  • I like this one because it's the original. I hate When people start using same beats or redoing songs from the past.

  • i agree. The original is always the best. But you have to agree the Jersey Boys do a very good job on their songs.

  • I like both versions. This one is awesome...I don't think Madcon was trying to outdo the original....if anything it was paying homage to the original because we all wanted to hear the original after hearing their version...... I'm looking into the 4 seasons now bc I likey.

  • madcon and original = 2 good songs ;]

  • When i heard this on the Adidas advert, i thought it was a Black guy singing lol guess not.

  • the adidas cover is from the macdon version. which is black people. theres a little difference between the 2

  • Nah I know of the Madcon version, but that version wasn't used in the Adidas advert...it was definatly this version on here. But both are good.

  • the originial is even better as the song from madcon^^ I love it^^

  • I hate people remaking songs like this. Don't think you can top the original. The only reason you're making money is because some people don't know the original.

  • this version I like better than the madcon one idk why.

  • Awesome playlist..

  • i like the turkish begùm xd

  • Good song , the quality's not as good as the new 1....i still think they both could be better!!

  • lol it's a bboy song

  • which sanatoruium have you escaped from?

  • What is the matter with you? I'm just giving my opinion! Why on earth do you react like that?

  • Until they start rapping at least.

  • yah no shit lol this is 40 years old, but imo still better, plus its not a complete ripoff of someone elses work

  • Shut up!!!

if there was no original track then the copycat does'nt have a leg to stand on!!!!

    get what a mean!! TITHEAD!!!

  • Ok now in normal English. If you talk like this I can't understand a word of what you're saying.

  • FAntastic! Thanks!

  • the song edited by madcon

    but i like this orginal!

  • awesome song! go see jersey boys!

  • this is better then beggin cuz its the original and its a nice breakin song=]

  • then why did your comment get 5 thumbs down?

  • not

  • ....,class and quality wrapped up in one GREAT track !!!

  • N.I.C.E.

  • gayço

  • got the album

  • Hey do you know the year of the album?

  • 1967

  • will let u know tomorrow, computer problems right now

  • Hi, sorry similar cover but compilation by telstar 1988! sorry about that

  • madcon didnt even do a cover of this they just sang what was already a club remix of the song from 2006 pilooski. madcon are just awful

  • wow now i know that these dudes made this song first, madcon totally sucks lol. its exactly the same shit exept its 2 black dudes signing and they hardly changed the sounds...thumbs up frankie valli..thumbs down madcon

  • It's called a cover, dick.

  • You can hear it's copied from pick-up

  • classic 60's soul music, i first heard it in 1981 following the soul and mod revival. still enjoy it 28 years later.

  • thats sweet the original is as good as madcons version just madcon is a little more modern

  • vaay orginal song in 1967

  • this was anotha classic example of when blacks made the song and whites had to cover it (no racist ova here, its the TRUTH,research)

  • Huh? I'm having trouble understanding what your post is trying to say.

  • really? you sure frankie valli wasnt the original? dumbass

  • Sorry, this song was made in 1967 by Frankie Valli who is white.

  • i thought frankie valli was white and he sang the original unless u take timeline backward and see that 2008 came before 1960s?

  • Composed by Bob Gaudio and Peggy Farina.

Bob Guadio was in The Four Seasons.

    Definately not black.

Did you assume so because it has a Soul sound?

  • apparently he thought madcon made the original?

  • great song!!

  • the one from madcon makes me sick. nobody can ever be as amazing as the four seasons!

  • 4 tops - reach out....only song i can think of to contend with this

  • every song and tune and sound has got it´s time. i think this a very a good one.

i like it as much as i like the madcon version.

  • damn these white boys got themselves some soul!!!!!

  • hahaha hell yea northern soul baby!!

  • i think both versions are good. the one by madcon is just a newwer rythm then this one. they sound pretty much the same idk why everyone is fighting over which version is better. last time i went to europe the madcon version was very popular though.

  • madcon version got no balls. also those guys (madcon) cut all emotions from the song.

  • Madcon's version Is just a Cookie cutter copy of this one. The guy didn't even try to change the tune or make the son his own.

  • i mean frankie valli is amazing but....... madcon kinda pumped it up. even though this is a classic! and yes this may be "better" but madcon had a pumped up kinda feeling

  • i think this is better than the remix, it's a great song over all though

  • madcon atleast had some taste to cover this song...although i agree this song is better

old songs just have this sort of swagger...

    like me

  • the newer version is good but this one just blows it to shit

  • so much better than the newer one.

