Naruto is depressed about being shunned as a child and losing the only friend he ever really had but still wants to be hokage of the village that shunned him, loves ramen, wants to protect his friends and ultimately wants respect, which is why he wants to become Hokage, so that everyone in the village that shunned him will respect him and know he is a "Great" ninja. A fairly typical protagonist of a action anime.

Dumb dumb show. One Piece is much better and even Bleach is better than Naruto
