  • A metaphor for the Colts season this year...if only it took one person to take down that whole stadium.

  • Damn i remember WM VIII was here. Why did they knock it down?

  • TAX DOLLARS AT WORK,you pay ,they play.

  • Seems like Lucas Oil has been bad luck for the colts much like Invesco was bad luck for the broncos

  • That was the first place I ever saw Tony hawk skate I was maybe 8 or 9

  • Now let's clean it up

  • glad i had a chance to be in the stadium sry for the lose but dam new 1 is awesome and huge

  • this is what happened to the twin towers because how else did the towers fall perfectly straight down BOTH of them when they took an impact at a very high point of the towers!!

  • And we're STILL paying on that.

  • we build a new stadium for what our football team to lose to much god what a waste

people are starving in indiana and this is how we spend money I say GREAT JOB MR Govener way to stop poverty in our state y are people so retarted i played high school foot ball in this place

  • @Redneckman72 The Governor of the State of Indiana does not control the City of Indianapolis. This is paid for with taxes from Indianapolis and some of the surrounding metro cities. If people are starving in Indiana it is their own fault as there plenty of programs in place to help the needy. Besides, the government really has no obligation to feed people, give them basic necessities, or provide living space. Before you criticize, you should try to understand what you are talking about.

  • That's a waste of money!

  • Good memories in there. Everything from monster truck jams to colts games.

  • They should of just put a retractable roof on the dome./ Would of saved money and looked better. Let's face it lucas oil stadium looks like an old warehouse.

  • Its sad to see these true "dome" style stadiums slowly fading into the history books as piles of rubble. The King Dome is gone, RCA (Hoosier) Dome is gone... Pontiac Silverdome had the guillatine hanging over its head but was saved by an auction sale, the Metrodome is still in use..... These are and were all truely great stadiums. Look up the Pontac Silverdome... it is MASSIVE. Wrestlemania 3 was held there in 1987 and set an indoor attendance record of over 93,000.

  • The LD Bell band from Texas was the last national champion in that stadium

  • I feel OLD!!! If it opened in 1984 and was demolished in 2008. Usually, that's what happens to venues older than 35 years.

  • It was a great place to see a concert or see the Colts play. But it served it's purpose.

  • remember 9-11

  • thats so sad. i marched on that field when i was in marching band back in high school.

  • We have a dome exactly like that one called B.C. Place in Vancouver and we are putting a retractable roof on it!! It is going to rule!!!

  • @2010peters But your staduim is still ugly. Its worse than the Metrodome in Minneapolis!

  • the "Hoosier" Dome as it was once called was a symbol of pride for all Hoosiers, it represented the massive growth of 1980's Indy. Hated to see it go. Micheal Jordan played his first NBA All star game there..Can't say that about Lucas.

  • @Survivor87 I agree the HOOSIER Dome was a landmark,

  • a buitiful sight u stole our team our dream comes true

  • This Dome was too small when they built it. The new one is a lot better.

  • I saw many a great show there growing up. It shall be missed very much.

  • this was soo sad!

  • Thats not a implosion!

  • What was wrong with the stadium to begin with? I thought the RCA done was a relatively newe stadium.

  • @4JayeP Well, the venue opened in 1984. It was probably state-of-the-art back then, but four years later, a venue in Auburn Hills, Michigan revolutionized sports venues, which has led to the replacement of many old venues (many of which were only 20 or so years old) over the past two decades.

  • Osama Bin Laden really put his foot in it this time.

  • Another idiotic waste of resources. In a state that's cutting education funding and raising taxes, the idiots here want to spend 900 million in tax money on a new, eyesore of a stadium. Lucas Oil is a horrible, unethical waste of money.

  • Man I love lucas oil but there will never be another stadium like the dome. The loudest place you could ever be for a football game. I miss it like it was a family member and I wish that they would have atleast gave us another dome because being at a patriots game with the colts winning and not being able to hear yourself scream was priceless.

  • next, the conseco feild house. lol

  • i was att the rca doem when itt blew uppp hahaha

  • I wish they would have kept it...i had so many football memorys there....not only nfl...i played some high school games there :(:(:(

  • This was fun to watch. Great to see this cesspool fall into a pile of crap from which it came. The Lucas Oil Stadium looks like a barn. Kinda like what has been said. "Indiana, state of John Dillinger, and where the sheep get nervous..." Shame Bob Irsay's remains weren't interned under this dump...

  • @jaj4764 ur a dumbass let me guess ur from new orleans baltimore or newengland

  • Younthink of how many stadiums, baseball parks, Las Vegas Casino's, Hockey buildings ect. have been blown up but little old Fenway Park, built in 1912, still stands. Before you die, go see a ballgame like it was ment to be seen.

  • @5inthehole same with Wrigley Field and Lambeau Field, gotta c those 2 :D

  • THIS IS MY HOUSE!!!!

  • Man I didn't think you guys would to take it so hard?! This is one of those few cases where a new stadium was a great investment, think about it, after the Colts got a Super Bowl, they're like rewarded with a brand new shiny place to play! Lucas Oil is bigger, better, nicer to look at, and it's over 65,000 capacity! At least you guys can now host a super bowl and not be embarrassed by a old out of date looking stadium, that's why the NFL won't go to California anymore!

