I adore the voice acting in this... Vincent isn't exactly wrong though. Silent Hill shows you the monsters in your heart, the demons in your mind. They can appear like anything you fear, or what you hate most. I wondered what Vincent was seeing in his own part of the world. I mean, Alessa in SH was able to force everyone to experience her nightmare, but I dunno if Heather could pull everyone into her version of SH like her past self could.

Also, I have no idea how anyone could think that he wasn't joking. That makes no sense in context. Vincent is the biggest asshole in the world, of course he'd mess with her head. Besides, if she was actually killing people, he'd probably never go around her on account of having a survival instinct. Why would he think that, if she was killing people, he'd be safe?

Later on Claudia said that the Seal of Metatron is useless... But I was wondering if it actually had an unseen effect??? I remember in SH1 when Alessa was inscribing it in the ground in the Other World. I just realized now maybe just having the seal close to her in SH3 might've just slowed down the growth of "God" until the end, so maybe it wasn't too entirely useless?

Those monsters are real people. Alessa made them into monsters for what happened to her, she believed they were all part of the cult. When Vincent asks Heather about them looking like monsters is because he to is one in some ways.

@LaurenHakusKid Most the monsters that appear are just manifestations of their inner turmoil. SH2 has the most obvious.*cough*PHimpaling*coug­h* SH3 had undertones of the fear of teenage pregnancy. PH makes an appearance in Homecoming, acting more as a punisher. SH4 is the hardest to decipher mostly because the otherworld and its creatures aren't from Henry's psyche and he himself was a victim of the hauntings making him such an unassuming person that would eventually fade from existence.

@riku1932 I've read some more about it. Most of them are likely NOT to be humans. Some, like the Missionary and Scrapers, definitely are Order members appearing to Heather as monsters in the Fog World and Otherworld. But the rest i doubt are people.

Like in the other games, i suspect that they are DEAD people. Damned people specifically, forced to take bizarre shapes based upon a person's psyche.  Case in point: Lisa Garland of Silent Hill 1. She was dead and a "monster."

@leafytaco75 I don't think he was really joking, by his tone of voice. He didn't want Heather to have second thoughts about fighting/killing them. Since we never see any Order members besides Claudia in the game, i guess that most of the monsters in this game are actually Order members, like the Missionary and Leonard Wolf. That being said, some monsters, like Split Worm and God, are definitely either normal monsters or "incarnations." Also, monsters in other games are definitely monsters.

@Kari166 Good point. To be honest, i guess only the Scrapers, Leonard, and the Missionary are Order members or transmogrified Order members. The others are likely to be of the same origin as in the other games. I'm pretty sure that "monsters" are actually just damned souls bound to the Otherworld, forced to take various bizarre shapes based upon people's psyches. Lisa Garland, for example, turned out to be a "monster" in the end but she also stated that she was dead like the rest of "them."

Vincent does have a pretty twisted sense of humour, but if you get the good ending then you'll see that Heather is a bit sick in her humour as well.

I especially love the quote about worshipping the same god and disagreeing. All of the games seem to have philosopial undertones, which I adore. Yay for Silent Hill!
