  • I bet you can't wait for her to start mimicking that pogo stick in the background, haha. She's a gorgeous bird, congratulations.

  • First in the shower, now outside... your baby always looks shocked! hahaha. But veryyy cute! :)

  • your grey was very affectionate as a baby. does she still let you scratch her like that? my grey will let me basically tickle him all over but only when he is in the mood. and if i ever tried to put a harness on him he would chomp me good for sure. how about ruby now that she is older?

  • That is a beautiful bird you have :)

  • she is gorgeous

  • @MediaMast3r fuck off you cunt

  • @MediaMast3r WTF?!

  • awww how sweet im getting a baby african gray it will ready to come home in about 4 weeks and i want to harness train it so i can take it out is it difficult to do ? any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated : )

  • @xxonehotlennonxx he does enjoy his walk as he sits on my shoulder and he sings and talks but it mainly putting his harness on and taking it off its not a nasty vicious squark

  • Ruby seems like the sweetest parrot :)

  • i have a grey we got him aged 3 months he is now aged 14 months. i got ours a feather teather harness which i started using from 3 months old and we take him out on regular walks. but i find my grey squarks still when putting the harness on but i can fit it on him without too much trouble and he squarks when coming to take the harness off. once the harness is on him he is fine and he will sit nicely on my shoulder but if the lead touches his feet he will squark and he chews the harness. any tip?

  • @razordogz Sounds like he doesn't like it :P

  • Such a pretty bird. I just ordered a harness for my baby grey - did you have a hard time getting yours in it? He seems comfortable in it.

  • Beautiful!!! unfortunately my African will not let you touch him around the neck at all... other then that very friendly. She does however let my brother touch because he took of her when she was younger.

  • beautiful bird and very tame!

  • lol her face says it all! and the fluffed up feathers on her head and neck are a sign that shes like WTF lol

  • Ruby is all puffed up still very cute tho

  • Umbro, nice...

  • ohhhh laaay! oh lay oh lay or lay ohhhh LAYYY!

  • 0:11 HOLY SHIT

  • You've got a very happy healthy parrot which is always a joy to see! I really want an african grey but the circumstances aren't right just yet. When I do get one it won't be allowed outside, we've got a resident (and very bold) sparrowhawk :-/

  • She's gorgeous.

  • Is she a Congo or a Timneh? Eyes are dark so hard to tell. Nice either way though thanks for the cute post.

  • @hommie789 she is a congo, you can see that on the beak, a timneh would have a light beak (but only the top of it) .....i dont think you can tell from the eyes....???

  • Awesome video

  • Thats a really sweet bird,, I can just imagen how she feels, being outside and taking it all in....Thanks for sharing..

  • She's beautiful! If she a Congo or Timneh?

  • Does she bite???

  • aaaaw! Ruby is so lovely!....my greatest wish is to get one of those birds....but it seems like my mother hates me..... :(

  • @SuperJorunn cumon does ur mum really hate u thats not true=)

  • well cute

  • I also have a African Grey but she is scared for the harness I brought,

How have you learned your african grey to not be scared for the harness?

    Thanks :)

  • @Justcallmekimmy: There's some great harness training videos on youtube. Try looking up Kili Senegal Parrot - Flight Harness Training Day 1. There's a whole series :)

  • i want to eat your bird as he is so cute... (well not really eat him)! love greys!

  • what ttype of bird is this?

  • @sindel411 its an african grey

  • OMG I WANT ONE!!!!! SHE IS SOOO CUTE I AM NOW BEGGING MY MOM FOR ONE

  • parrots are hard to keep... and have the needs of a 5 year old child... if you don't take good care of them, then will behing mutilating themselves (plucking their own skin and feathers off....).... please dont get one on a whim... research a lot...

  • @melitic haha I am not getting one. my mom way like no. And my ant has one. :)

  • @melitic Very true, another thing is that they can live up to around 50 years. That's a long time to keep something which has the needs of a five year old. :P People getting these birds without researching them can lead to heartbreaking stories.

  • awww she looks so relaxed to be outside! i love this

  • she's like ahhh! Get me out of here! I like my cage! lol

  • My amazons have their wings clipped.. Where do you find a harness for a bird?

