  • My two-year old daughter wanted to watch this again and again. She responded to parts of the video, where the fish creature was looking at the security guard, with "sad" and "he's hurt." Good video.

  • 03:40 was very touching for me... and then the next parts were intense as well. awesome job, especially it's music are sad and beautiful.

  • this video made my cry again after many months since I've seen it first.

  • Somehow this video made me thirsty

  • The scene where he was lying alone on the single patch of dry land was very powerful for me. Really put the fish folk's plight into perspective.

  • 6:00 -- Watching this scene in particular, I couldn't help but think: Thank goodness George Lucas didn't make this short. In the near future, he would add "Noooo!" and then a longer "Noooooooo!" just to make 100 percent sure we knew what the guy was thinking.

  • Survival of the fittest. It's only natural.

  • Beautiful...

  • Incomplete story. Chris Perry is a DOUCHE!

  • 12:47 london,england

  • ...nature cannot exist except that something must be given-up in order that something may continue... Torque for speed and vice-versa... sweet for sour... acid for base... positive or negative... north polarity/south polarity... good & bad.

No two may exist in the same space or mind: You either believe -or you DON'T!

  • @SittingMooseShaman That's just human instinct. We instinctively grew and evolved with black/white thinking patterns. Do not assume that the entire universe works similarly to ourselves. And beyond that, it isn't very difficult to find a middle ground in anything, you just have to use your brain and notice the obvious similarities.

  • live for some, means death for others

  • Why didn't that little fish-guy help the bald-guy out? Bald-guy let fish-guy live when he threw him back in the pitcher of water...

Fish-guy should have realized that bald-guy wasn't a bad guy for taking the water from the little fish-guys, he was just a security dude.

Fish-guys' should have helped bald-guy before the dome collapsed and obviously drowned him.

    That's messed up... >_>

  • @mclazyi how could he have helped him out?

  • @bokajon If those little fish-guys' can make water suits, I'm sure they could figure out a way to help bald-guy.

  • @mclazyi Good point :)

  • @mclazyi I say that the ending is great as is. I didn't want it to have some Disneyfied, Hollywoodized artificially and superficially "happy" ending. The disappearance or death of the man makes it more poignant.

  • @mclazyi That's what the fish was trying to do when it ran out the door. it realized that there was no point in destroying the siphon anymore, so it tried to stop its partner. Afterwards there wasn't much it could do to help him.

  • SOUNDTRACK??????

  • No, No, No your all wrong! The real morale to this story is don,t fuck with magical swimming lizzards that know how to use guns! Now you,ve learnt something new today by reading this comment!

  • WAtch this funny one here /watch?v=F23Gb-nrQrM&feature=channel_video_title

  • wow...amazing....thought and heart provoking....and look mom....not blood guts or nudity. Truely creative and inspiring ! thank you so much for sharing your talent with us

  • very nice short film. great animation. great message. i understand that the events in the short had to happen that way to convey the story but i cant help to think why didn't the fish just try to blow up the pump at the bottom instead of climbing all the way to the top. sorry for nitpicking. again awesome short!

  • So did the Chubby Dude die, because that's fucked up he did.

  • I liked the part when he turned to the frog and then looked at his reflection in the window.

  • WOW. amazing. kekekestarr sent me.

  • He saves the ecosystem and forces millions of people to go without water and die.

  • how is terrorism not the solution? the lake was restored by terrorism. the guy spent how long draining that lake? at the end in all likelihood the destroyers of this planet won't change their minds, and terrorism restored that lake. If "terrorism is not the answer" is your opinion that's fine, but this film doesnt say that. This ending is more complex and not applicable in a larger scale where if the means by which people were destroying this planet were destroyed the destruction would end too

  • @tinymanbigheart Without the terrorist action the security man would never had known there was fish in the water. But he desides to let the water back. However without damaging the huge ball. My guess is he was going to let most the water og all of it back, and then close the tower. But because of the 2nd terrorist attack (gun) the entire thing is destroyed and he dies. So it doesn't really say anything about what terrorism does besides changes things.

