Great tapping! The Alesis HR-16 was neat when it was new. 16 sounds can be assigned to each pad to make you mental. I would detune the stick sound and couple it with a snare and that sounded pretty cool back in the day, but 16 sounds fired off at the same time from one trigger? Sounds like something for me to poop on.

is there any reason you favour the mmt pads? the mpd/mpc pads are bigger. the velocity response of the alesis pads seem to be quite good. but they seem to be very close together. are you anoyed by the midi latency when playing the yamaha soundmodul, ore do you use trigger signals from the individualouts(does the mmt suport that?)

The machine is very old and very outdated. however I am doing some R&D work on a new midi-controller that will hopefully be released soon. I hope that I've answered your question.