  • a mall? did u even go to this place? this was the loudest place to ever watch a football game they shouldve given the retards that determine the super bowl location a big shiny scoreboard for them all to blow a wad to so the colts could get a superbowl anyway cuz other than a super bowl there was no other reason to get a new stadium, hopefully manning sticks around for awhile cuz lucas oil is too quiet and it sucks!!!

  • they should had keep it and make it into a mall lol

  • nope we got the Lucas Oil Stadium now, the RCA dome was for the colts now they play at lucas oil

  • This is sad to watch. I was in band in high school and marched my last competition in that building.

  • The same way we react to everything in Indiana, HPDDJ.

Look up, mutter "Huh?", shrug, maybe mutter "ehh" and get on with the rest of the day. Maybe the kid in the Bob Gregory's Weather commercial was wearing a pollen mask with his winter gear, but I don't remember.

Come to Indianapolis, watch our teams lose, and become a class warrior while you're at it, when you realize how crap your seats are pricewise!

  • @epsteinsmutha1

Oh come on, how can you give a negative vote to the fact that nothing really fazes people in our state? THAT'S A GOOD THING! NOTHING SHAKES US!

And yeah, I know the Colts have a decent run of it of late, but I still remember when they left Baltimore in the middle of the night. I see them doing likewise to the Colts Camp in TH if they get too successful and there goes a big moneymaker for Vigo County.

  • I wonder what they do about all that dust? Did the city of Indianapolis just shield their faces for a moment? D:

  • kind of. There is also St. John's church right next to the dome. They had to protect the stained glass from being shattered.

  • Its a shame... I drove past that dome for over four years and I never got to go inside it. That dome is where Wrestlemania VIII took place. I wish I could have had the chance to go inside it.

  • LOL, my brother went to that wrestlemania when he was 12, if you look during the Ric Flair matcyh u can see him he has on an orange shirt and keeps standing up and waiving at the camera.

  • i went it was awesome

  • Indy just doesn't look the same :'(

  • fuck the RCA name it was the Hoosier Dome

  • im glad i got to play state in that dome b4 it went down

  • I felt the same way when Indianapoplis Colts RCA DOME went down Yr 2008. I attended thier Last game ever played at the dome. it was a Playoff Game Vs The Sandiego Chargers.(we Lost) Most of the Time, the fans will leave at the end Of the game, But this time, Many took an Hour to leave. you can see it in thier eyes, They didnt want to leave cause they Knew it was thier last. it was sooo sad to watch. But we all have fond memories but have a new Home with the Lucas Oil Stadium! ~JON

  • check out crackhead peyton manning the movie type it in on you tube

  • i wish i got the chace to go inside it insted of seeing it on the highway

  • It would not look as sad from the inside.

  • they could have made that into a rec center or some thing idy dont have any thing like that or a memorial for the past of the colts

  • that was awsome

  • It wasn't paid for, either!

  • Looks exactly like how they brought down the twin towers and Building 7 on 9-1-1.

  • "They" who? The towelhead terrorists?

  • Yep...Definitely was a planned demolision, the planes could not have taken down the towers because all their fuel exploded on contact, it didn't have enough heat to take them down.

  • You're right... that's exactly how a building looks when it falls down. Good observation.

  • If you build it they will come. They came. It was our house. Peyton's house. The dome that took us to the super bowl. Look at how we treat our success. Pitiful.

  • aahhh but u guys got a bigger and better stadium! i mean less than 60,000 wasn't gonna get u guys anywhere, i'm from green bay and lambeau is amazingly over 70,000! so about time indy got bigger

  • are you serious ruhtenberg? that place was way outdated, expensive tickets, and had horrible seats! About time we got up with the rest of the world and built a state of the art stadium.....we actually have a good team to fill it as well!

  • Yeah, it was sad to see that old dome fall. But i guess it was necessary...

  • @ruhtenberg calm down, they built a better stadium for the colts... what were they supposed to do with the dome? just let it sit there and rot?

  • @ruhtenberg Who cares. New stadiums are awesome You want to play in an old rotting stadium for ever? Its wasnt that old but eventually it has to go

  • colts are beast luv the new stadium i was there 2day

  • I saw it get inflated when my dad worked at the state office building back in 83, I saw in come down.

Went to numerous Colts games in there and to The Matallica/GNR concert back in 89.

I also played hacky sack right in the middle of the floor during a school trip there, lol.

  • AryanChampion. That Metallica and GNR concert was in 1992. not 1989

  • think about it... I was once walking in there... but now its completely gone. my own feet were on the floors and ground of it

  • I'm not trying to offend any fans or anyone but I truly have to say.. its about time. Colts needed were way over due for a new stadium and I have to say the new one is AWESOME!!!

  • my apartment is on west street, (beside the "old" dome, it was shaking everything, haha)

  • You were under it. I was on my damm hover board. The thermals were mental. I went wooooooossssshhhhhh and decided to go see something else from the air.