  • CUTE

  • what is the black thing on him

  • I bet the sky is freaking her out

  • My African Grey's eyes are really light, how come Ruby's are dark? Is it because she is older?

  • @JadeIsAGoodGirl No, the opposite. She was a baby in the video therefore had dark eyes. Ruby's eyes are now lighter and they go lighter and more yellow as they age.

  • @lisacleverley very pretty. i am about to purches my first grey he is 8 mo. old should i start taking him outside right away? and where can i get a bird harness

  • @JadeIsAGoodGirl Your parrot have a Yellow Eye right?

It is because it is Older and Could talk.

  • Whats this bird smoking????

  • she looks really small

    she a baby right?

i can tell because her face isnt matured ahah

  • flight suits can seriously hurt the bird

  • she looks paralized in awe at 0:35

  • Awesome, and I am glad you mentioned the harness. Even a parrot that has been trimmed can fly away in a breeze especially if frightened. Parrots do not know how to find there way back. They are not like pigeons. This parrot looks very well loved!

  • @aviannightmare

We had that kind of parrot, and it once flew out by an accident in the winter. Was gone for 2 days, then all of the suddenly we saw him on our porch.

  • @joacareface Wow, I am so glad you were lucky enough to get him back! That is great to hear!

  • @aviannightmare Youre right. Our parrot flew away because she was frightened. We were SO lucky that we''ve got her back. It was a miracle. She landed 4 streets away in the front yard of a house and the owner saw her! even though it was dark. I've never been so happy because she never could have survived on her own

    So be carefull with birds

  • @aviannightmare my african flew away (we were devistated and tried searching for her for 2 whole days) but then a few days later we found her walking on our neighbors backyard (she knew her way back home)

  • i have a cousin with an african grey congo and i live with her and the parrot is soooo cheeky she swears and everything is that normal? Her name is kanga and she never shuts up she wolf whistles to my boyfriend everytime she sees him

  • her feathers are just beautiful and so is she,she looks like shes checking out the surroundings and everythinhg

  • Maybe I should get a harness for my Blue- although he doesn't try to get away-

  • AWW x3

  • She looks super smart, always careful about surroundings, she thinks human are just bounch of idiots.

  • shes beautiful !!

  • She's adorable!

  • Watch out for the big owls that will come down & dip her up & away. They do cats

    & dogs too. really.

Beautiful Parrot Ruby. She's loves to talk. She asks about a cat. do you have one?

  • beautiful bird, how old???

  • i can see on her fur she's exited:) good thing she didn't fly away. she have good trust in you:)

  • Birds have feathers not fur. XD

  • Ebay

  • anybody knows where to buy a harness in singapore?

  • what a precious little baby you have there.

  • ya know..a regular chicken is more cost effective. Im surprised that you are actually thinking about eating a $1000 bird.

  • @alibaba9999 Try teriyaki sauce and green onions soaked in mandarin orange juice. No no I'm just kidding. I LOVE birds but I thought you were pretty funny unlike most youtube trolls. Plus everyone in my family has that same dark sense of humor.

  • she is sooooo cute

  • She's like.. "Am i suppose to fly now?????" O.o

  • god these things are dinosaurs. Just watching their movements, it's like I'm seriously seeing a velociraptor. The only thing these animals are missing to complete the image are front legs, or arms. How can you not get the sense your looking into the eyes of an ancient creature when you look at these birds... amazing.

  • lool my parrot has a line too.and he doesnt like the line

  • so cute!! She was like: WHAAAT THE HEEEEEEECK?!?!?!

  • aww!! we have the same type of parrot!! in august (sometime in that month!) will be her 2nd bday!! we wanna get an avian diper (me and my bro want a pink one she is a grl parrot) and a harness to take her outside!! it seems soo cute buttttttt my parrot hates me!!

  • aww cute but i rememmber my first time i took my baby parrot out she was like starrign the sun all the time lol and then she kept whisteling ahaha

  • What a cutie!

  • Rossignol42, I'd start as soon as possible with the harness training :) I think the Aviator harness works the best. I trained my cockatiels at around a year old and they do really good. My BF just got an African Grey and I think I'm going to start harness training it soon, but the younger the better.

