I just watched a replay of Ali vs. Frazier in the THIRD EPIC BATTLE nearly killing each other, leaving it all in the ring in Manilla.... fighting till they had nothing left to give. David just can't keep on his feet, he should seriously work on his footwork. No use lunging forward and then falling down. Sure some were pushes, but if you fight the big boys you should be able to stand your ground.
What I noticed was this wall all hype. Audley Harrison and 38year old Ruiz who is not puncher were not dangerous fighters. And he ran and threw 1 punch a round against Valuev again not a puncher. But as Klitschko said after the fight, Haye went into super-defensive mode around halfway thru the fight. As you know, it's very difficult to KO someone who goes into a defensive shell and just want sto survive. It's hard to fault Klitschko for following rule # 1, which is to win the fight, even though it wasn't the ending we wanted.

If Haye had been more willing to risk himself as he did in the 12th, he may have been able to get inside of klitschko and stay there. But the outside was Klitschko's fight all night. And i can't help but feel that Haye thought he was going to get knocked out if he went in..
Klitschko - longer reach than haye & therefore has the skill to win by outboxing, gradually wearing his opponent down with jabs, no reason for him to risk going toe to toe with haye when he has that advantage.
Haye- shorter, less reach, therefore, he's at a disadvantage when at a distance with klitschko.
Getting into a boxing ring with the mentality of the hulk, shortens a boxers career significantly.
Haye might be good but he acted like a bum in this fight he lost every round and fell down i dont know how many times he didnt want to fight Klitschko he made that very clear during every round.

Vlad did grab Haye behind the head several times, but I wouldn't say excessively. Ali used to do that shit too. In this fight, I'd worry more about Haye's trademark rabbitt punches when he's clinched with his opponent. Punching a guy in the back of the skull is pretty low.
Haye is a warrior to go up a weight class and done what he is done . Hes a cruiser weight who went 12 rounds with Klitchko and cut him . Broken toe aside , this was a heroic effort. ...and anyway , Vitali is the true king .
I was only able to listen to the fight on the radio.
It was a better and closer fight than the reporting afterwards made it seem.
Klitschko deserved to win although I thought the referee was poor. He warned Klitschko the first 2 times he pulled Haye down and then ignored the next 5 or 6 times he did it afterwards!
It turned out a poor cagey affair in the end, shame. Haye's tactics were far too cautious for my liking - then again so were Vlad's. Perhaps Haye shouldve watched the bout: Wladimir Klitschko vs Corrie Sanders for inspiration. I agree with some of the comments that heavyboxing is not what it used to be.
David is always fighting giants. Wlad has a longer reach, is far heavier, and is taller. It would be a shame if Wlad lost. I do give Wlad credit for using all these advantages wisely. David could have fought a smarter technical fight i.e use the jab to set up the straight right, avoid the clinch.David played right into Wlad's comfort zone. Much credit to two deserving fighters though. A rematch would be xtremely interesting..

He is a top boxer and im happy that we have boxers in the heavyweight division these days, they are keeping it alive. @satoterror You can't judge him just on this fight that was quite boring, he was way more exiting then haye. Have you seen any of his knock outs ? they are amazing. He doesn't just go bowling in there like a mad man, they use strategy to take there opponents down. God forbid they let there guard go down for a split second they are getting a bad head ache when they are in the ring with one of the brothers.

David is making him miss and out punching him. Klitschko didn't win this fight! Even with the bad call for the knock down he still only won 4 rounds at best! They both fought the same fight from 1-12, Klitschko got outboxed! David only got touched in a couple rounds.

If Haye had been more willing to risk himself as he did in the 12th, he may have been able to get inside of klitschko and stay there. But the outside was Klitschko's fight all night. And i can't help but feel that Haye thought he was going to get knocked out if he went in..

Klitschko - longer reach than haye & therefore has the skill to win by outboxing, gradually wearing his opponent down with jabs, no reason for him to risk going toe to toe with haye when he has that advantage.

Getting into a boxing ring with the mentality of the hulk, shortens a boxers career significantly.

Worst champion Klitschko that ever lived. What a shame to boxing. Haye did a brilliant job of exposing this pretender. Cant stand toe to toe, even with such a reach. Keeps running off at every attack by the haymaker. He is terrified of a guy stepping up from cruiser. How can his name be written on the same board as past greats of this division. Haye did horrible, but so did Klitschko. This was like the Shane Mosley vs Sergio Mora, but horrible. And if you think about it hsinbwa did point something VERY valid out. No heavy weight boxer has relied simply on the jab for points to win a bout.
The HW division is indeed dead. Roy Jones Jr, has been stating this for a while now. It's funny cuz the good cruisers and heavys don't get fights in these weight classes. They're just nobodies that haven't been heard of because of dodging

kickboxing is more complex and boxing because there are more types of shots you have to worry about
also mma is extremely complex due to the muliple disciplines, so many moves and countermoves

none of the top mma fighters would be able to throw punches if they had no wrestling or bjj. if a fighter lacks wrestling or bjj the other fighter targets that weakness. if both fighters have good bjj and wrestling the fighters sometimes choose to just stand up. fighters are constantly being rocked by knees or kicks and are then finished with punches or wresling is used to keep the opponent down and ground and pound for the tko

Vlad did grab Haye behind the head several times, but I wouldn't say excessively. Ali used to do that shit too. In this fight, I'd worry more about Haye's trademark rabbitt punches when he's clinched with his opponent. Punching a guy in the back of the skull is pretty low.

I was only able to listen to the fight on the radio.
It was a better and closer fight than the reporting afterwards made it seem.
Klitschko deserved to win although I thought the referee was poor. He warned Klitschko the first 2 times he pulled Haye down and then ignored the next 5 or 6 times he did it afterwards!

It turned out a poor cagey affair in the end, shame. Haye's tactics were far too cautious for my liking - then again so were Vlad's. Perhaps Haye shouldve watched the bout: Wladimir Klitschko vs Corrie Sanders for inspiration. I agree with some of the comments that heavyboxing is not what it used to be.

David is always fighting giants. Wlad has a longer reach, is far heavier, and is taller. It would be a shame if Wlad lost. I do give Wlad credit for using all these advantages wisely. David could have fought a smarter technical fight i.e use the jab to set up the straight right, avoid the clinch.David played right into Wlad's comfort zone. Much credit to two deserving fighters though. A rematch would be xtremely interesting..
