  • You dont know what your talking about. Its a 3D model representing a 248 dimensional figure.

  • read the wiki article. its pretty good for the non mathematician. E8 was was employed by filling in most of the 248 points of the E8 pattern, using identities (spin, charge, mass, etc) of the 40 known particles and forces. its works kind of like a really complex periodic table of elements, except for particles and their interactions. it will probably help us predict and verify patterns in physics by using the e8 symmetries. it might even lead to a unified theory.

  • As ev1Lsect said, it's just a comprehensible 3D projection. It's by no means a contradiction. Every dimension contain every lower dimension as a subset, and can therefore be projected onto any lower dimension.

  • what?

  • what the hell you chatting? i just like the pretty colours

  • It is pretty. I like its potential, but alarmed by it at the same time.

  • Yeah me too. It reminds me of IChing or a logic map. The colors make my eyes peaceful.

  • i like the blue smarties best!

  • At 0:17 it looks like the Seal of Solomon (look it up on Wiki). The shape was on the ring worn by King Solomon, given to him by God, which gave him power to talk to animals and use control demons as his own personal servants. And this shape is where the Star of David comes from.

  • I think Solomon was using a chemistry key and trapping "animals."

  • Baroque maths used to hide a failed physics

  • dibbuck: Given that this theory requires ontological differences for gravity from theory to observance and requires a teleological faith. That life is much simpler but also much more convoluted that we can ever imagine!

  • A baroque statement used to hide a failed arguement

  • dibbuck: Lemme rephrase that for you, since it's too complicated: The E8 theory requires to forgo all established observations of gravity and distort gravity to fit the model {ontological}. THEN it also requires one to accept the model is correct because it's "beautiful" (your words){teleological} with an ignoranc to it's flaws.

  • yeah, but isn't that what I originally stated?

  • dibbuck: I mistook your statement's context on the previous reqarging failed mathematics as a defense to the E8 theory. Oops :+(

  • That's a big-ass vocabulary you have there - I am rather impressed and shall be adopting.

  • All the potential hype for this... it just doesn't work out.

  • look for beauty not hype

  • goldmosaic: Aethetics cannot explain his (Lisi's) improper calculations of the fermion's spin for his E8 theory.

  • I see, thanks, would you happen to understand E_8? And if so, time wise, how long did it take?

  • Isn't E_8 lie algebra some of the hardest mathematics you can perform/ I once read it was the most complex algebra you could do. And how long does it take to understand this ? for an aspired scientist I want to know.

  • asperg. e8 not hard, easy geom, basic step by step geom, want to share but also want to share and more....

  • Allright I've looked around trying to figure out what E8 is, its some mathematical thing but I don't get it why hes speaking about this in this place, something is missing...

  • fuck.. wrong video, sry

  • perhapse it was the correct vid man

  • Okay... I'm very into quantum physics, but I don't understand a lick of this. Could someone please explain what I'm looking at?

  • this is good stuff. if it works then the guys at cern are kinda buggered, a couple of hundred million euros down the pan. what i dont get is how do u "discover" a mathematical shape?

  • and that's why you don't pool all of your money into one project.

  • Important stuff - and simple, when you know its just about the pattern.

  • moniqu711 - LOL - if you follow the link in the blurb to the right you might find out a bit more about the surfer dude. LOL

  • am I not allowed to add links in comments or something? cant seem to post further info that someone requested.

  • it's pretty...but the description makes my head hurt.

  • i is not amused bai teh colers.

  • it's so cool how that surfer guy came up with that...

i still don't get it. but it's cool.

  • lol, yeah I'm here because of the same person. If correct, he'll join the ranks of Einstein; otherwise it's a life of relative obscurity (if you'll pardon the pun ^.^).

  • Uhm, he didn't came up with E8 did he? He just used it to describe some other stuff. Anyway he's not just a surfer .. tinyurl dot com slash 24ssrs.

  • you're right. It was already discovered in 1890. He "just" used it.

  • Whoa...

    Pretty colors...

  • Some more links to stuff like this would be nice.

  • gah.. I cant seem to comment :( something's broke... I sent you more info by pm, hope you get it

  • The universe is in the wrong aspect ratio...

  • Hahahaha!!

  • And I was thinkinjg more along the lines of transcendental curves...

  • pretty

  • yeah