  • lol she looks absaloutly flabbergasted lol shes speechlessssss......

  • i thought the parrot was suppose to fly!!!;{{

  • soooo cute where did u get the harnest from??

  • You can get it in bird magizines and petco

  • I also have an african grey and his name is pepper! Also i have a blue and gold macaw named cheeko and a cockatiel named daisy! So I have alot of experience with birds.

  • Aww. How old was your grey when you started harness training? My bf and I are getting a grey at about 7 weeks old and I wondered when we should start harness training! Your baby is sooo cute by the way :)

  • Sorry, our baby will be about 11 weeks old. Stupid mental math.

  • Wow, Rubies, so Alert, and wondering what " Outside " is, with all the different new noises.

    Thanks for the Video.

  • ruby...you are so beautiful!

  • haha, she is all wide-eyed and amazed

  • i love parrots

  • haha she reminds me of my old red collared lorrikeet although he wouldnt let me put a harness on him man he woul eat me alive haha so he used to rideon my jack russels back haha bloody nutty things haha. if you dont mindme asking how much was your african grey?

  • wow that is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how did you get her to stay did you have a lead

  • naaa on a leache!!

my bird just flys out and when we call him he comes back str8 away!! he does scare off the neighbourhood magpies and the crows lolz

trust ur bird only when u knw it well.... my african grey is like 76 years old now lol

  • what bloody puppy? i did not see a puppy in this video nice looking bird though

  • how long is your birds leed?:P

  • how did u get it to let u pet it????

  • I love the amazed look in her eyes - she's even speechless, too. Very nice! : )

  • I love her eyes!

  • Good to see she has a harness on.

  • i think ruby has no tongue

  • when they become adults and earn your trust they wont fly away without a harness

  • That's very bad advice. In fact it is dangerous.

  • shes so cute lol

  • I wish I can put my hand on my bird head .. she's always bitting any one try to touch her nick and up

  • Is Ruby a sweet girl?

  • Thank You for putting a harness on your precious girl!

  • How do you stop them from flying away? Do you have to train them? Could anyone please tell me Thanks :)

    GORGEOUS Bird btw ^__^

  • She is wearing a harness :)

  • well even if she wears it she can try to fly away?

  • @lisacleverley where did you get the harness???

  • @MadAidy

you can train them, but it takes like 8-10 years

  • @MadAidy My Grey I taught him to come to me when i call him so when I take him outside he calm but if he wants to fly, I call and he comes back. Winter is perfect since i don't take him outside anyway and trained him to come using food reward. He is so use to going out with me now that he never flies away till i get him to.

  • They are so smart we underestimate them. KUDOS for you challenging her/his exposure to the greater out doors!

  • is she on a leash?

  • aren't you worried she'll fly away?

  • oh i recognise that look in their eyes. Well done for getting the harness on and taking her out..my bird screams and goes crazy if you try get harness on her but she still comes outside but she's clipped and she's smaller, lorikeet

  • Y they murderers?

  • they're not...biolo2 is..

  • greys is the best

  • whats the lead thing you have got on it i would like to take my grey outside :)

  • She is SO beautiful. How do you know she's a girl? I am considering getting either a Congo Grey Amazon like Ruby or perhaps a Yellow Naped Amazon. I just can't decide. Despite all the research I've done, it seems that most owners, simply put, are partial to the birds they own. I have heard that the yellow naped are THE BEST talkers of "all the Amazons", but I wonder if it wasn't a sales pitch.

  • Aww cute. I have that same bird. I just loves Afrcan Grays

  • Its like, HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS?

  • I had the same thought when i saw her xDDD

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT WHERE THE F*** AM I

  • SHES BEAUTIFUL

  • oooh look at her face!! What a lovely girl. My parrot doesn't particularly like outdoors, he gets sppoked by the birds. Has she been out again? lovely Ruby!!! My bird Bob likes ruby too btw...he looks very intently at her on the screen. cute xx

  • at 1:00 it was smiling its so cute

  • This is a very precious moment, and it's wonderful you got it on film to look back on one day. Thanks for sharing. :)

  • love this bird it so intelligent ...got to get a grey someday,,,did have a cockatail use to talk,,great pets and become part of the family bird,,,thanks for sharing Ruby with us....

