i am a U2 fan since i was 13, now i am 30 years old, and the band is better each time they get a new album or they play live, this is the best version and the best live performed of bono, and larry, i live in Brazil, i had traveled to europe and usa, for a U2 show, saw than 5 times but never listen a music like ths, thanks to post.
it sounds pre-recorded until halfway through. Then it sounds like the live drums kick in. I wonder if this isn't another drummer? Doesn't sound quite like Mullen Jr. to me.
Some people who only know the 'spaceships', the videos or the 'radio friendly' U2 songs - the commercial schmaltz - tend to sneer in their youthful apathy that U2 is dad rock.
Yep, it is...rock was invented by people who are all dads by now (grandads even) and they know how to do it best. This is U2 without the pyrotechnics; more grit, more full blooded rawness and steam than a sack full of young pretenders. U2 started raw, rough and real - they don't need lessons from 21st century kids.
Awesome! Not just live, but full band electric! Fantastic! Thanks a lot! Do you have The Hands That Built America, the version they played right after this one?
BTW, 4:45 Bono does some bonogolese arab singing =P
2003-02-21 - New York, New York - Marriott Marquis Hotel, that is it mate! Its a class song, i can't get it out of my head!! U2 are definatly the best band ever, live and stuido!!
this version might be new york 2003 but the song was first played 1990. It's the only u2 song that hits the right note with me. Gary Numan overtones. His ealy stuff
why U2 is really really great? because they can´t do covers like the original ones. You can hear an other song when they play one of it...this is fantastic, and it sound better than the original, ha!
w/o Larrry they never would have formed. Every member is key to the music and business of U2. All are equally essential to her success. Each personality levels the rest to create U2 the music and the business. Adam was key with many business dealings that made U2 big and he also adds groove to the music. We all know about Edge's and Bono's contributions because they are more in front of the fans.
Imagine all the ladies and gents in tuxedos. You can hear the crowd reaction and it's sort of groovy, sort of hesitant if they were allowed to see such passion at an event like this...
I've seen the live performance, televised, and it was great, but it was some sort of gala, and only The Edge and Bono were there, not the full band, and other musicians(I don't remember who) helped out...
Brilliant! !!!!

Magnifico, only U2 and Bono's vocals to make a song be better than the voice of Sinatra. No doubt the guys are the best in the world.

It's def a drum track, much like they do for Crazy Tonight live

Cole Porter said this song was about obsession, not love - and U2 nails it. This is amazing. I hope Porter can hear it in the afterlife.

WHOA, at the end...that's it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I have never heard a sound so beautiful as Bono's voice.

I Think What Bono Is The Face Of U2, But Edge Is The 60% Of It. Everything Of U2 Is From The Edge´s Head.
