Is there a thinkpad model with a touchscreen? So i can use it like a notebook. And would you reccommend me buying the system with an ssd drive, I think that long term use of those disks will eventually reduce their read/write speeds?.
It's not a standard keyboard, the Insert key should be above the Delete key. Pretty annoying, this will cause the user to often accidentally press the Delete key when trying to do a Shift Insert of other Insert combo. STUPID, Lenovo, why???
It's not Expresscard 34, it's 54. Also, like others have mentioned, the standard 6 cell battery isn't rated anywhere close to 15 hours (and together with the battery slice doesn't give you 24 hours), and the display is 12.5", not 12.1". When the reviewers make multiple mistakes like these, it really makes one wonder if he really knows what he is talking about, and ultimately makes this review much less useful.
@schizosayso actually it is not. The USB 3.0 port is only available with the i7 processor and is located on the usb port closest to the CPU vent. I know this because I have one.
Pretty neat! I am thinking of buying the macbook pro 13 inch but I want this now, sadly its not available in my region of the world right now . . . also, no HDMI as I understand it?
Quick pointer - You're not getting 15 hours with the standard battery as mentioned, unless it's with the slice. 6cell is ~ 8 hours, 9cell apparently ~12hours.

Does the slice battery come with the order? Or do you have to order it separately?

@JITT3RY It can be either. Doesn't really matter. That's not really a dot or a point, it's a period :)

The flap at the bottom of the battery slice can be opened so you can dock it without removing the slice.

we all know battery life specifications are misleading. did you personally test it and get a run time of 15hrs on std battery? If not, please do.

@lanreudu go read the engadget review. They managed 8 hours with the standard battery

Could you post a source for the statement, that the X220 is military tested?
It would be a reason for me to buy it, if it is "immune" to dust, physical shocks, heat, ...
afuerst89 1 year ago
@afuerst89 It is mil-spec tested as stated on lenovo's website.
