  • How about a baked potato with cheese? How about baked french fries?

  • if you eat paleo right, then you shouldn't need any supps, especially a multi v. I eat a slightly modified paleo and dont use vitamins because if your eating real food and getting real exercise, you don't need fake sustenance.

  • humans did not always eat meat.Humans were not meant to eat meat. When human spieces for came about they ate plants and fruit nuts, grains, vegetables not meat.

  • @469jasper YOU ARE WRONG! Humans always ate meat. Even gorillas and chimps eat meat.

  • @469jasper YOU ARE WRONG! Humans always ate meat.

  • for 2 million years at meat this information is hard to believe

  • That pyramid misses fruit and berries... They ARE needed. And they should be eaten alone. They're digested really fast and combining them with other food will slow down their digestion.

Also animal food should really not be the foundation of the pyramid, if the steps are meant as a means of quantification. You need a LOT more "greens" to offset the acidity of animal food, or you'll be just as much in a state of acidosis as those people who eat a typical north american diet

  • Meat is not a strain on our digestive system at all, its what our digestive system was designed to process. We have nothing in common with herbivores and omnivores when it comes to digestion. Our digestive tracts are, however remarkably similar to most other carnivourous mammals... short version = we're meant to eat meat, with few natural plants as supplements when regular food sources are limited.

  • @ yarus1

This is simply not true at all. Do you have the sharp fangs of a carnivore? Can you easily bite through large chunks of raw flesh? Whats easier to chew and digested faster, a piece of meat or a piece of fruit? You get the hint...?

We are omnivores, we are meant to eat meat yes, but in moderation. If you think meat should make up the bulk of your food then you're setting yourself up for problems.

  • @nada12345 some cultures of people survived solely on meet throughout centuries(eskimo), so people can live, lead healthy lifes with only meat. Eating organs of animals and fish can help deliver all goodies needed by the body. The problems your talking about are associated with eating processed food and GRAINS

  • @nada12345 fangs are for bleading the living in fact they are not for removing meat at all. they are designed for tearing though the meat and leaving it on the bone. you knew this already but ignored it because you couldnt use it to foward your agenda. good luck eating the starch sugar diet. i really mean that. we have 7 billion examples of what that does to a man.

  • @Yaris 1 i have been on this diet 20 days strict. i lost just a few pound. im 6 feet three inches tall and was 275 ok im now 265 when i look in the mirror i cant believe the difference. I'm not exercising But these huge muscle mass is starting to show. some how im loosing only fat and not muscle mass. is that normal for very large men. last time i dropped 50 pounds it was mostly man meat i think.

  • I suspect (but it causes me cognitive dissonance) that you can actually eat too much fruit and overload on its sugars - which can lead to skin problems such as acne. Fish, meat and vegetables should probably be the staple foods, and fruit, nuts and seeds should be secondary and somewhat moderated.

I also disagree strongly with the point that each and every meal should contain nuts, meat, seeds etc. What the hell - that's too much of a strain on the digestive system, not to mention unrealistic.

  • "2. Only eat unprocessed foods that started out alive"

    and then you say

"4. Supplements with Fish Oil, Glutamine, Magnesuim, and a Multi Vitamin daily"

Don't those two points contradict each other?

  • In a perfect world no one needs supplements. But our soil is man made so food quality goes down, most people have nutritional deficiencies which lead to big problems down the road, so supplementation is needed in the modern world for optimum health.

  • Absolutely nothing wrong with fish oil. The smaller you're omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid ratio, the better. Glutamine I think is OK, especially if you exercise a lot. Multi-vitamins though are pretty much useless if you're eating a lot of fruits and veggies.

  • The main problem isn't carbs. It's the lectins in grains and legumes. They pass through your GI tract and cause all sorts of problems. Carbs are fine from the right sources, and in moderation.

  • They didn't take vitamins, but they did eat everything organic, with out polluted soil, and with out breathing in fumes at every street side.

So we live in different worlds now

  • I didn't know that Neanderthals took multivitamins...

  • so no fruit?

  • He lists fruit in the beginning.

  • Good stuff

  • The thing with supplements is that 90% if the population is magnesium deficient because of the soil we use. Which means we don't get all the nutrients from the foods we eat which cause other deficiencies. It comes down to the fact that unless you live on a farm, it can be difficult eat the same quality of food that people use to eat and get as much nutrients from them. If you just start doing the paleo diet, you likely have some deficiency issues due to a history of bad eating.

  • if your eating correctly(mostly veggies) a multi is unnecessary, i havn't heard much about magnesium or glutamine and fish oil is great for lubricating the joints.

  • I don't see why you'd need supplements...totally goes against the principles of the paleo diet

  • The intro is classic. I love the fat guy

  • Paleo Diet you say. I do like Cave Men

  • Pass this along if you know someone who's health you care about.

  • This makes sense.

  • Thanks for the pointing this vid out. I like the fat Egyptian.

  • Wicked video. I want to show this to some of my wheat eater friends.
