Just the fact that you call them MORMONS, is actually a derogatory term... They prefer to be called LDS for Latter Day Saints, the full name of the church is THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATER DAY SAINTS... They believe that you can only be "saved" through Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith has no more to do with that then Moses. They are all just prophets... not their savior.

@funstarj Its rather standard Mormon dogma. Christians believe christ was the final word on scripture. Mormons believe Joseph Smith was. Therefore, Mormons can not be Christians the same way in which Muslims are not Christians because they believe Muhammad was the final word on scripture.

@River101010 It was the law that was fulfilled. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and Jesus is the Son of God. Joseph taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's not "or". It's the exact same thing as listening to Matthew, John, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and other prophets and apostles of God.

@River101010 Yes, they're of one purpose. It doesn't say they are one being. Your question is what's faulty because we teach Jesus Christ's teachings. And the Bible says something different than what you claim. It says no man can see God, save (means except) he is of God. If someone is of God they can very well see God just as the Bible expresses.

Baptism for the dead was something done in early Christianity, one of the things traditionalists, same as you, have done away with.
@majinish again i shall bring up Jesus talking about marriage. Matthew 22:23-32 this covers both marriage not being forever and babpizing the dead. I'm penicostial or a 1st church believer we of the faith never baptized the dead that was gnosticism in 150-300 A.D. they also talked about Jesus not being God where the scriputers are clear that Jesus is God, if not then Deutteronomy 6:4 is wrong and so is Matthew 22:41-45. John 1:1 and John 1:14 talk of Jesus being God. Colossians 1:15-17 same.

You keep forgetting it shows the Father and Jesus as being distinct beings. "the Word was with God, and the Word was God." It does say Jesus is God but it also states Jesus was with God the Father. There's no triune God anywhere in the Bible, only the Godhead which is the biblically correct term.

I'm penicostial or a 1st church believer we of the faith never baptized the dead that was gnosticism in 150-300 A.D. they also talked about Jesus not being God where the scriputers are clear that Jesus is God, if not then Deutteronomy 6:4 is wrong and so is Matthew 22:41-45. You keep forgetting it shows the Father and Jesus as being distinct beings. "the Word was with God, and the Word was God." It does say Jesus is God but it also states Jesus was with God the Father. in fact, find me one place where Jesus refers to Himself as either perfect, or as God... He does say that none can get to the Father but THROUGH me... but that still implies that you have to pass Jesus to see God... sounds more like he's God's Bouncer to me. There is no proof that BY participated but there is an implication, and no proof that he wasn't. At the very least he knew what was about to happen before it happened and did nothing to stop it. EVERYONE over 8 yrs old in the settlers party was murdered. Even G.B.H. apologized for this.

I've never seen the movie. Heard it was not only propaganda but that it sucked as well.
Mormonism has worked for 150+ years to distance itself from the events of 9-11-1857 and can't. It's tied to the massacre. The recent book by the Church gets closer to the truth— but avoids the fact that LDS teachings were key to the massacre happening. Were 1857 Mormons So UT Terrorists? Dunno. They were certainly religious extremist.
Critics need to quit the exaggeration— and LDS need to learn the truth.
