  • ridiculous talent....great album and too bad they were so short lived

  • MOTHER OF BASS!!!

  • Гм, очередное говно. "very, very technical" говно))) Непередаваемо хреново. Люди даже не знают, что такое музыка. Собралось несколько гаммодрочеров, и пилят че кому захочется. -2 из 10

  • progressive vocal OMG :|____|

  • insane Drumming

  • The part starting at about 0:57 ish is just so orgasmic. Shame these guys only ever put out one album. The Ron Jarzombek influence is also very obvious here. It's really just too bad that there aren't more prog metal bands in the vein of Watchtower and Spastic Ink , but I suppose the fact that Spiral Architect do a damn good job makes me forget about the limited quantity, since with this sort of music, quality certainly takes precedence.

  • Amazing song and band... very, very technical! I have yet to find a bassist that can rival the one in Spiral Architect! They really need to make another album!!

  • I like everything about this song :D

  • I wish there wasn't vocals... I prefer bands that don't have vocals because I am looking for a Animals as leaders/Blotted science/Liquid tension experiment - type music.

  • @NDF211Gunner Dysrhythmia. Go!

  • i'd only listen to this band for the bass lol

  • what a load of shit. what is it jazz metal

  • @starzscream614 go listen to Slipknot, you imbecile, if they are "the nine guys you want to see".. a bunch of posers.

  • @ranXerox09 that comment wasnt made by me it must have been brother so get fucked

  • some progressive bands were ok but this is ununderstandable

  • dat bass

  • wish they`d put out an instrumental version of the album the same way periphery did

  • Useless music....

  • @zeppelo no...useless brain & ears... i dont need to say who`s

  • @maniacablator ah ah ah ah ah ah ah.....

  • GAY

  • @LoboBLaxer you suck @zeppelo balls

  • jeez its music for all the musicians like me afflicted by A.D.H.D.

  • reminds me of something like Cynic meets Tool.

  • this band reminds me of the death metal band Atheist!

  • I don't care if it's complex, it sounds heartless. It's all frosting and no cake. The parts that flow are abruptly stopped by this strange need to just add some sort of complex technique. Kinda sounds forced. But if you like it you like it.

  • @bigawesomemullet This whole project was made to see what they can fit in to the progressive genre. This isn't music for the average listener this is more like music for the musicians.

  • Spiral Architect rules!!

  • the vocals are so fuckin AWESOME men!!!

  • come to mexico putos

  • Love the drum, bass and obviously the classic guitar part!! ♥

  • 20 think music should stay in a box and find this too complex to comprehend, and thats what SA is all about \m/.

  • wow sounds like Psychotic waltz worship meets inner sanctum still very cool but maybe this singer could add a bit of his other influences he comes across like Devon graves a little bit too much...very good musicianship though!!!!\m/ thats really a little too much devon graves worship thats not even original buy P.W. records !!!!

  • wow sounds like Psychotic waltz worship meets inner sanctum still very cool but maybe this singer could add a bit of his other influences he comes across like Devon graves a little bit too much...very good musicianship though!!!!\m/

  • the vocals are regular but it will be better with some growls

  • I love how over the top these guys are. So many great guitarists end up playing boring riffs in the name of good songwriting. This is just flat out awesome.

  • hell ya

  • this is 'math-core'? what the hell is 'math-core'? I'v never heard of this genre. It sounds pretty good. Vocals kind of sound like psychotic waltz.

  • the guitarist and drummer are in a band with Nocturno Culto of Darkthrone, i thought that was kinda weird.

  • omg I have just now discovered this

  • Comment removed

  • this is so fuckin crazy i cant even tell what the fucks going on!

  • i dont see whats wrong with the vocals Watchtower has similar vocals as well and sounded perfect to me

  • The guitarist is incredible \m/

  • ive been playing musical instruments of many kinds for many years... and although i dont like the vocals im not saying hes bad by anymeans just not my bag you know

  • 2:40 - 3:06

  • I think that bands like this suffer under the weight of their own complexity. Yeah, it's impressive that you can play a song in 31/8 time or whatever, but without any sort of emotional grounding to the song the complexity is just a gimmick. At the end of the day this isn't good songwriting, it's just a collection of riffs.

