  • "That is a nice vase. I should get one for my home"

    "Congratulations, you found a dustbin."

Zevran and Sten (and all the other companions!) are awesome! :)

  • I agree with pano having these religious groups basically just added several more factions into the game, if there were no such inclusion, there wouldnt be the cult of andraste, nor the templars themselves

  • It's not flat, on the contrary it adds a certain deepness in the game's lore. It would be flat if the game forced you to pick a side or a religion. That would be flat and rediculous.

  • The game is modeled on how Medieval Europe was, which they captured perfectly. I am sad that they did not allow us to kill off the Chantry :(

  • @Vayshanna Rebel against the Templars in Dragon Age 2 ?? =D

  • @Vayshanna

Anders took care of that for us.

  • @Vayshanna the chantry is a lot like the old catholic church. "oh u dont believe in our god, well fuck u then, we'll just kill u. praise jesus we didnt want to kill all those people. they were witches i swear." death over religon is just plain stupid

  • @Vayshanna

Not everyone in the Chantry is evil. Grand Cleric Ethina did not deserve her fate, she was one of the most kind hearted women I met in Dragon Age 2 and I nearly cried when Anders did what he did.

  • @AlexanderSajin She was a good woman but a foolish one. She let things blow up between the Mages and Templars by not intervening. All she did was pray and hope that it all works out while hundreds if not thousands of Mages were abused every day. Ethina represents an aging system that must be done away with for a new era to rise

  • @Weirdman920 Agreed.

  • @Drerark Abrahamic undertones, to be correct. Besides, it WAS the point. Why would anyone do fantasy roleplaying without taking influence.

Besides, Chantry wasn't THAT unopposed. Wynne made few notions that she did believe there were LESS benelovent souls within them, and Duncan didn't like the way of them restricting mages at all. Then there are the Qunari, whose philosophy seems to be more attracting than it seems, since Chantry has noticed many of their own followers had converted to Qun.

  • @Drerark Besides, some of the myths have double meanings. While it's easy to put Jesus-character stamp on Andraste, she isn't that simple. She's actually more like Joan of arc and prophet Muhammad hybrid, and on top of that having a name of celtic war goddess.

Being agnostic myself, I can't really see this to be "Christian propaganda". It's one of the elements of course, but then again being a role-playing, your character can react to it in different ways.

  • @Ruosteinenknight Plus, you have to remember that the Chantry wasn't the only religion you encountered. There was the Qun, like you said, but there were also the Dwarven ancestral... things... And the creator gods of the Dalish. And I never really felt, at any point, like any one belief got special treatement.

  • @roflcopterprods Well said.

  • Epic soundtrack epic game, Collectors edition FTW
