more damage but the 7.62 has better range and stopping power due to the fact it is a 30 caliber round not a 22 like the 5.56. The .30/06 is no longer used in military service since the end of WW2.

  • 7.62x39 has better range and stopping power? first of all stopping power isn't a real factor, its more dependent on shot placement than terminal ballistics, and even then, the 7.62x39 is absolutely pathetic, wounding from it is similar to a .45 round, and even the .308 won't penetrate a normal engine block, unless its a tungsten-core AP round, of course that also depends on the engine block, but given the same variables, the 7.62x39 is equal to the 5.56 except for soft tissue and trajectory

  • Perhaps, but saying its anemic just like the 5.45 seems off. First of all the 5.45 is capable of tumbling which creates catastrophic damage in flesh and ballistic. Similiar to the 5.56 except in terms of power and range.

  • thats a cool sound for a supressor. If I didnt know the difference, at first I would think it was some sort of bird. Cool :)

  • Please someone tell me what is : milled ak.

  • instead of the receiver being made from stamped metal, it is one solid piece of metal milled out.

  • Hand made?

Milled means 'machined', the old ak47 uses a milled block of billet steel, using machining tools.

Its still a mass produced receiver, its certainly not customised or unique.

  • milled means that a machine created the shape of the gun, many AK's are stamped, and not milled. Milled AK's are preferred, imop

  • reciever of gun is cut out of a solid piece of metal when its milled, normally cheap aks are stamped out of metal, a milled receiver is better because it is more solid

  • what time suppresor wholes, rectangles oval which type if you know how suppressors work this iwll be easy question

  • who the hell cares, go get a permit and buy a ready made silencer that is easy to clean. in my state you need a permit and a few hundred dollars to legally own a suppressor. You can even purchase legal weapons with factory installed threads. I don't think active military or national guard even needs a permit.

  • hang on.. is that the actual PBS can, that the russian specnaz was using in Afghanistan and Chechen conflicts or not?

  • Is it regular or subsonic ammo?

  • Really quiet for a K. What can is it?

  • How are milled receivers better? Do they make the gun more accurate because of the extra weight?

  • they are more durable then stamped sheet metal..

  • they are also more brittle hahahhahaha u dont know anything get an arsinal friggin stamped reciver ak and ull out shoot without break s

  • It's more accurate not necessarily more durable. The reason being tighter tolerances in the receiver. This makes the parts lock up more consistently. Milled receivers are cool but i'm not sure they are worth the extra 500 bucks.. After all it's just an ak.. Never were intended to be super accurate, just bomb proof and low maintenance.

  • Hell yes they are worth more, since the last messege I've typed I've picked up a milled AK and it's one of the highest quality AKs you can get. I can't say for sure if it's more accurate then a stamped AK but it is more durable. The milled recievers are made from a 5-6 pound block of steel compared to a stamped AK which is made from a thin pieces of sheet metal put together.

  • cool man, i just use a gp1975. it was contracted out for century arms and has a thicker piece of stamped metal. low tolerances eat up every type of ammo i can find. i was looking at a czech milled ak and they wanted 1K for it. not sure i would beat the hell out of that one in the snow and mud!

what one did you end up with? my next project on her will be a quad rail system with a surefire on one side a green laser on the other. handle on the bottom and aimpoint on the top. should be fun!

  • The Czechs don't make AKs they make VZ 58s. A tactical AK like the one your making would be pretty sweet. My AK was made by Vector Arms.

  • i say ak to make it easy with all the variants. most people dont know the difference between a legend and a saiga.

    Vector makes some nice stuff.

Check out tromix, my next shotgun..

  • I did a homebuilt stamped version. At first my rivets started coming loose, due to a cheap rivet kit from poor grade steel. I did welds instead. 10,000 rounds later and lots of bumpfiring, my stamped receiver with welds is holding together good as the day I finished it. I built my entire rifle for less than a milled receiver cost (About $225).

  • is that the sonic crack that i'm hearing??? can you buy subsonic 7.62x39 ammo commercially?

  • Yeah I think it is. I haven't seen sub-sonic ammo in 7.62x39. Would be interesting if they did have any.

  • yea, i agree with twospiritbear. they went back to the milled setup because of lacking industrial capabilities. milled receivers are better, but generally heavier and more costly to produce. new versions of the AK are not uncommon in the milled setup

  • The milled receiver AKs are rare! They made those back in the day when their stamping technology was so poor they couldn't make a stamped metal receiver. Cool video, stay safe, I pray for you guys!

  • Stamping technology has been around since the industrial revolution. The Russian's had all the means possible to make a good stamped receiver, but they did not do it mainly because they wanted the Ak-47 to be more rugged. Although you were right that a stamped receiver is rare.

  • Sorry, but you're wrong. They tried doing a stamped receiver initially but couldn't produce the parts with enough accuracy to enable welding on the ejector rails properly. They went to a milled receiver because they had no other choice. So they did NOT have "all the means possible" to do what they wanted to do, otherwise they would have done it. Nice try at spin, but read your history.

  • no, milled recievers are rare, not stamped, lulz