  • Madcon's whole style is chump... this one IS THE FUCKING DON! so much heavier than madcon.. if u dont see that then you have no taste , soul or style and theres no fucking hope for you! FRANKIE IS A TRUE DON!

  • there will never be anything greater then music from the old times, :3 theres no doubt. at the same time though, they were first to really spread music, nowadays everythings already been done so todays musicians real creativity doesnt come out much. not as much as music from the past, now there are some really good songs but nothing special since theres prbly something else like it already. so... its hard to say what music was or is better.

  • the only part of madcons version that is good is the chorus , other than that it is terrible

    Original Frankie Valli forever

  • i think their both amazing, both so different and so catchy

  • I love Madcon's as well, but the real reason why the quality of the original version sounds so poor by today's standards is that you're listening to it on youtube. Try this song on vinyl record on a good hi-fi set.

  • Great taste on Madcon's part for digging up this beaut. However, at some point you have to realize it's just a re-painting of a Michelangelo. Of course Madcon's rendition is going to sound richer in quality but it's the 21st century and we have better brushes now. Madcon plotted this song on the map for the 4 seasons and thats the shit. It's a shame oldies are a dying on the radio waves....

  • While the sound of the Vinyl in the background is amazingly epic. I really would like to hear this remastered.

  • you can't beat that raw sound though! to each their own different strokes different folks all versions of the song are good

  • Bottom line is the song is fuckin great!

  • I agree with you to the fullest on that one. The new one has a pretty cool sound to it and it embraces the original material. A lot of covers just feel like a cheap way to make money, but the one from Madcon doesn't feel that way.

  • his version makes for good skating music too :3

  • EPIC

  • This is the real original... this one, timebox and madcons... like m all! great song! lots of drama... niceeee!

  • brings back memories of flying down the sagtikos parkway to get to class blazin and blasting this and singing at the top of my lungs. see when someon pulls up next to you at a light and they're blasting music, i feel like if its cussin' and rap people tend to be annoyed, but this kind of music i feel can be appreciated by everyone. Mr.Valli truly never fails to impress

  • You know Frankie has cashed in on this one!

  • Wasn't this song on a converse commercial? I've been looking for this song ever since then...

  • it was addidas

  • Yeah, kinda figured that out a few seconds after I posted that comment...

  • lol

  • The one on the Adidas commercial was a remix of the madcon version. I don't reckon you'll find it, I'm pretty sure they remixed it for the commercail only. Either that or they had an exculsive license on it and you won'tfind it for about a year. If you do, post it up here- I'm sure lots of people would like to find and downlaod it

  • No it wasn't Madcon! The Addidas commercial used the Pilooski re-edit of Frankie Valli. it actually says so if you look at the tags on that video on YouTube

  • This is that shit right here... pure soul and wonderful sounds.

and as for the madcon version, it's garbage.

  • omg right?

when i heard the madcon version i was like

    "NO! NOT ALLOWED!"

  • i dont see why ppl cant appreciate both versions of this song. i traditionally enjoy older music, but that doesnt stop me from seein the artistic nature of madcons version. neither is better than the other, just different.

  • its the internet...theres never a short supply of people to bitch about something...thats why

that last sentence is probably the truest one ive heard about the two songs

  • the best coment I have ever seen on the net. true.

  • just different kinds of good

  • i think both versions are awesome...but this has the better sound, voice and lyrics so this is superior, but madcon is still pretty good

  • Check out the Timebox version as well

  • I like both the original and the adaptation which is a bit odd for me. As a child of the 60s, I tend to prefer the arrangement & song craft of the earlier era.

The original reminds me of the huge impact the electric bass made when it emerged in the 50s. There's a reason the rappers & hipsters continually lift the basslines of 60s-era recordings.

  • my daughter thinks frankie vallie does this song ten times better than madcon and shes 14.

  • this is my bands opener for marching season :) oh yeah

  • Madcon sucks, Frankie valli kicks ass<3

    screw madcon fucking copy cat

  • well go back to madcon's site then

  • they're both good, i think

    you can like both, assholes

  • stop hatin madcon did really well to put their own to this, but frankie DAMN unbelievable

  • THIS IS WAYYYYYYY!

    BETTER THAN MADCONS IM SRY!!

but always stick to the ORIGINAL!

and i really sounds better =/

  • way better then the madcon version if you ask me

  • its not madcon they took the original frankie valli lyrics and just pasted it in the chorus.

  • is it me or is the 60s coming back.

  • i hope so... then eventually the 70s will come back!!!

