  • orca-cam FTW

  • That is one (or maybe a colony of a) very bizzare alien-like creatures. You don't want to get entangled in those super long highly venomous tentacles!!

  • CTHULHU LIVES!

  • Is this Praya dubia? And what is the scale of this creature?

  • HP Lovecraft was onto something

  • @WhisperdaleD I've always kinda thought that to be honest. there is some weird things out there. many of which have never been seen by humans.

  • It's ironic, really. i'm afraid of the deep sea. I LOVE this fish, even though it's 130 ft long, but I'm terrified of Gulper Eels which are only about 4 inches long. (i think)

  • This is the reason I'm (irrationally) afraid of deep, dark, ocean waters... you have no idea just WHAT the hell could be right below you!

  • this is my least favorite thing.

  • Amazing

  • Another good reason not to go in the ocean *shudders * ughh >_<

  • I wonder what it would be like to have sex with it

  • @Motorskallen You would get stung pretty badly.

  • @suicune690 It was a joke. A bad joke, but a joke nevertheless.

  • 0:04 looks like a Q-tip

  • Where's its fuckin' head? This whole thing's stupid. Let's keep goin'

  • NOPE

  • this is why I'm afraid of water.

  • H.P. Lovecraft wishes he could think up something is terrifying.

  • nope general.

  • NOPE

  • How long is that thing?

  • @nurb101 66 ft long

  • NOPE.avi

  • what. the. fuck.

  • Who'se that pokemon?

  • @uirukun LOL

  • @uirukun I LOL'D HARD

  • Looks like it's time to nuke the whole world.

  • Its not any kind of jellyfish or squid Siphonophore are broken up into many different sup species. They are also freaking horrifying. I am a Lovecraft fan and this thing looks like something right out of his world.

  • is it some kind of jelly fish?

  • Just to ruin all the Cthulhu stuff here: IT'S THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!!!

  • That thing is creepy beyond belief.

  • So if this thing is a a have mind of stingers, feeders. reproducers, etc...

Does that make this thing a Zerg?

  • YYAaaah! I wouldn't want to mess with that!

  • at 0:46 how did a fly get down there lol

  • awesomeness on a stick. Literally. Why do I think this would be cool with the theme from 2001 playin in the background?

First saw it on endless ocean (spend about 20 hours lookin for the thing by it's shadow. in the dark water.) and all they called it was 'praya dubia' the sceintific name. I'm hopin' they say siphonophore on blue world :)

They are either my fave or second fave deep sea fish

  • @TheMonthofMayo actually praya dubia is a different siphonophore, this one, i don't even know what it's called...

  • @bananaphoneman12 I'd say a primodial deep sea promenthus hydra. could be wrong, though.

  • I think it is pryia dumbia or giant siphonophore from my fav game endless ocean and endless ocean blue world (in U.S.).

  • can it eat humans ??

  • this is more like a sea plant i think...i wonder if its possible to take one out and put it in a aquarium

  • Its classified as a plankton and if it ascends to high it'll start to separate from lack of pressure to hold it together and im not trying to show you up or anything i just thought id give some information out sorry if it makes an offense

  • @stealthgao It would be cool if they put it in this prezzurized chamber then passed it to this pressurized aquarium dont know how they would clean it though

  • @rosynet7 unless the aquarium had water pressure equivalent to a few thousand feet down then probably not. idk though its possible.

  • "In his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming."

  • Thats a bit longer than my cock! no seriously! that is just an incredible specimen! nature is priceless!

  • That's Longer than Long-Cat!

  • @sakukira how dare you

  • That's put me off my lunch!

  • i wish one for xmas lol

  • nature is amazing

  • Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth's fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread.

  • @lionOFjudah33

yay, Lovecraft! I was just reading his short stories last week. What a coincidence!

    Good quote!

  • @lionOFjudah33 "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn."

  • this would technically qualify as a deep one, but the sentiment is appreciated. Loveraft Nazi ftw!

  • @Deathrune456 but its not a fishman?

  • @lionOFjudah33 YOU FOOL! YOU'VE DAMNED US ALL!

  • @lionOFjudah33

    ia! ia! siphonophore ftaghn!

