  • @captaincrash12 The good thing about this situation, is that your opinion is meaningless. As long as global governments act upon this, we can at least say we tried to help. From the American Meteorological Society, a member of the International MS, from their Feb 07 statement;

"...There is adequate evidence from observation and interpretation of climate simulation to conclude that the atmosphere, ocean and land surface are warming; that humans have significantly contributed to this change."

  • @saxmanchiro I do not believe the governments are truly helping. Governments or organisations apart, there are individuals in organisations taking advantage of this and us. Governments appear to help to gain your vote. A terrrible cycle. Your care for our planet supporting this has failed you. We all can pill quotes from either side, yet I trust in what I see and read. Not in what these organisations feed you.

  • @captaincrash12 Again, I reiterate. It doesn't matter what you or I opine. The science is clear. AGW is real and it is continuing unabated. The carbon dioxide that we have released into the atmosphere already, is enough (390ppm-NOAA,2010) to give us catastrophic climate changes in the near future. The quote is just one sentence from a 6 page statement from one of the most prestigious groups of climatologists on the planet. I tend to listen to scientists, not obfuscational buffoons.

  • The planet is just fine, these people are not!

  • A lot of people do think it is fake. But most SCIENTISTS think it is happening, and maybe we should listen instead of living in denial.

  • holy crap people still buy into this nonsense?

  • hey duffeknol

In science, we call it consensus. When a majority of mulitdisciplinary scientists exchange their peer-reviewed and published works with each other and come to consensus, it should be taken seriously. The Ozone depletion problem was reported out for many yrs and deniers like you were finally silenced for the better. Now we have AGW to contend with and we don't have the patience or time for your tiny uninformed minority opinion. 95% consensus is VERY strong.

  • it's funny how I just saw an interview with the creator of this film on tv. She ACTUALLY disagrees with the media giving airtime to sceptics as well. Fair debate and consensus my ass. Also 95% my ass. Even if it is 95%, it's pretty much more proof that the majority of all people are idiots and everyone should have been killed off a few years ago.

  • duffeknol

Your post is quite telling. First of all, it shows your ignorance of how science works. The other thing it shows is your extreme hypocrisy. You trust science every second of the day with so many tech advances developed by science and it's trustworthy process. But for some reason, you choose to be skeptical of this issue of AGW. We are past debate. It's a very good thing that you are not listened to by intelligent folks. Kaguamax seems to agree with me. You need to fix that hypocrisy.

  • Saxwhatevero

It seems like you don't really get how science works either. You claim we are past debate. Science is never past debate. Science, by definition, IS debate. It is an extremely good thing that more and more people are turning into sceptics, they're sick of the lies thrown at them by Al Gore and his lot of enviro-thugs.

  • Care to comment on your hypocrisy? Do you have a reason to hold the opinion you have on this issue?

You are right that science welcomes debate but only from proper folks who hold positions of credibility. All papers are welcome as long as they satisfy the rules of methodology, reviewed BY PEERS. Not by the public at large. There is enough data for consensus. Now we act to mitigate and possibly slow down AGW. It's too late to stop it. All we can do is prepare for it and TRY to slow it down.

  • It's too bad you're so old, I want to be able to laugh at you in 20 years when the truth comes out and it was all just another scheme to scare us and make some money out of it. Nothing is going on. We're slowing nothing down because there is nothing to hold back. You've been lied to. By the enviro-lobby, the deluded and bought out scientists, the ruling politicians, etc.

  • Also, you say there is consensus? Where? Youtube is being flooded with videos of seminars by sceptic scientists, who come up with perfectly valid arguments, chief-editors of the science department at many of the larger media-companies have turned sceptic, universities are still fully debating... what consensus? It might look that way because the politicians united under a single banner, but that doesn't mean they have the support of the scientific world, they just picked sides.

  • duffeknol

Let me guess. You worship a sky daddy. Seems that many folks I run into who hold skeptical opinions of science also are delusional with faith in supernatural beings.

I will side with the majority who have their reputations on the line on this.

    Good luck pushing your agenda.

Check out the American Meteorological Society's statement on CLimate Change from Feb07. Just go to their website and do some digging(Statements). maybe these pros will sway you since they know more than you.

  • Woah woah woah there buddy. I am not a sceptic of science as a whole nor do I even believe in God. I compared our favourite videos and subsciptions (you know, a little research) and we're not so different. We both like Thunderf00t for example. Your problem is that you are a TOO big a fan of science. I don't have a problem with accepting science as the answer to everything, but do note that the answers they usually come up with HAVE to be debunked eventually in order for it to still be science.

  • There are no absolute truths in science, you should know this. And since the debate is still on, I simply listened to the (for me) more convincing arguments and sided with the sceptics. I honestly don't understand how siding with one side using SCIENTIFIC arguments makes me a sceptic of science... I did university for a reason, you know.

Check out the videos 'Climate Change - Is CO2 the cause?' parts 1 - 4 for example, perfectly valid scientific arguments there. Not even conspiracy theories.

  • There's no 95% consensus. The IPCC consists of roughly 3000 scientists. According to several NASA studies the oceans have been cooling since 2003. This year we've had record cold temperatures throughout the entire world.

This whole global warming circus is distracting us from dealing with legitimate environmental concerns and it's only making things worse. Let's not be fighting those windmills Don Quijote.

  • lordof

It's a good thing that the world's leaders don't listen to folks like you. The consensus is not just IPCC scientists. Those are just a panel of top experts. Thousands of others are in the wings of science doing their daily work to bring us the science that we rely on to know the truth. You can deny it all day long. It wouldn't matter. Good thing that.

  • You are delusional and naive. There are just as many, if not thousands more, that disagree with the theory of AGW. But you can keep believing in fairytales if you want. Some grown-ups even believe in Santa Claus, they are usually mentally deficient though.

To me it seems more like you've invested yourself and your identity so much into this AGW hockus pockus that you are unable to even concider other possibilities because that would shatter your entire world view.

  • People in the future will assuredly brand us as living in the "age of stupid" for buying into this bandwagon of bad science and rhetoric. It's funny that (another commentor nailed this one) the "experts" are almost never interviewed or asked to present their findings in these propaganda pieces. It's always movie stars, politicians (who NEVER lie, we know), special interest group representatives and the like. The outcome of this is aimed to cripple USA and Great Britain economically.

  • Anderson, Yorke and Annan are not scientific Experts!

did they mentioned "scientific experts" ?

I've heard: climate experts and they are not either, they just participate in the movie as artists... just information!

  • wow. scientific experts tom yorke and kofi annan will be in the movie? This really must be a 100% well founded, non-mainstream-crap, totally scientific, hollywood blockbuster movie.

do i smell nobel prize winner?

  • Propaganda :P