  • i am a BIg FAN of spiral architect, they didnt want to have so much feeling on the record, when you are talking about philosophical problems and stuff like that, what kind of emotion does it triggers? this is pure intelectual plesure, but i agree feeling is not theirthing, but they are so well grounded musicians and can do it,they just didt want to express that in this record,if you look to the lyrics, the music makes sense, but well check out twisted into form, its as complex but emotional too

  • trippy music ^_^ very interesting guitar, and the bass is awesome. very technical too, these guys are talented musicians. not loving the vocals, but i don't hate them either.

  • the morons dont even realize they are not criticising the singer but the vocal arrangements. as with the music, the vocals neither adhere to a typical 4/4 rythmic movement. This is especially challenging to do with vocals without sounding too wierd, or to embellish the melody without creating too much dissonance. Anyway im sure this discussion is over their heads as well as this music, and if they were to hear him doing iron maiden or judas priest they would think he was the shit.

  • damn...so prog men...

  • Spiral Architect released an album so complex they were not able to create another one since 2000 XD...we'll any song in this album will blow any pogo-stick metal song today...

  • That bass sounds like a deformation of Jaco's sound... Not quite as musical, yet.

  • sweet delicious complexity for my ears

  • I love it!!

  • Actually, the vocals fit perfectly. What's the matter with you people???

  • if spiral architect does read this comment section i'm inspired by your music if that counts for anything.

  • awesome song. Although i don't really like the vocals I don't mind them i love the instruments!

  • just incredible

  • One of the few bands that allow you to hear the bass.

And the vocals don't even sound that bad, in fact I quite like them.

  • I don't want to try to sound like everybody else on here, but the vocals don't fit this music. They just don't.

  • I don't want to try to sound like everybody else on here, but the vocals don't fit this music. They just don't.

  • NEEDS MORE BASS

  • i can hear the cynic influence

  • pururuduh, parududuh, puduh! cool riff, awesome band!!!!

  • @y7u7r7i that was funny dude... XD no really...i laughed like sh!t while reading your comment XD

  • Best band ever !! When would be a second album ?

  • Outro is great but I agree with many of the sentiments about this band.

  • awesome

  • This sucks in so many ways, it's not even the vocals that put me off but the totally uninspired use of instruments. These guys try way to hard to impress but totaly lose sight of the music. The progmetal band Haken is an example of tastefull songwrinting combined with almost every genre imaginable. Sorry guys, but this doenst do it for me. Although the technicality is very high

  • @Joostieboy totally uninspired use of instruments? idk about that.

  • @Joostieboy - No one asked you if this music "did it for you". Bands don't make music for those who hate it. They make it because they love it and share it with those who love it. You don't love it, go somewhere else. What's the point in telling people who work hard on their musical prowess that their offering is worthless?? Who are you??

  • @dogeymon83 Nice Montana quote with the 'WHO ARE YOU'. I am totally into progrock/progmetal and have some knowledge regarding this subject. And when compared, these guys just cant come near the skills that bands like Haken , Dream Theater, and many others, have.

  • @Joostieboy HAHA you have 'some knowledge' of progmusic and you say Haken and Dream Theater are way beyond Spiral Architect? Do you have any idea how many complex time signatures there are in a sceptics universe, compared to DT/hakens "7/4 verse and 4/4 melodic chorus", roflmao.

  • @kuronity Dude this song is simple when compared to the lets say the dance of eternity. The production quality is low, the use of totally untonal arpeggios are fucking uncalled for. The parts individualy aren't bad but its just not coherent. I would rather masturbate with sand paper then argueing about this shit.

    I hope you all die

  • @Joostieboy You have to be shitting me, any song by this band makes Dance of Eternity look like Nickelback in terms of complexity (which has no bearing on a song's emotional impact, but if you're bringing up DT...). If you don't like atonal music, stick to DT.

  • @PKATrain I know my music cocksucker, and there aren't that mutch signatureshifts in this song anyway, player a riff in lets say 7/4 and then playing a total new part in 5/8 doesn't make it prog. Any retard can play a riff , stop , and play a new riff with a different time signature. It's the flow of changing time signatures that makes a musical piece hard and interesting. This is just random ear rape. I would rather get raped by an aids infected black midget then listen to this crap. Please die

  • great till fucking singer from 1981 came in and fucked it up

  • Spiral Architect rape my mind.

  • very good, i prefer canvas solaris :)

  • Holy sh*t!

  • You know what band reminds me of these guys? Enditol. Sort of.

  • Great music and for once some great clean singing. Well done Spiral Architect.

