The Right Way to Answer the Phone in Business

Good-I verify appointments for a company who kids parents seek out. Today there were 25 children who hung up on me when I asked to speak to an adult or a grown up. You could tell they were looking at their caller id box and letting it dictate what to do. I tried to call back a few of the ones that hung up on me or used profanity and they did the same thing to me when I said the word ADULT. Kids will soon all be in jail the way it is going by age 15 because of their refusal to learn or care.

Thanks for the tips. I wasn't aware that our annoyance was transferred to our voice when we answered the phone. I'll keep that in mind.
