    Try OHS, and Fronts as an assitance lift, not this "Half Squat" nonsense.

    Oh ya, the Bench Press with Punishment is probably one of the worse ideas for "cross" training I've ever seen.

  • What a wonder. I post an objective, critical comment on two of your vids but, WHOOPS, they didn't seem to get through. Can take a punch to the gut while benching, but can't take some e-critique. Nice.

  • Nothing wrong with half squats at all. I'm pretty sure he can't do this to parallel or ATG, but so what? He's just training for top end power here. It's not like this is all the guy does. Half squats have their place. As long as a person is doing full squats too, then doing half squats will help with top end power and developing the quads. The quads are very important in starting speed, so doing these as well as front squats will help greatly with starting speed for athletes.

  • He isn't even doing a proper half squat and I highly doubt this guy has ever come close to parallel never mind full or atg. I wouldn't give this ego lifter the benefit of the doubt.

  • What a waste of time. Not only is he not even doing 'half' squats, he has a manta-ray thing on his back. He probably couldn't do close to 315 below parallel without knee wraps and a power suit.

  • Here's a couple of HSed guys... BTW...he's at 1.6 on weight to strenght ratio..that's pretty close if not olympic class strength! We have had a blast homeschooling our 6 children and I can promise you there is nothing sterotypical about our crew!

  • Olympic? Hah. Lamar gant pulled 5X bodyweight. Chakarov squatted 270kg ROCK BOTTOM for an easy double, beltless, wrapless, and sans spotter 3 days before the world finals. He weighed 91kg. Search for 'best squat ever'. The title is correct.

  • Well, it looks like he has no idea how to do half squats either. He is barely unlocking his knees. He would be a lot better off going with lighter weight and going ATG.