  • Agreed However I did like the last groove with the vocals from 423 on

  • Fucking bassline! :|

  • thnx for the upload.. been waiting for this.. crazy fuckers these \m/

  • excellent vocals:)

  • vocals are awesome. screw you haters. go listen to something boring like white chapel or red chord

  • You guys hating on the vocals just because it doesn't fit in with your idea of metal are narrow minded. I'm sure most of you can't come close to creating anything like this. As a matter of fact, i'm sure most of you are just fanboys who don't actually play music -- just love to criticize it.

  • @thefedisking totally agree with you!!!!!!!

  • @thefedisking WTF?? These vocals are fine. I know metal, and these vocals are acceptable for a metal song...but, it's just my opinion.

  • @thefedisking

One requires no prerequisites to complain. Are you suggesting we cannot complain about a president unless we could run a country better? Can we not complain about burnt soufflé unless we are chefs ourselves?

Your retort that "[we] can't come close to creating anything like this" is incredibly stupid, and the fact that your comment is so highly rated is all the more evidence that metalheads are fucking retarded.

Congratulations on being elitist and illogical at the same time.

  • @mwtillotson A president runs a country for it's people. His actions are always under scrutiny as this prevents him from degrading into a tyrant or despot. If he fails, he fails you, and that alone warrants complaint. The same logic is applicable to a chef to a certain degree, whom when payed has a responsibility to you as the customer. If he should under cook or burn your food, a complaint is certainly in order, however, these are both definitive instances where we know a failure in delivery..

  • @mwtillotson ..has occurred. Can you readily identify such states of failure within music? Is there such a level where you can complain without objection from the artists? Your chef comparison is inherently wrong as it cites a universally accepted level of failure as grounds for complaint. Your comparison would make sense if you instead used a soufflé made to perfection, yet imbedded with a unique taste of its own attributed to its chiefs distinct style which you did not enjoy...

  • @mwtillotson ...Sure, you can then argue that a complaint can still be issued, but to whom would you complain? Would you complain to the chief, who has received praise and recognition for his style and delivery? What would you hope to accomplish? Would you complain about the soufflé, which many would attest to being perfect in it's flavor? Would you expect the ingredients to change? At the end of the day, it is YOU who did not enjoy the soufflé, and you have nothing to objectively complain...

  • @mwtillotson ..about other than your personal tastes. Music is similar in this manner, when we replace chef with musician and soufflé with compositions. "I did not enjoy these vocals" sounds infinitely better than "The vocalist is shit and anyone who thinks otherwise is retarded", would you not agree? Complaints are a necessity in life, as they incites change, but when change is not yours to dictate, complaints turn into criticisms, and as the original poster suggested...

  • ...critics just love to criticize. There's a reason why you wont find much accomplished musicians at the forefront of the musical critiquing scene. There's a certain level of mutual respect among musicians, who are all too familiar with the difficulties creating original music entails. At any rate, The original poster did not intend to have your right to complain taken from you, but instead wanted the criticizers to at least acknowledge the degree of talent needed in order to achieve such...

  • ..levels of composition, and perhaps lead them to reassess their need to complain so eagerly about the music, and instead maybe realize that the problems lie largely within their preferences. At least that's how I took it to mean. And as for your comment on metalheads being retarded, well, the original poster was in fact condemning them to begin with, so any likes thereafter would likely be in the same disapproving vein.

  • @thefedisking u gotta love Psychotic Waltz dude

  • @thefedisking the right to critisize music is not limited only to musicians, but to anyone with ears...everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion...

  • 3:46 to 3:55 = omgwtfbbq

  • Prog metal artists got talent beyond this galaxy

  • Too fucking talented for their own good! Too bad they can't actually write songs to save their lives.

  • the vocal part at 1:11 is orgasmic. amazing band, too bad they've only put out one full length. very obvious Watchtower/Spastic Ink influence. just awesome.

  • the vocal is great

  • Reminds me of Cynic

  • 4:41 - The only vocals I approve of.

  • @Gore1NOT1Core cosign

  • @Gore1NOT1Core agreed

  • Comment removed

  • Bunch of Norwegian black metal musicians who took way too much crack before writing music...

  • omg its so beautiful

  • J'adore!

  • i really can't see why ppl hate these vocals

  • ... sounds like Psychotic Waltz !

  • I love this bassist really cool lines good definition excellent sound

  • I Love the vocals too !