  • It is definitely coming back. 60's was the best and I'm 16....I'm of to see Cliff and The Shadows in September!!!

  • great music thaks mate

  • Very good ...........and original

  • Pft, Macadons has a better beat?

    You're crazy.

  • Yeah, my bad.

  • Nothing is good as the original! I do prefer Dukes of DaVilles version better than Madcon, though.

  • The beat is pretty much the same. With a few more fills and mixed a bit differently to make it have that hip hop feel.

What makes Madcon's cover sound better, is the amazing leaps in audio quality since the 60s. I think if this was to be remastered it would be a chart topper even now.

  • im actually just a frankie valli fan

  • Loved the Four Seasons, this was one of my favorites.

  • Just another song that proofs how much more creative musicians been producing songs in past, and how idealess and steady repeating over and over again our music is now.

  • Well said.

  • that's the basis of hip-hop though, sampling and recycling. it's not idealess, it's reusing and reinterpreting music of the past that might be lost to most. i bet you this video's view count blasted through the roof after madcon's release. without hip-hop, "timeless" classics like this would be known to only a handful of the future. you got to appreciate hiphop for this and this for hiphop. interchangeable respect.

  • Love the original!!!Thank you!

  • marky.. lol im only ten but im on my bros account and i agree it is awesome.

  • well duh, its the original

  • best version !!!!

  • better!!

  • itsmarkywow...you're a very small 11 year old!

  • love it. and im 11 and i think its awesome

  • i know tons of 60's songs but i never knew this existed till late last year [after i'd fallen in love with the madcon version]...amazing! this is quite soulful.

  • WooooP!! Love Franki Valli and the Four Seasons!! Totaly loved all the songs of theirs in Jersey Boy West End!! Awsome Song!! one of their top bests!!

  • this is great! but madcon is also good... :)

  • yahh true

  • i'm only 16 and i've seen Jersey Boys and i loved that and i love Frankie Valli's and the four seasons and my friends can't understand it :p

  • That's coz you are cleverer than your friends and they can't stand some one better than them ;-)

  • more clever.

  • "cleverer" is the correct comparative.

  • It was my prom recently and i requested December 1963, but they only had some sort of disco version :/ oh well 4 seasons rock

  • Petje af voor het origineel hoor............ ik vind ze beide lekker klinken........

  • this sounds so much better the crapped out Madcon version

  • hey yea it does, maybe cos MADcon is a corruption of MAD and CONVICT >: D I am dave! yogpod

  • i known bout this song for ever. plus the madcon cover upp..

shiieeett people only started to listen to them after they played it on the mo"fukn radio

i bet they dont even know any other songs from madcon or where there from!

    fukn biters!

  • amazing record

  • I'm glad Madcon covered the song otherwise I wouldn't have known this one. The feeling of the sound is great, Madcon has done a nice job, Frankie Valli was great then..

  • the madcon sounds better if you ask me but its not original this one is original ;)

  • Nice!!

  • In some cases, maybe - but not this one !! but we are all entitled to our own opinion x

  • The Saturdays version is bloody terrible ! How dare they !

  • can anyone confirm the correct lyrics for this part, is it "a broken man, without a throne" or "a broken man, but i don't know" ?

  • A broken man THAT I don't know.

  • Comment removed

  • much better than Madcon, of course

  • Yea originals are always the best, but some covers or samples still does it justice. I like em both equally

  • Begin'

  • this track was, and still is KILLER!

sad to see that the only amazing tracks on the radio are remakes of older songs, and we just fall for them because they are somewhat familiar sounds

  • nothing wrong with reviving legend tracks and conforming it to something a little more modern

  • The time they made the originals that they use now to bring somtehing 'new' on the musicmarket.. Great song, sung with the right emotions in his voice. Though I like the version of Madcon also, this is the real thing!

  • There wouldn't have been the great remake Madcon did if it wasn't for this classic =X.

  • true true...

  • lol thats humor -12 :D

  • This just beats the crap out of those Madcon rip offs.

  • Wth?!!!!!!!!!!

  • I KNEW that Madcon song was too good to be original.

I was so sure is sounded "something" like I've heard from an oldies station, and turns out its almost the same song. They just added some rapping. Not much else.

Wow. So disappointed. I was so pleased something in the pop/rap stations was really great to listen too, but turns out its just a rip off.

  • madcon & coolio both took classics and added their own thing, bound to succeed

  • Dang, this group had a lot of hits! I need to dig into their archive's because there are so many catchy songs from back in the day that i'm finding out they originally sang.

  • i love this original version ,frankie and the four seasons rocks .
