@TRIGMASTER06 In a real fight, Meng would have destroyed him. He's known in the backstage as possibly the best real (real) fighter in wrestling history. I know Harley Race is up there as a bonafide badass also.
@Zengeance Yep I read somewhere as well when william regal and goldberg were having a match and lets just say goldberg wasnt giving regal much and going in a bit stiff so regal shot a few stiff ones back and put goldberg in his place, regal is also legit tough.
LOL the cop escort thing was so lame seriously. Such a shame Meng was made to be squashed here so easily the guy was a great talent! From all stories he was legit the toughest bastard you'd ever meet as well
I have always liked meng/haku. He was pretty much an unstoppable monster when he first showed in wcw ('94 i think) He is a legit tough guy too. As a child he was handpicked by the King of Tonga to train in Summo in Japan. Many guys have been quoted in saying Meng/Haku was the one guy no one would mess with. Shawn Michaels even admits that whenever he and his buddies (the clique I am guessing) would go out drinking and thought their might be trouble, they would bring Haku along,
I remember when WCW brought Meng in and they were having him beat people in 5 seconds with a Superkick every week....a few years later he's lunch meat for Goldberg!
If you don't think Goldberg should've been 173-0 then I got 2 words for ya..... SHUT UP. Your opinion doesn't matter. Sick of these stupid internet marks complaining left & right because they can't be pleased. GOLDBERG. GOLDBERG. GOLDBERG!.. Ok, so that was more than 2 words lol.
@liamrules69 I don't think they had a real fight. Goldberg himself said Meng was the toughest. I heard that they were messing around in the corridor of a hotel in England and Ric Flair was running around naked at the same time.
@gstar235 Meng wouldn't have been losing, nor would Harley Race, but they both respected wrestling's business end. But I have heard and read stories about those two.
@vinniemc69 More than half the people Goldberg faced wouldn't have been losing... All Goldberg has shown is that he can tackle and has great strength (which half of the wrestlers already have)
@vinniemc69 I've heard some crazy stories about 'Meng' but I wonder how he would have fared against a real fighter, a legitimate fighter. Maybe Bas Rutten, Tyson back in the day or Cro Cop in his prime. Those guys would have dstroyed him! I can imagine him growling, screaming and moving around clumsily. Then bam! Cro Cop kicks his face in.
Meng from the strories seemed like a guy who just lost it and became super violent. Sounds more like a bully than a tough guy.
@vinniemc69 Lesnar is obviously the superior wrestler. Meng had Sumo. As far as transfereble skills, Meng's were limited. Meng was just supposedly a very strong guy but so is Lesnar. Lesnar is a freak of nature. His athleticism for a man his size is just ridiculous. Check out his NFL tryout stats. Lesnar also has decent cardio. For Meng to lose all that fat would also be hard.
So Lesnar had more natural athleticism, more cardio, more wrestling e.t.c. Meng would lose but he would be easy though.
GOLDBERG IS DEFINATELY A POWER HOUSE!!! A FORMER FOOTBALL PLAYER AND MILITARY SOLDIER, THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND OF WHY HE REACHED HIS UNDEFEATED RECORD WITHIN THE HUNDREDS.
man Goldberg is INSANE 160-0 ... i think i know why he went to WWE he went there becouse in WCW no1 was near to Goldberg powers lol but in WWE was the same , No1 is match to Goldberg
im still thinking the same thing i was thinkin when this match first aired,"why the hell wasn't this match longer"?goldberg n meng were two of the biggest badasses of the wcw,so u would expect to see a real clash of the titans type of match.but instead they had meng go down like some jobber, which i feel didn't do the match justice.im a goldberg fan,but to have meng lose that easily shows that wcw didn't know what to do wit it's talent.
Then you hear Goldberg talk and you're like "I have to beat him?" such a faggy voice. Kinda ruins his image which is why he rarely spoke. It added to the mystique of his character.
Bobby Henning said that Goldberg droped Meng on his head and nerly broke his neck, Meng didnt have any time off from wrestling through it either. Used to love Goldberg, but the amount of wrestlers he hurt being too stiff and clumsy is amazing.
@christianbeardall i hear meng is one of the most stout men to ever set foot in a pro wrestling ring. alot of peers have stated that. i used to hate goldberg until i got tired of the nwo and got behind wcw.
@christianbeardall See your credib ility is crap. It was Bret Hart who said it after his concussion. End of story Hart has recanted on his thoughts with Goldberg, and the only interview with Meng held Goldberg in high standing. Quit making shit up.
Man there was some serious talent back in the days of ECW/WWE/WCW, think of all the matches now, and the stables that could have been created, Lashley/Goldberg/Austin/Rock/Triple H/RIP Eddie and Benoit/Angle/The Eliminators/RVD/The Dudleys/Cactus Jack/Ric Flair/The Horseman/LOD/The Snake/Undertaker/Kane thats just to name a few, shame on Linda for going on her Senate campaign!!!
Meng looked like a jobber in this match! Meng was a force and WCW build him as a baddass dude that was feared! To have Goldberg beat Meng in a couple of minutes tell you something!
@dfc278 Yes,it meant WCW had no idea what to do with their talent. They were good at highlighting a few people and let greats like Meng go to waste against trash like Goldberg.
@dfc278 Yeah it tells you that Goldberg is incapable of any match psychology outside of a squash, and it's ultimately why nobody gave a shit about him after 2-3 years. He had more of a regular routine than Hogan did in the 80's. Zzzzz
Can you imagine seeing a guy walking towards the ring who has decimated wrestler after wrestler and knowing you're next. Plus its pretty cool seeing Goldberg slapping himself in the head like that.
No doubt Goldberg is tough and could kick most wrestlers asses in real life and most wrestlers in real life such as The Rock would admit that. But Goldberg in real life has said that he fears Ming and that he is real tough and could probably rip his or anyone else's head off if he wanted too.
@no1knowsmeyet Meng (or Haku, as he was in WWF) was probably the most dangerous guy in any locker room in the wrestling business and had the respect of guys like Undertaker and Hulk Hogan, as well as newer guys like Goldberg. He is a real-life badass, for sure. there was a story about him getting in a bar fight and wiping out everyone that stepped up...the last guy standing had his tongue ripped out!
What did I do to deserve to be called a punk out of curiosity? Anything I say here on yutube is never intended to offend anyone or anything like that. What's the deal?
@kenpalmer1965 the 160-0 is BS however, since the roster had only around 30-40 wrestlers including jobbers. So goldberg had to fight everyone 4-5 times?!
DUDE BILL GOLDBERG HAS A LEGIT 176 or 177 'winning' streak in wcw, its well documented, every match & lol wcw had more than 30-40 wrestlers at that time..300 were in the nwo only
Sullivan explained as that Goldberg was so dangerous, they used the security to keep him on lockdown before his match. Never really came across that way though.
I don't see what comment you are referring to that I previously made so I'm kinda winging this one. Kevin Sullivan stated in an interview that the guards where to make him look more dangerous. Sullivan went on to say his idea was to have Goldberg go undefeated for awhile and bring some1 in to beat Goldberg and only wrestle on PPVs, but that got nixed when Nash booked himself over Goldberg.
