@abiwoollcott25 Actually, Madagascar was the rip off. The Wild started production first but Madagascar came out earlier due to the inferior animation (go look at Madagascar and see how graphically simple it looks in comparison). It ruined the The Wild.

it IS like Madagascar.. one more time a production company copies the other, we will never know who was the first one to find the idea but what is sure is that the next one wanted its part of the cake as well.... (bugs life vs. ants, sharks tell vs. nemo..)

It's a fact that for all those movies Disney began production first and came up with their stories. Dreamworks is notorious for hearing of a story and making a not-as-well-animated copy for quick release before the Disney trailers begin. It didn't work for Bug's Life and Nemo as they were still popular, unfortunately it did for The Wild.
