My daughters laptop would not charge but ran only if plugged in. Purchased the AC Power charger board for $6.00 and followed the video. after I was done, booted back up and works like new, battery is now charging. Great Video...Thank You
PLEASE HELP!! I have an inspiron 1525 and when i plug the charger nothing happens! the light doesn't turn on, and neither the laptop. I bought another charger, a new battery and with the battery the computer turns on, but i'm running out of battery and the charger doesn't charge. I bought a new DC power jack and just installed it with this tutorial help, but still nothing..
Before this problems, before windows start with a black screen it said that it needed to use a 90W charger, but it was!
@23mascarita It sounds like you computer does not recognize the AC power adapter that you are using. I would recommend using an original dell ac power adapter and battery. If that does not fix the problem then it is possible that the charging circuit on the motherboard is bad and the motherboard my need to be replaced, especially since you have already replaced the DC Power Jack..
Hey I am at the little power strip to the power button at 2:27 in the video. The damn thing does not come off as easy as you make it look? lol! How is that thing connected? I don't want to break it!
@DreidMusicalX The power button cover is held on with clips and it will be a little tough to get off the first time. Be careful though because it is also attached to a ribbon cable and you do not want to break the clip.
@dellpartspeople Thanks! I did get it off and finally got the thing taken apart. I switched the battery to see if that was it? NOPE! lol! Its back together now but I think it is the MB. SUCKS! DO you happen to know anywhere to get a really cheap Mother Board for it? Inspriron 1526
Ok I did this but now the lsd screen won't cut on. The computer gets power to it now. I've never had a screen problem before and everything is connect the same way it was before. What could be the problem?
I have this laptop that is not turning on at all. No charging light or anything. iv had my power cable tested it's fine. dose this sound like the card shown in the video is broken? please help...
What was initially wrong with the DC Jack, was the middle pin broken? I have the same laptop that won't power up at all. When I plug it in the orange battery charging indicator light will blink but won't do anything else. I'm wondering if it's the DC Jack that has gone bad. Anyone else had this issue?
really nice work very easy to understand..followed it step by step and my brother's laptop 1525 inspiron dc jack has been successfully installed and it works like a charm..thanks dellpartspeople for great tutorials.
GREAT video! I have no technical experience but was able to follow very easily step by step. Battery is now charging!! Best trick for the tiny screws (credit my physicist boyfriend): magnetize the head of your screwdriver by touching it to a magnet. Screws will then stick to it!
It seems this part is prone to break on this model. This is the second time I've had to replace it. Hope it will be the last until I can afford a new computer.
I need help! i have the same problem in switching the power jack but i need to know what kind of power jack i need for my dell inspiron 1525!!! please help.
@dellpartspeople My inspiron 1525 doesn't sleep wheen the lid is closed, control panel/what closing the lid does setting is ok, I think the problem is on the part that let the computer know is closed... do you sell that part? what is the name of the part? and how much is it? Thanks.
First time opening a laptop here too, and managed to install this board. Plugged everything back in and battery says its charging! Will post again if there are any issues in the future. Great video thanks!!!
Tips for others -
I needed tweezers with pointy tips to reseat some screws because they were so tiny.
As you remove the screws, place on a sheet of paper and label, helps to figure out which ones are which later.
I also took photos as I went along to figure out how things were lined up.
Awesome video. It helped having decent knowledge of computer components and past experience with building computers, but very good instructions. First time ever tearing into a laptop and couldn't have done it without this video, thanks for posting!
@xohbabyx15 Don't be scared, just pace yourself and make sure to be gentle when lifting up the connectors that release the wires..or send your laptop to us and we'll take care of it..call us with any questions..
If you love computers this is like porn, Boner time.

Angelnik2001 2 months ago
@Angelnik2001 It be a loose connection. I would recommend trying to re-seat the connection to see if that will solve the problem.
***Note: If the AC adapter cord and the Battery are not removed before removing the screen then it is possible that the video card was damaged.
dellpartspeople 2 months ago
YES ITS TRUE YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE OFF THE SCREEN...THE OWNER SHOULD PUT THAT IN THE DESCRIPTION.

@robindabok Yes, If you are sure you AC Power adapter is working properly, then the next component to check would be the DC Power Jack.

@Zappo90744 If the middle pin on your AC adapter is broken then you will be unable to power your computer or charge your battery.