  • @Longlivethe4th completely agree, they're pure feeling :)

  • Super Bass Band !

  • i hate the vocals..... i prefer intrumentals for genres like these

  • srry fellas, but i love the vocals.

    greetings from brazil.

  • Bass

  • Damn it!!!! Just once I'd love to find a band that starts off awesome like this one without turning into intolerable crap the moment the vocals spew forth!!!!!!!!!

  • @ytsejam6891 Just like Cellador?

  • oh thank god, i just came from a viameora video i needed this this is real tech metal

  • Fates Warning cover is great, off the Jap release for this album

  • it's like some freaky combination of orimus and jazz and judas priest. and it's exploding my mind.

  • if Eve Online were converted into music......this would be the result

  • I Love this!!!This FEEDS my mind.Blotted Science also.

  • wow, this is really, really hard stuff !!!

  • @Aaeternitade It hates you too.

  • @Aaeternitade That's because your brain cannot keep up with it.

  • @cubuletzul no...i just dont like this kind of technical-jazzy stuff, gimmie nile, disavowed or necrophagist anytime over this.

and if you're planning to say somethin clever like "then why are you even here", that's bcuz i like to check stuff before judging it.

  • @Aaeternitade Good thing you check first, but can't you just check without commenting? Or, if you comment, can you give objective arguments instead of just saying that you hate or dislike it?

  • @Aaeternitade niles horrible watch their demo vids lmao

  • fuck yeah

  • progresive jazz metal. lol this shits sweet.

  • awesome los jiles qls xd

  • wow this is intense and VERY technical haha

  • check out Blotted Science.. or anything by Ron Jarzombek in saying that.

  • not a fun of vocal, but the song sounds great

  • check out Blotted Science if you want to hear stuff like this with no vocals.. and a hell of a lot more complex.

  • yes, Blotted Science is AMAZING.

  • @boobtbam This is more complex than Blotted Science

  • 3:50 is fucking awesome

  • im all for insane time changes, but this is just too much. you need to be able to feel the groove for more than 2 measures

  • I guess it is a matter of taste, It works OK for me. I find the music really enjoyable and not only from the technical point of view.

  • awesome syncopations and changes of rythms, patterns and melodies. What a vortex of emotions!

  • their music is very close to watchtower, very close to perfection

  • I love Watchtower (they are the pioneers!), particularly Control and Resistance. However I think that these guys have taken their music one step forward. I find the songs more solid (better crafted).

  • This is damn near perfect when it comes to technical metal. I only wish there were two vocalists, so we'd have the clean vocals, which are awesome, and some harsh vocals now and then. That would be nice.

  • the vocal is gay ,but the music is perfect!!exellent musician

  • yep just because he's not screaming unintelligibly into a mic they're gay...

    makes seonse...

  • brilliant bass tone. Just wish there was more low end... then again I'm listening on laptop speakers. =P

  • lol the bass player is a fucking nutcase man.....definitely the instrument that sticks out the most to me, and I don't even play bass.

  • Bass player is talented, but I hate his sound on this song...unless by insect they mean his sound, then I GET IT!!! And his voice is very Joey Belladonna'ish...

  • I guess it's pure preference then... I think that type of bass tone is awesome.

  • Awesomely technical.

Singing is good, maybe just not POWERFUL enough.

  • are you kidding ?! vocals are perfect

  • FFFFFFFAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIILLLLLLLL

  • i love the vocals, very powerful and distinct. they stuck to my head

"i've seen tomorrows sun die.. through the darkened sky"

    -IMO just fkn brilliant!

  • I hate the vocals,

  • Oh god. shit vocals, clean is okay, but not like this. this sounds like dream theater.

  • Ugh, damn good instrumentals, fucked voice :/ I love clear voices problem his is just... powerless.

  • AWSOME

  • Vocals remind me more of Avantasia, actually...

  • This is the first time I've heard them, and I really dig what they're doing

The vocals are cool, too. I saw people didn't like them, and was expecting screams, gurgles, or anything else, but not clean!

It makes me think of Dream Theater going schizophrenic

I wonder if clean vocals could become more prominent in metal? That might be really cool

  • the instrumentation is too crazy. the vocals take away from it

  • mostruosi

  • These should stick to instrumentals, vocals put me off :/

  • I dont like the vox too much either.

  • @garmiesterpoo No, vocal are good.

  • @vef444 ?
