  • what electronics did you use

  • @rcsuperhornet I used all Tamiya products so the electronics are what Tamiya supplied with the kit. I did however use a Futaba transmitter.

  • I had one of these in about '85. As I recall, a couple of years later when I lost interest I jumped it off a flat roof 30 ft up using a steep ramp to get more air. It landed flat on its belly and the noise it made sounded like a thunderclap. Almost every bit of it broke. Little did I know that two and a half decades later I could have flogged it as "vintage" on the internet for hundreds of dollars, if I'd kept it. Oh well

  • @thepublandlord1 Well that's what the 80's were all about. A time when things were made to last and all we did was put them to the extreme test. I remember right around that time blowing up everything I owned with firecrackers. haha

  • @nitroghost666 Just keep it away from jumping entire hills and you'll be fine. :)

  • @nitroghost666 The Hornet is very durable...I think I just jumped it a little too big. It held up great for what I was putting it through. I think you'll be very pleased with the Hornet kit. And if you do break anything, like I said, it's cheap and easy to fix.

  • @nitroghost666 The rear came unhitched from the tub part of the chassis. There's pieces on each side that keep it connected and allow for the rear to compress with the shocks. One of those pieces broke thus screwing it all up. Good thing is everything was replaced for real cheap thanks to eBay.

  • You can find a lot of these parts on eBay rate know I'm trying to restore a tamiya hornet from the 1980's just waiting for some parts.

  • Are you going to make any more viedos like this?

  • @rcsuperhornet ha, I don't know. I learned in this bashing that if I want to jump it this big, I better get ready to repair a lot.

  • I know but on the wing it says 4wd

  • how is it 4wd

  • @rcsuperhornet This RC isn't 4wd. Rear wheels drive.

  • if this doesnt show the strength of this car I dunno what does lol. awesome

  • Round 3 proved to be the round that went too far...later upon closer inspection, I realized I cracked the chassis in the rear where the shocks attach. It's hanging on by a thread but one more jump would surely detach the gear box from the chassis on one side. Luckily I have learned that the chassis for the Hornet only runs about $8 on eBay.
