JB WELD! It takes 24 hours to dryYou will NEVER have to re-glue it EVER AGAIN! JB WELD. Wal Mart, in the automotive section. Two part epoxy- dries gray. DO NOT get JB Quick. Matter-of-fact, I GUARENTEE you will never have to glue it again!
hi all i might have a better solution than useing the epoxy being that it sits in the water you really dont know what is being released by the epoxy at is in turn in the ice..
i used some hotglur on the crack and a tiny zip tie where the try gos on the moter worked great..good luck..
Anyone have a problem not getting enough water in the tray? Thats the problem with mine. Please email me if anyone have a fix for it. C00L0ne@cox.net. =0)
SIMULATE the tray triggering in the UP and DOWN positions. The controller will drive the motor until it reads the proper sequence from the microswitches. If the tray is IN and the motor is not aligned by this procedure, you risk the motor OVERDRIVING THE TRAY AND BREAKING IT AGAIN. Once the motor thinks it is in the Tray Up position, note the angle of the motor's drive and install the tray without upsetting that angle in the Up Position. Sorry, limit on words.
Was just about to ditch my machine and spend a couple of hundred on a new one when I found your incredible video. Same machine, same problem. Followed your fix to a T. and now have ice again! Mine is a Salton, but identical to yours and also to Greenway and others - obviously a generic made in China machine. Also, all obviously have the same defect - I believe it happens not when a Hercules child or drunk spouse forces basket. but when we let basket overload, cubes get caught under upper basket.
Thanks for the DIY tutorial. I have an Emerson IM90 looks just like your New Air model.
Birthday gift from my family was running strong, 10 months without problems…today a huge crack down the side of the water tray. :-( So Sad…Well time to bust it open and fix it!
Avoid turning your ice maker or any appliance with a compressor, in such a way that will allow the tubes that exit the compressor to face downward even temporarily. There is oil in the compressor that can enter the high side tube of the sealed system. If this oil makes its way to the capillary tube of the system it can block the capillary tube. Oil is thick Refrigerant is thin. The tube is tiny & likely will restrict refrigerant flow.
Steve your the perfect DIY geezer...Im gonna do it tommorow when i havnt had a bottle of wine!....
