nice runs.. but i do have some advice.. instead of pulling or drive reinging your horse through the pole pattern I would suggest doing the lift up with the reins while pressuring with your leg.. but nice runs..
Horse lover for ever this was his first run ever under pressure he took second in that race and never looked back sold him over 10 years ago and he still runs always in the low 20 high 19. You may think it was harsh but it worked. Does your horse run low 20's high 19s?
definetly not ready for retirement but barrels and stuff are really hard on a horses legs.thats all im saying, but you have a very nice horse there, just use him wisely..
thanks bitch :) i appreciate it. plus, i see those horses at the track that are retired by this age because of leg problems. it was my opinion, shut the hell up. thanks.
train your horse properly and you wont have to hang on its mouth. take a look at trickridingangels i think? videos. she does an excellent job displaying that.
thank you "RachieRae242" :) atleast some one agrees with me. My trainers, my fellow riders, and most of the people i ride with and against use their legs and slight neck reining. there usually isnt any pulling on the mouth at all
Yeah im going to have to agree with the ones who are saying you have to use some leg cues. Because I use leg cues to get my horse to switch leads, scoot over or in, and turn. And considering pole bending has to do with all of those things then i think it would be nessesary to use some leg cues. But aslo i bet it is possible that you can just use your hands and no leg cues. But i think it would be alot easier for the horse and rider if they did.
Horse had never really run a set of poles before and I have never run a set of poles with my legs. Not even his mother who I rode at the AQHA World show placing 11th. Not sure how you do it with your legs when you are up over your horses shoulders making sure your upper body misses the poles. Maybe you should try riding poles that way!!!!
Um, I'm sure "Cowgirlbexxi1" didn't mean to make you mad. She was just giving you some advice. And I agree with her. You're legs are very important in pole bending.
TOUCHE Dashmissdee...cowgirlbexxi1 you should not be critiqueing pole runs after I looked at your pole run you have posted....your horses nose is pointed at the side fences more than it is straight ahead at the poles....are you pulling his nose out there with your legs????
I can't understand how you wouldn't use your legs, and I cant believe that you can't imagine how you would? I ride up over my horse and use my legs at the same time. Its called multi-tasking! You would be a better rider if you learned how.
god if she would slightly tighten up the turns through the poles she would be unstopable great run

@mightysteelzipper I've converted to that with my higher level rodeo horses, it works soooooo much better! But all depends on the pony (:
