  • Great video bro thx for the upload

  • This is off the S/T Sevendust album. A really good song, this album wasn't as crushingly heavy as "Home", but employed a lot more mellow groove and soulfull melody. It really bears the mark of its Southern influence, straight ATL metal if there was.

  • For years since the mortal kombat soundtrack came out i felt that this was the singer for sevendust. Thanks for that little info.

  • moooorrrtttaaalllll kooommmmbbbaaaattttt

  • um...........whats up with the bear?

  • Actually they did have to change their name because another band called crawlspace had the rights to that name and sent them a notice saying if they wanted that name they would sell it to them for 50.000 dollars. So instead they came up with sevendust.

  • @glammetalsux,...Sevendust was not even a band in 92 - 94,...cause Clint Lowrey was in a band called Still Rain,...& Lajon Witherspoon was in a band called Body & Soul,...& Morgan Rose was in a band called Snakenation. They did'nt really get together till late 95 - early 96! How do I know this you ask? Well I was in Atlanta GA from 93 - late 95.

  • great song, gay video.

  • i was looking for my ruin.... i love it when you cant get what you wanted but you find summet better.... gunna have to look into these guys :)

  • didnt they spell it Krawlspace on the MK sountrack, i cant remember, i owned the TAPE, yeah back in the tape days lol

  • @chickenbiscito I have it on CD. It's called Mortal Kombat: More Kombat. They spell their name with a C. The names of the bands are in all Caps locks, as are the titles of the songs. This album was one of the first I ever owned on CD, the first of course being the Space Jam Soundtrack, both of which I still have.

  • @razorramone63139

lol yeh i remember space jam with r kelly i believe i can fly and busta rhymes with that YOU CAN HIT EM HIGH HIT EM HIGH HIT EM HIGH son

but i had the tape of More Kombat, I thought they spelled it with a K because of mortal "Kombat"

  • @chickenbiscito If the owners of Mortal Kombat had the rights to the band, I'm sure it WOULD have been spelled with a K. But that wasn't the case. The only songs off this album I liked were "My Ruin" and the track right after it "Spaceman" by Babylon Zoo. Yeah, Space Jam had some awesome tracks on it. Hell, it had Barry White on the "Basketball Jones" track. Him and Chris Rock. lol

  • I dont think the intro and guitar solo are in the 7dust version, can anyone verify its been years since I had this album

  • They were called Sevendust when this came out...1st or 2nd album...Can't remember

  • One of my all time favorites

  • I thought this was always sevendust.

  • O well. Clint did not do this song.

The first Sevendust guitarrist was Lee Banks. You can listen the demo of many song of the self titled where he play.

  • This was one of the best songs on their first album (which they released under the name Sevendust) I was there from album #1 too ;-)

  • Awesome Song

    I Love It^^

  • fucking good song i actually thought it was for my ruin the band:P so basically i found this song by mistake:P! i love it.. lyrics are great

  • Good song old song & i have heard it wenn i was very jung on pirate Mortal Kombat OST in russia. & it steel sounds great & maybe some of a bit better than many of a nu shity wave ... )

  • 7Dust has really great music!!! Leon you go man!!

  • this song was never on the mortal kombat cd dumbass! stick to wut u know cuz i t isnt music

  • It was on a release that was not a soundtrack, just a compilation of artists from TVT Records/Wax Trax! in 1996 called "Mortal Kombat: More Kombat." Many songs on that album are exclusive, and trust me, you'll have a hard time finding them anywhere else on the artists' studio albums. (One song by Alien Factory, "Higher," did make it into a Mortal Kombat movie, however.)

  • love it

  • what part in the actual movie do they play My Ruin like whats happining during the song playing?

  • it's not actually in the movie.

  • actually i have their debut album and this song is on it. so there were called Sevendust then.

  • This song was credited on a Mortal Kombat soundtrack as Crawlspace. They then released it on the Sevendust album after the name change.

  • Turns out that a band on the West coast claimed that name before Sevendust did, thus facilitating the name change. I still know them as Crawlspace from their first single released on "Mortal Kombat: More Kombat," though.

  • I agree........debut BLACK album.....Serious 7Duster here

  • @rascalrabbyt NO! you are WRONG. This is a different version of the song. The "Crawlspace" version has cool echo-electronic effects added to the vocals and definitely sounds better. Alot of people have that Sevendust debut album, and seems like you do too... but that dont mean that they were not going by the name Crawlspace when they recorded the song Mkay?! Smartass. Go shrivel up and die in Hot Topic.

  • cj I kind'a disagree with u. I mean they lost a voice ya. But Personally Sonny is a better guitarist. And NEXT and Alpha were harder than anything Clint was with. Even Hope & Sorrow had taken it back to the older 7D but Sonny was the guitarist at the time of the release. Don't believe me? Look on the CD Clint wasn't with them and they still brought the old school feel back

  • I must disagree with you. When Clint was there they had a more mosh-friendly, breaking glasss style. Sonny, however was more melodic. I think Clint is a better guitarist but I do give Sonny credit.

  • This song was on the Mortal Kombat Original Soundtrack I have it and I believe it's the 9th track this song is great I love it!