  • Great that she doesn't bite you. So peaceful!

  • foul mouth little bugger very very cute tho

  • she didn't say anything foul by the way...were you imagining things?

  • Hah, I think you're thinking of the 'X-rated Ruby' on YouTube; the one with the French owner. Different bird.

  • Has she got a coller on? I didn't know you could get collers for Parrots. :\

  • its not a colar its a harness and its very nature for bird sizes conures and up

  • shes so peaceful, curious and beautiful...:)She looks like she is silver-blue....it 's one of my favourite colors...That 's it...I m getting one this october!!!!!(i only have 250 till now)

  • Ruby is adorable!

  • lol thanks... i understand now.

  • so if they have they're wings clipped they wont fly away?

  • yep thats the point in clipping their wings

  • Clipping a birds wings do not guarantee they wont fly. My friends bird had its wings clipped professionally but she was outside with her bird and a hawk flew over and scared the bird and it took off flying and was never seen again! NEVER believe that just because its wings are clipped that it cannot fly.

  • It depends on the length of the black flighters that is cut. You can have them totally nearly gone for a short hover OR a medium for some shot flights an hover... It just all depends.

  • akonsfan1995, you do realise that birds in the wild live outside, so of course she's not scared!

  • Mine's a girl too (named Macy after the singer we like, Macy Grey - they are both African, right ?) -Macy is 13 weeks old and has been outside too INSIDE A LARGE carrier. She loves it. I want to get a harness too. African Greys love the outside Yours was safe -I can see the harness on her.

  • I've gotta get me one of those. Train it to be a badboy like yours. she's hilarious but sounds like a man. I'm guessing the male of the house trained it? Good lad!

  • I think you're thinking of a different ruby

  • ouuuuuh She is so absorbing her out doorsy moment, she's lovely and you are very lovely "human parents" I understand birds very well and she is not scared at all. xxx

  • it's like scared take him inside hes shy and scared poor thing

  • First of all.. Ruby is a SHE, not a he. Secondly, she wasn't scared, she was inquisitive. If she was scared, she would have been flapping around. Last of all, she now loves it outdoors, everyone has to start somewhere!

  • Great lisa that you take Ruby outdoors. She looks ever so curious...hehe... Lovely parrot!

  • bravo lisa!!

  • akonsfan--Actually, Ruby's birdie-body language shows she's super inquisitive and interested in her new environment, and yet feeling comfortable and safe with her owner...From, a Grey Lover

  • What a beautiful little grey. I love them when they still have the big dark eyes. I wish they had the flight harness's when my two greys were young. They are both almost 20, and I don't think they'd like them now unfortunately. That sure is a beauty you have.

  • Ruby is a beautiful African Grey. I did not realize that you could put harnesses on them! what a great way to let them experience the outside without fear of them flying away and getting lost and/or hurt.

  • Hey I hate to be negative but this goes out to all the bird owners all over the world, have you ever seen the documentary The Parrots of telegraph Hill? Anyone Hawks eat parrots. If you live in an area that has Hawks or Eagles I would not advise just lettin your parrot hang out outside. Just google Hawks eating parrots there are tons of horor stories. I have an African Grey and never worried about letting her outside until I seen that gruesome true story.

  • She's wearing a harness; chill out, man.

  • he is maybe like 5months right

  • Its very cool to see more African Grey Parrot called Ruby! She's so cute and beautiful!^_^

  • Comment removed

  • Wow she mush have enjoyed that! My parrots wings arnt cliped so would it be a good idea if i took it outside on a harness? Are Rubys wings cliped?

  • Oh yes, she loves going outside now. We don't clip wings. I cannot say for your parrot, but Ruby doesn't like to fly outside. She likes flying inside though. She has tried to fly outside a couple of times. It was scary but the harness et her fly in circles so we did not loose her. They are very safe providing you put them on as directed. If you decide to try it, do take a video and let me know. I'd love to see it.

    Good luck! :-)