  • @thebadwolf89 I agree. However, I'm baffled by how much sense you make though, being a youtube comment.

  • @tinymanbigheart It was bound to happen some time right? ;)

  • youtube search: p7EUwagp14k

  • cool

  • that fat security guy looks like the heavy from TF2 :D

  • It felt like a 1 hour whole movie

  • human have to think about it

  • you'd think that if a structure like that were built it would take more to break it than one bullet.

  • I think i know the true message... fat people ruin everything

  • Where those mutated fish?

  • Are thos supposed to be mutated fish?

  • We as humans must strike a proper balance with Nature, or Nature will take it back, and probably destroy us in the process.

  • add me

  • too melancholic for me

  • /watch?v=WVX0GdlIdHg

  • so sad.... :(

  • Even if you do not agree with the policies the US government carries out that is NO excuse to kill innocent humans. All these cyber butthurt jihad losers say "the evil empire blah blah blah muslim holy lands" but they dont realize is the government, who actually commit said acts, and the people are two different factions! This why their ignorant little sand people population is still so far behind the rest of the world

  • So is this what the Heavy does when he's not fighting in tf2?

  • Moral come out with massive army to take back land and kill the animals? JK JK JK KJ JK JK JK JK

  • 10.000 people then died from famine and drought over some worthless frogs.

  • fish dont have feelings

  • Canada has 33% of the worlds freshwater, wants the US runs out there just going to invade us like they did to Afghanistan.

The United States government are the real terrorists.

  • @SquaredArts No ones the teriost theres peole in us and canada so shut up

  • @Spinort27 Shut up you ignorant bastard, its a figure of speech come back to me when you understand.

  • precioso

  • v-v... -cried-

  • Gee, I wonder what happened at 38.

  • The sky is falling, the sky is falling!

Implement a one-world dictatorship as quickly as possible!!!

  • wow i found this incredibly misleading.

  • I think people are going way too far one way or the other. How can you consider the steward a terrorist? He is just a guy working a job to survive like anyone else. I wouldn't consider the creatures terrorist either. I think both parties did something without fully realizing the consequeces of their actions and without full understanding the situation. The moral of the story should be to know and understand things before you do something.

  • @jjmonns I could not agree more

  • @jjmonns agreed.

  • RIP

  • Awesome

  • The lil frogmen - Humans it shows how little we really are!

  • When we try to solve our problems with global climate change, it will be too late.

  • thought it was going to be horrible turned out to be truthful and sad.

  • Moral of the story: don't wait until it's too late to try to turn back changes to the environment because it might be the doom of mankind though nature will find a way.

Thumbs up so people get it.

  • @TheXand19 you are excluding humans from nature? ants build ant hills....we build houses. Everything is a cycle of nature.

  • @TheXand19 you are excluding humans from nature? ants build ant hills....we build houses. Everything is a cycle of nature.

  • @TheXand19 no, i dont think thats it... you seems very self centred

  • @TheXand19 no, i dont think thats it... you seems very self centred

  • @TheXand19 Thumbs down. The moral of the story is that even if we mend our ways nature will kill us because we deserve it.

  • @TheXand19 no fool the moral of the story is how big corporation in developed Countries are making the most out of Developing Countries resources at the price of human life and their environment. and turning blind eye for the problems.

  • @TheXand19 no fool the moral of the story is how big corporation in developed Countries are making the most out of Developing Countries resources at the price of human life and their environment. and turning blind eye for the problems. like cheap labor + cheap resources at big cost of the lives of the population.

  • It was well produced and I see what it's trying to say, but I don't think it was "amazing" or "deeply emotional". It's already obvious that people are destroying ecosystems and the lifestyles of animals, this video didn't really make me "think". It didn't "touch" me, as someone said.

