  • i want donor my kidney but i can't find where is there, i want soo much donor my kidney who need it

  • waw thats very brave and wonderful of u helping to save a life... i am dialysing 4 years now and cant get a donor and wish i could meet someone like u. well god bless and take care. may god grant you a long healthy life.

  • @raydkidman25 There is a program called "core" They have donors from all over the world. I didn't match but could give a kidney that matches some one and cause of it my cousin will receive one. It's sort of a trade-off. Unfortunately I was turned down cause of medication I am on. So were waiting. But check into it. I found the number online. I will leave the number-it's the pittsburgh area but they might be able to provide you with a number in your area. 412-967-1955 I prayer for you.

  • Hi,

I had 2 heart transplants, and now im on dialysis because my medications ate my kidneys up. I was on the list for a kidney for five years, but was recently told i couldn't get that kidney because my heart is too week.

  • @christinadawnhethcox

    my prayers to you.

  • I'm going to get tested to donate to my Dad, I could save his life, and he wouldn't be in pain all the time.

  • I agree with her that alot of people who are not going through the transplant or donor process never understnad. It must be hard for people to understand why she would want to donate to a stranger , but I still face critism from people and I'm donating to my mom...The question i ask alot of people when they ask why is "wouldn't you do it for a parent or child?" Surprisingly most say they don't think they would do it. Which shocks me...but our surgery is in a few weeks..Wish us luck!!

  • Yes, good luck for sure. It is not easy for others to understand. I do understand why you would want to help. I am so so glad I did it. No Regrets at all. I am a better person today for having done it.

  • Hi, again!

If someone out there would like more info on kidney donation or would like to be matched up with someone in need of a kidney, please feel free to contact me, by clicking on KidneyMitzvah in blue and you will be able to see a video with info as well.

  • I donated a kidney in September in 2005. Since my kidney donation I have been wanting to do more, so I now have a project to help others who are in need of a kidney. I don't get paid for this and don't charge a fee. My brother donated a kidney as well, to someone on my list of people in need of a kidney.

  • I am in touch with many who have donated a kidney - all of us are doing great, no one has regrets and some of us wish we can do it again!

  • Wow - this is great. Thanks for sharing your story!

I also donated a kidney to a stranger and a lot of kidney donors, because donating a kidney, have people trying to talk them out of it. G-d bless you for letting that roll off and going ahead and doing this!

  • I want to donate a kidney to my mom, but im not 18. Do you have to be 18 to donate?

  • First of all, it is wonderful that you would be willing to do that for your mother.

I'm pretty sure you have to be an adult, but talk to your mother's Nephrologist (Kidney Doctor) for his or her advice on how you can help your mom.

  • @Maddiemooman Yeah, you have to be 18. I tried to just get tested to donate, but they said I had to be 18 to do that, so now I'm 18 and I'm currently getting tested to donate to my Dad.

  • I am hoping I can give my kidney to my brother. I am a tissue match but I am going through the next stages of testing. I did the psych and further bloodwork, but now i must do the MRI, Urine Collection, Cardiologist meeting/stress test, and also meeting with the nephrologist. SO I am hoping this late spring/summer I can donate.

  • ArchieFan - It's a very hard thing to go through as a child of the patient. If you are anything like me, this was and has been a very tough thing to deal with. Having a sick parent is not an easy thing at any age, but I've been dealing w/ this since '93(I was 18). I would give anything for my dad to be well again. It takes a lot of courage to do something like this. Now that I am older,I worry that my family will have 2 of us in the hospital, but I pray it all works out.

  • I arrived here by chance I am looking to see if I can find a video showing the procedure, but found this instead. We have gone through one transplant already in my family. My father. I was the original potential donor, ended up not doing it because an older family menber decided he would do it. So I always saw myself as the spare.... I really was hoping that it wouldn't have to come to this, but we need to and I am stepping up to get the testing done.

  • It has been a little over a year since I had my kidney removed to donate and I can honestly say that my body feels 100% back to normal. It is almost like it didn't happen. This may sound strange but I tell people that kidney donation was the most rewarding, exciting and fun thing I have done so far in my life. I don't have any regrets and would do the same thing over again.

  • It is a long process that takes about 4-5 months. You can just start the process and think about it as you go. If you have second thoughts you can always change your mind. I gave myself permission to change my mind if needed, but I never ever wanted to. Keep us posted.

  • There needs to be more people like sara around :)

  • God bless u i wish everyone was generous

  • I can't wait until I turn 18, so I can get tested to see if I can donate a kidney to my dad. I want to donate kidney so bad.

  • i am waiting for my second one. i want compliant so i lost the one that was given to me. it is almost outpatient anymore, very easy and hardly any pain! i encourage you to do it, you will be a blessing and your dad will be healthy! good for you

  • It would mean the world to me, if I could donate to him. I could actually save his life! I'm 75% sure that I am the right blood type. I just hope that my dad makes it to my 18th birthday because he is not doing well.

  • Archie,

    When do you turn 18?

  • I turn 18 on April 21 next year.

  • 18 will come fast. In the mean time do your research and get mentally prepared.

Keep us posted on your progress.

  • I have already been reading up on what to expect during the testing and day of the surgery and the recovery. I will be embarrassed about the catheter in my bladder but i know they are doing it for my own good. One question: Is the IV painfull? And what does it fell like?

  • Oh, and one more thing......I am getting tested at mayo clinic in Arizona and if i am a match, i will have the surgery done there too. I guess Mayo Clinic is ranked #2 or #1 in the united states for best hospital idk....that makes me feel a little bit better that my surgery will go great and also my dad will be fine. Also this would be my very first surgery ever. Very first time with the anesthesia, very first iv, very first everything.

  • I thought the IV felt a little uncomfortable at times. For the most part that should not bother you too much. The main thing to know is that you will be very very tired after surgery. For a few months I had to take allot of naps, not work and just basically take it easy. Very tender, very tired.

  • YOU GO SARA!!!! I love this video. I'm watching this with my kidney donor/spouse/hero... Onto part 2!
