One of the best I've seen.... I love your Joscelin, Selig, Ysandre... However, I am stuck with wanting Aishwarya Ray for Melisande and Robert Downey Jr. for Barquiel, and I prefer Gaspard for Baudoin... Still haven't made up my mind about Phedre herself, she's the hardest.

I really can't see Anne Hathaway as Phedre, she's too... "classic," I guess. I'd vote Morena Baccarin instead.

I think Melisande, Selig, Hyacinthe are perfect, Phedre and Joscelin are good, but Barqiel is supposed to be way older- in his late thirties/ early forties. That guy would be good for Baudoin, though. Great song as well!!

I just can't see Hathaway in that role-maybe I've seen princess dairies one too many times.:)-she just doesn't have that carriage about her. but I really like your choices for Josceline, Selig and Melissande. oh and I love the idea of Ben Barnes for Hyacinthe

Delauney and Barquiel should both be played by older actors. Ysandre needs to be played by someone who looks younger (she was just a teenager when she took the throne). But otherwise this is very good

In my opinion, Delaunay doesn't need to be older. At the beginning of the novel, he is quite young.. about 30.

Drustan..hmm..good one. James McAvoy, he could play it, or hyacinth. Viggo Mortensen i'm thinking as Anafiel. maybe, monica belluci as Phedre. Peter Saarsguard (sp) is a chameleon, i think he could play a role somewhere.

Phedre e Joscelin sono perfetti, anche se non avrei mai pensato a Anne Hathaway visto che l'ho vista recitare solo ruoli "semplici" come quello di Mia in "Pretty Princess"...però potrebbe essere un'ottima Phedre! ^_^ Josh Hartnett come Delaunay non ce lo vedo proprio, troppo giovane... Per Melisande ci vedevo benissimo Angelina Jolie, anche se l'attrice che hai trovato tu è più che passabile!

I'm still not 100% sure Ann Hathaway could pull off Phedre, but she looks the part and that's half the battle.

I never considered Anne Hathaway for Phedre, but if she could pull it off she would be great. I really liked your casting for Joscelin, Hyacinthe, and Waldemar Selig as well. I've also pictured Angelina Jolie as Melisande, but I've never seen Anna act or anything. I think I would like a blonde Jacques for Alcuin. Ysandre, Barquiel and Delaunay were a little off to me though.

I enjoy a lot of these choices, but Anne Hathaway as Phedre doesn't work, she's pretty but I don't see her as a world famous courtesan and the raunchy lypiphera that is she is! Also I would picture Barquiel L'Envers as someone a little older because he Ysandre's uncle, but you can age someone with makeup. Back to Ysandre I personally see her as a someone a litle older, more mature, but her and Phedre are around the same age aren't they? Oh well.

Delauney at the begining of the Novel has 30 year and Josh Hartnet now have 29... and in the Phedre's country the people don't show the real age but they seem younger so...

Generally I think most of these actors would be miscast and overall there are way too many Americans

(Carey's world draws upon Europe for it's inspiration so I think it's fitting that Europeans should play these roles)