  • I would like to see someone do something like this about spiders, because they are always killed just because they are seen as creepy or scary. I have seen some videos of spiders that changed my mind about them. One is a video called "world's cutest jumping spider on my finger" by torn80cj and another one is called "the spider who couldn't hide" by colorscheme." Oh yeah, one more that is definetly awesome, it's a video called "phidippus putnami spider being cute" by torn80cj.

  • that was amazing and enjoyable to watch.

  • wow. just wow. Amazing and stunning

  • tf2?

  • its...brilliant

  • Fail humans..

  • i dont get it

  • why does this remind me of TF2

  • were that motherf*cker at?

  • how can anyone dislike this?

  • Beautiful work.

  • Wow.. that was sad :(

  • That was... GRIPPING.

  • Nice to meet this video.Nice job!

  • HEEEEEELP! Youtube/reggiewriteous

  • what they want to be the moral: What's dirt for one man is gold for ten others.

what the real moral is: Frogs are crafty little assholes.

  • I fast forwarded past the credits hoping for the proverbial happy ending to the film. None came. I see two sides to the film. 1. We,as humans, are destroying the eco systems of our planet with our greed and uncaring. But also 2. Terrorism is not the solution.

  • @themitch1966 The terrorism came in the form of what the guy working in the tower was doing to those creatures. Those creatures were just fighting for survival and fighting for what was originally theirs. I'm sure that if this was real life, the powers that be would label these creatures as "insurgents".

  • @themitch1966 omg i was going to type virtually the same comment before i read your comment. what a poignant film.

  • fantastic .. any movie that good without a word is fantastic ..

  • i'm love'n it

  • for more shortmovies etc i recommend you vimeo.com..youtube just gets spammed with bullshit

  • Moral of the Story: Guns kill people.

  • don't understand... can some1 explain ??

  • @chingykun basically, the two fish are trying to save their lake by blowing up the tower, but then he finds the fish and releases some of the water. What he doesnt know is that the other fish is about the shoot the tank releasing all of the water at once. When the guard found out that he would not survive he just waited on the wood.

  • @purplegill10 Thank you!

  • @chingykun yw!

  • That fat fish is fucked up

  • Moral of the story: Try to save the fish and you die.

  • Put water in a desert, makes another

  • A true work of art. This should be put on the required list of films that are shown to all schoolchildren.

  • clips like this prove that there might be hope for the human race. some still care, feel, love. amazing.

  • @novesia hope for humanity? He got outsmart by a damn fish-frog hybrid. Hes a fucking idiot, there is no hope for a race of idiots.

  • @Silverjda I was referring to the creators of this clip. apparently some people with great talent and a heart and a brain really *care*. they manage to touch many others and provoke some thoughts. *that* gives me hope.

  • @Silverjda You know this is animation..

  • very creative. Good guys always finish last.

  • the music definately added emotion and body to the film... well done! (i dont know much about animation, but i do know that it-the animation- was well done as well).

  • Excellent and wonderful

  • wow, just wow.. wonderful story.

  • This is awesome

  • Cuando la naturaleza pide su espacio, es implacable, incluso con aquellos que la queremos proteger....

  • The way this movie was able to illicit an emotional response is really what animation is all about for me - Congratulations for a job exceptionally well done!

  • Outstanding!!!

    Bravo!!

    On a related subject:

Daniel Shays' home in Pelham was destroyed and the surrounding lands flooded during the creation of the Quabbin Reservoir in the 1930.

  • Beautiful film. Near perfect and I love the clouds. I think a great litle addition would be the stationman's hat floating through the water post credits. Eerie!!! Again, love it!

  • @CommonRaven

    "Childish, at best."

    Ad... hominem?

  • i saw this at a film festivle 2 years ago and this is the first time ive seen the full version

  • How many died through lack of water after the destruction?

