I would like the English version that does not use the voice actors who voice Rock Steady and Bee Bop from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I have watched a few minutes of the version that uses the above mentioned actors and they ruin the film with there cartoonist voices.

akira is the movie i watched the most of alll movies. i couldnt get enough off the gapigs every time i watched it i found something new in the graphics. the story was also complex so everytime i saw it again i discovered something new!!

What did the little girl and boy mean in the ending whenever they're talking to Kaneda while he's flashbacking...i dont remember what they said off the top of my head but some of their words were cut out.

I'm not sure, but I think maybe they meant that when they became stronger they would be able to return and possibly change/fix the world alongside Akira and Tetsuo.

Holy shit! I am nearly fanatical about Radiohead and Akira. I never would have seen the potential match up. Akira's backstory matches the mood of the song well, but I still wouldn't have thought the film could.

Dunno, i just couldnt get into the story. And, i had alot of un answered questions.

Any chance I could help clear something in particular up? If not, no worries. I do understand what you are saying though the show left a lot unspecified, I think, on purpose. It's like the movie convention of starting a scene on the punchline of a joke, by not telling the joke (only showing the characters laughing) it becomes funnier than any actual joke could be. In this case it wasn't humor, but I suppose the existential quandries behind the true nature of existance... and a laser gun.

If you read the comics it's more straightforward. Briefly, people are evolving, and the governments of the world want to harness the power of these new, almost super humans. However, there are groups who know and rebel (The group Kay is with.) Akira was the most powerful of these evolved children, and world war 3 started as a result of him being potentially a lethal weapon. Tetsuo taps into the power of it through Takashi, and can't control it.

Akira is one of the best manga films ever, mainly because of its use of colour and it moves away from using dark shades for night time scenes. The manga collection is so much better tho.

There was a English Akira which was based in South Korea but it has different characters. Its very rare but you can get it on Ebay.