  • no not true they def lost a the original sound when clint left and sonny gave them too much of a mainstream metal feel. listen to dark new day and you hear what sevendust lost. back to basics now that clint is back the old school sevendust sound is back. connolly is great dont get me wrong but the bands distinctive guitar punch is clint not to mention without his vocals how could sevendust be sevendust without LJ, morgan, and clint on vocals.

  • you can def. hear the formula in songwriting early on in this song. They have kept it throughout the bands history thanks to john Connolly. I'm sure glad though that Clint's back to add to a new album, I'm excited to see what they can create fresh after growing musically and being apart for several years.

  • To my knowledge they were Sevendust. It was on their self titled album. Great song.

  • yea but they also released it as one of their 1st demo songs when they were Crawlspace 'back in the day' lol, its also on a Mortal Kombat sndrck, im not sure which band name its under though, im too lazy to take 20 seconds to check online lol

  • It's under Krawlspace. Listen to that version of this song, it's a lot more chilling.

  • Classic Track!!!!! this cut inspired me to branch out and listen to more than just hip hop and R&B, no bullshit. Lajon Witherspoon has a voice unparallel to anyone else. Sevendust always!!!!!!

  • omg i totally agree!!

have u ever heard them perform this song live?!!

his voice sounds even more sensual and deeper... its amazing :)

  • Yeah you have the name right "Crawlspace" but they didn't know that someone else already owned copyrights to "Crawlspace" so "Sevendust" was the new name. <:-D

  • the best song ever ^^ his voice is so beautiful.... *chill* :-)

  • this was also my favorite track off the first sevendust album?!

  • This was on one of the Mortal Kombat cds.

  • That solo is the absolute fuckin shit!!

    ~chills~

  • 1:52 oh dang I thought I was going to pass out till I looked away from the screen.

  • Hell yah good video post! I love to turn the bass all the way up on music like this.

  • This track is so awsome to smoke a spliff to.

  • nice as hell i have to get this album

  • This song reminds me of a cold and dark environment.

  • yes this was off their first album and by the way just so you know they were always named as Sevendust

  • On the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, two years before their debut CD, they were listed as Crawlspace. They had to change their name because another band already had it. So they changed to Sevendust.

  • if you guys never knew this song my ruin was on the first mortal kombat

  • this song was on the self titled album which was in 1997.

  • I have a question... In wich year sevendust did the songs of their first album ???

    1995 ?

THIS SONGS ROCKSSSSS. THE FIRST ALBUM IS HEAVIER THAN THE OTHERS. IN SONGS LIKE "WIRED" , "TERMINATOR" OR "BORN TO DIE" THE LAJON's VOICE IS VERY STRONG. I STRANGE THIS POWERFULL VOICE.

BUT , SEVENDUST IS THE BESTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

    Greetings from PERU

  • Ok check it out. Sevendust was called Crawlspace during '92 - '94 then changed it to Sevendust in '95 or '96. I was playing in a few bands in Atlanta during the Crawlspace days. But they weren't forced to change the name, they just did it cuz of the new line up. During Crawlspace it was only Lajon and Clint that moved to Sevendust. Btw, Clints brother was in a band called Stuck Mojo.

  • oh cool thanks

  • no problem

  • one of the dudes was in Still Rain back in the day

  • damn right, I forgot all about them, thanx for the reminder

  • it was clint lowery(guitarist)

  • yeah Clint played in Still Rain (guitarist) and Corey played in Stuck Mojo (bass)

  • I'm all cracked out..........ON CRACK!!!!

  • @glammetalsux Actually they were forced to change it. A band that was named Crawlspace in Cali already had copyrighted the name, and when they saw the name "Crawlspace" on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, they told 7d they had to change the name or they'd take legal action. Clint was in the band under the name "Crawlspace", replacing this other guy originally in his place named Lee Banks. Sevendust was the exact same lineup as Crawlspace, they just had to change the name cause of legality

  • I know that song from Mortal Kombat compilation.

was The band called CRAWLSPACE before?

  • I believe so but then they ahd to change it to sevendust

  • yes they were

  • Thanx for posting this man. Nice video too!

  • One of my fav songs of all time!

    So dark, deep, melodic...

    Never tier of hearing it!

  • Awesome song, nice video.

  • Amen sir... Gotta love 90's rock

  • One of my favorite songs from way back. Sevendust is a badass band, and what's funny is this is the only video of My Ruin. GJ!

  • great song!

  • ♠Hey this are a

  • Kill yourself.

  • a truly dark song i love it thx for posting

  • old school. fuck yeah.

  • HELL YEAH!!!!!!! lol

  • <3 I love this song && Sevendust.

  • me too ;)

  • finnaly someone posted something with this song, it's my favorite sevendust song and for that i must thankyou, also sorry trying not to sound like a know it all, but your both right, if you look on the mortal kombat: more kombat soundtrack you can find them under the name crawlspace and the saoundtrack came out a year or so before the sevendust cd did.

  • cool, thats awesome :)

  • This song was from their self titled album Sevendust.

Thanks for this song it is my favorite of Sevendust.

Sorry but the video is a little too sweet for the sound of the song. HA!

  • But sevendust is sweet!!! lol I just made it because i was testing out all the crap in windows movie maker :p lol