  • @max1247 mmm maybe the other 36 towers could handle it

  • @CommonRaven "Peak oil is a myth"

    100% confirmed Troll

To everyone else reading this, don't listen to such shit. Don't believe me? Fine, just know that the international energy agency concluded in their 'energy outlook 2010' that crude oil production will never again exceed that of 2006. Also know that to believe oil, food, and water can be isolated and unrelated from one and other shows a huge ignorance to the workings of industrial society.

  • finally, a good animated short where they have the guts to let the hero die.

  • @last1in Kiwi, bitch.

  • @BillSwift4

Kiwi wasn't the hero in the story. There was no hero in that story. A flightless bird destroyed what appeared to be hundreds of perfectly healthy trees, then jumped off a cliff to his death. If that's your idea of a hero, you have issues, bitch

  • @last1in I thought the hero was the fish who pulled the trigger...

  • is this really what happened?

  • OMg i love it but its sooo sad

  • There shouldnt be a single dislike on the film.

  • @CommonRaven It's the thorn in the anti-civ foot that just won't go away. I see it like this: 1) Many, probably more than you could imagine, are systematically being killed by those who benefit from this culture, human and nonhuman alike. 2) This culture is fundamentally unsustainable. It's foundation is oil, which peaked (globally) in 2006. 3) The longer we wait for the inevitable crash, the worse it will be. Yes, people will die. Probably me, but...Well, it's going to happen. Shitty, I know

  • @CommonRaven You mention 'growth requirements', are we required to grow? It seems to me that so many of the problems of the human race are based around the idea that growth is good, which I find baffling. More is not always better, something that most people don't even think about. Perhaps if people would accept that there is such a thing as having enough. As to death being the end-game of course it is, everything has the same limiter of a finite existence.

  • I thought fat ppl were supposed to float

    Anyway great film

  • I've never felt so sad about a short. Beautiful. Evocative.

  • @CommonRaven If I were to die tomorrow, the world would still go to shit. I, nor you, are culpable for the death of the planet just because we eat, or drink water, or use the internet. We are culpable if we do these things and we don't work to stop this death culture. We were born into this, and no amount of personal lifestyle changes (how ever much they may tell us) will stop those in power responsible for the destruction. What we need is resistance. Not eco-cars, recycling, or suicide...

  • @CommonRaven whoa bro, actually i was not trying to insult you, i just made a parody about "how gringos think", i dont even know if you are american... about that assumption of "anti-white", im latino, my parents are white, my girlfriend is white, more than the half of my friends are white...

have a nice life, take it easy ;)

  • any1 else notice that the water feeding out of the ball is thru a tube no thicker than a jar?

  • @CommonRaven no mucho

  • @CommonRaven gringo thinking right here...

  • it was almost made me cry. beautiful work, very emotional!

  • who would 'dislike' this?!??? this is awesome!!!!!!!

  • Cool short. But if it was meant to relate to anything real.... I would be disappointed.

  • this movie touched me in places my uncle couldn't even reach

  • Genius, sheer genius. Animation taken to a new level. Honest, sad, adorable, poignant.

  • Genius, sheer genius - animation taken to a new level . Honest, Sad, Adorable, Poignant

  • Ok, just to summ my thoughts about this short movie - Touching, deep, emotional, important and inspirational.

Great job creators of this film I had to watch it five times to absorb everything in it. I love the story, the music its cogency. Just wow. 5/5

  • May this story be the model of bringing down industrial civilization. The time has come to liberate the planet from the shackles of this culture, and no other animated film has shown so eloquently why. Thank you for this, it's so important to share more stories like these to help shape a just and sustainable future.

  • Such a poignant film. I've been sharing this with everyone I can. I saw it recently with my son at the International Children's Film Festival and was blown away by the power of this story and the way it is told. It was a nice benefit to see that the full version is available on YouTube.

  • emotion emotion emotion ,great job ,algeria thanks you man
