I will never forget the day when he and the Wings won the Cup. It was such an amazing moment. I will never forget the day of his accident. I cried and hoped that it wasn't as serious as it turned out to be. I believed that the Wings, despite the huge hole without Vladdie would repeat as Stanley Cup Champs. I will never forget the day they repeated and Steve placed the Cup on Vladdie's lap. I cried seeing that. Number 16 forever.
This was a beautiful moment then and it's still a beautiful moment now. Vlady was and always will b 1 of the best defenseman to play for the wings. He is still loved by wings fans today and he is missed by wings fans today. We still believe and I think that is what had helped Vlady get better aside from his drive to get better.
The VLADINATOR is the one that I remember as my most respected player in the NHL. I wear Vladimir Konstantinov's jersey to every game that I go to proudly and everyone I run into still remembers who he is. He will NEVER be forgotten!
@BauerHockeyVachon he was in a bad car accident along with Slava Fetisov and a Red Wings trainer. they were in a limo about 6 days after they won the 1997 Cup, and the limo driver was drunk when he crashed. Konstantinov has slowly gotten better over time, but was in a wheel chair for like 8 years
This is the BEST "History will be made" commercial. Hubby and I are in tears now. It was truly a beautiful sight when the Wings won and I will never forget it.
This gives me tears everytime I watch it. It is simply perfect. Every Detroit fan can remember where he was the morning they heard about this tragedy, and every Detroit fans remembers where they were when they saw Vladimir smile and touch the Cup the following year. Never forget; always believe.
@BJaMsWorld Even as a Colorado Avalanche fan, I still say this gets to me more than Sakic handing it off to Bourque (a gesture many thought was the classiest ever). Long love Vladimir Konstantinov.

@MannyK8705 The way I remember it, the driver was high on weed, not that it makes any difference.