  • @lionOFjudah33 you#r so right, charles dexter ward ftw

  • @lionOFjudah33 The ice desert of the south and the sunken isles of Ocean hold stones whereon Their seal is engraven, but who hath seen the deep frozen city or the sealed tower long garlanded with seaweed and barnacles?

  • it's definitely a alien.

Who said there isn't aliens in our planet?

  • im an alien! better watch out for a white owl out of your window at 3:33am! But u will never know cuz I'll block your memories!

  • 4 months late :D

  • It's not often things like this are scary, but this one... yikes!

  • El-bizarreo aquatic kids are great!

I can't get over how long the tentacles are!

  • It's not a creature it's creature's, colonies..

  • wiki is ur friend.. amirite?

  • I try to stay away from wiki.. I remember studying siphonophore in school.

  • An absolutely beautiful creature though I've got to ask, is it just me who thinks more more sea creatures are being discovered that look like something you hang up in your living room? Not in the hunting sort of way but the 'light fitting' sort of way.

  • You just gave me an amazing idea!!!!! I just need a really high ceiling, glass blowing equipment, and a lot of wiring materials.

  • weird

  • damn that thing is long!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm so sorry for this- That's what she said.

  • lol how you know it's a she?

  • This video does not want to make me go in the ocean at all.

  • If you knew, you would be afraid of every single drop of water...

  • wtf r u talking about... if u knew???

  • lololololollololololololollolollololollool

  • No, Benfiquista93...I'm not black...I'm tan with an unusually big cock...XD

  • lmfao nice one you must be black then

  • HAhahaha!!! Respect

  • freaked out aliens have been here longer than we think :O

  • what in the fuckin hell was that

  • Wow. That's all one organism? How long is it?

  • Some siphonophores can get well over 100 feet long, depending on species. It's really a colony of animals; not just a single organism. Each little "piece" is called a zoid, and each one has a special job. They work together like a set of organs, as well as swimmers, floaters, stingers, reproducers, etc. That's why there's a debate of whether or not these are the world's biggest living animals, since they may not technically be a single animal. If colonies are considered animals, coral reefs win.

  • wow really ? so its like a lot of organisms together COOL !!

  • .....Basically, yeah. But they all depend on each other, and they share the same DNA. So it's like vital parts in a machine. And yeah- these animals are wicked cool. And we've still got a lot to learn. :)

  • That's amazing! Thanks, Squilla!

  • @SQUILLA898 So, together they make a... MEGA-ZOID?

  • @SQUILLA898

100 feet of Portuguese Man o war, I'm not liking those numbers

  • @SQUILLA898 so a being as described in "The Swarm" by Frank Schaetzing could actually exist, at least there are .. things that exist in a similar way? Nice comment, btw. Nice to know. Sea is interesting.

  • @SQUILLA898 40-50 meters, but there have been reports of bigger. And it is zooid not zoid haha zoid is a robot animal.

  • the alien invasion has started under our very oceans..... how could we be so blind?

  • MY GOD..

  • They're like aliens...

  • oh???? (to no one in particular... just random caribbean lingo)

but we can send men to the moon ??? no no... until someone tells me why the hell these things exist (oh please tell me how they help me daily) i aint going nowhere outsida 6 ft deep water!!!

  • i bet yah a lot of poor innocent fish die in that thing...haha

  • man id hate to get tangled up in that thing while snorkling heh.

  • it's not a jellyfish, i mean it is made of animals that are like jellyfish, but its actully called a siphonophore (si-phone-oh-for) it's made up of 3-5 different species, called zooids.

  • WTF???

  • imagine if that washed up on the beach like regular jellyfish. i would be the person taking pictures with their phone and poking it with a piece of driftwood.

  • that is looooooong

  • Good lord.....

  • long jelly is looooooooong

  • HOLY SHIT YOU WEREN'T KIDDING!!

  • I know, I saw it right after this video! Kinda gross. :(

  • I would hate to get caught in that siphonophore's tentacles. EEE...

  • that might scare the living fuck out of you if you would meet it in shallow waters. altough i thing that would be impossible. but yes it will kill you.

  • WTF deadly!!!

  • Comment removed