  • Woah...thats not something you see everyday...

  • I was damn near under that when they demolished it

  • The mess is still there last time I went to Downtown

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • bye bye :D

  • i sure miss that place :((

  • i wish i were there to see it =,(

  • i waz there on my holidays in the summer. i ran up the steps and looked in the windows at it. now its gone. i never knew

  • indianapolis will nvr be the same :'(

  • with out the rca dome, its not the indianapolis...

  • we still got the speedway

  • true tht

  • I could never call it the RCA Dome. It was always the Hoosier Dome to me.

  • I really like

Lucas oil Stadium but still Indy skyline will never look the same as pacman said. I'll miss you RCA dome even though your a building not a person. good thing RCA dome demolition workers couldn't take all of our great memories along with this wonderful small graceful building.

  • I always had a respect for the Colts and the city of Indianapolis...

That skyline will never be the same without the RCA Dome.

  • i always say and i still say that indi should have a mlb team that would have been a perfect place for it with the dome off

  • dont be mad about it "lil" Pantera boy, im sure there are really cool and exciting things for you to do in Indianapolis...i couldnt find any but hey, im not from there. and if i were id FUCKING KILL MYSELF OUT OF SHEAR BOREDOM, oh yea where are your beloved Colts this year? bombed out and depleted like that piece of shit stadium! you know where im at, N.L.R. yea thats North Little Rock. come say "hi"!

  • it was a controlled demo lol.

  • too bad i live there.... :(

  • Had gone out of the memories of Colts.

  • sad. lots of memories in that dome. it will be missed greatly

  • are you also a marching band person?

  • sorry i took so long to reply....

nope, just went to MANY games there. call me crazy, but i like the dome better than Lucas Oil..

  • it was an indoor they had to take the roof off because it had asbestos or something that would be toxic if caught on fire so they took it off

  • whoah, that mofo went boom

  • so was it an indoor or outdoor field

  • indoor

  • Good-bye dear old friend. Many a BLUE Sunday afternoon were spent under your marshmallowy dome, cheering our fool heads off for our boys in blue. We'll miss you, and those of us who were fortunate to experience the loudest venue in the NFL will cherish the memories made your hallowed presence.

  • Why are so many self-righteous half-wits using this video for the pretext of useless dialogue about 9/11 and American culture and politics? Get a life people.

  • GO PATS COLTZ BLOW DICK

  • blow dick? what are they... um, on an 8 WIN STREAK right now? it must be envy, hahaha

  • 18-1 um wat did the colts go Im pretty sure they didnt go 18-1...

  • Hey did u see the pats win? :)

  • oh nooooooooooooooos!!!!!

  • AlexBrasil: As a stupid person who likes to leave retarded comments that are impossible to ignore, I see where you're coming from. Not only that, your vitriolic and incoherent rantings have made me realized my error. Compared to your convincing testimony, the editors of Popular Mechanics, the 9/11 Commission, the swarm of physics professors/experts and my several friends from New York (who saw the entire fucking ordeal unfold before the towers fell) are all full of shit. Congrats. You win.

  • Why is the dome knocked down?

  • They built a knew one called Lucas Oil stadium. The didn't want to have two

  • they had another one called lucas oil stadium

  • i miss the rca (hoosier) dome. i have so many fond memories of monster truck races in the old dome.

  • queue dramatic sad theme music bu bu buuuuu bu bu baaaa bu bu ba

  • to bad john cena fans were not in there

  • huh?????

  • Colts rule

  • I do think that this implosion was more practical as far as the future plans for the site, as opposed to the implosion of Market Square Arena, nearly eight years later and the site of Elvis Presley,s final concert is still just a "Temporary" gravel parking lot.

  • Reminds me of the RCA DVD player I bought at Walmart.

  • you know you guys arent exactly making a case for the biologically functional part of humanity to accept you and give you equal rights. for all your talk about "acceptance" this "breeder" terminology makes us feel like youre the bunch of hypocrites that should have been stuck in that dome, which by the way was a source of great pride and love for the city of Indianapolis.

  • lol i agree with you andy3440

  • stab! stab! STAB!!! :)

  • I'm from washington and hate the Seahawks.

  • Oh well at least they are better than the BEANGALS. SO SHUT UP

  • How about i give you a spoon and you eat my ass!Sounds like a good idea for you.

  • Fine powdery dust clouds......

  • Look at the dust clouds.......hmmmm where have I seen dust clouds like that before?.......The "Hoosier" dome was concrete and steel.....wasn't that the construction material of those buldings in that big city on the east coast?.....

  • DAMN NUCCA.

    this place was cool.

  • i never got the chance to go inside the dome and i never will =( At least i've been in the Lucas oil stadium, that place is awesome

  • why does everyone get on fucking implosion videos and talk about 9/11?!!!! SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT 9/11 THIS IS A VIDEO ABOUT THE FUCKING IMPLOSION OF THE RCA DOME, NOT 9/11!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i will miss that place i was there for some games. amazing place

lets hope lucas oil brings better memories

    GO COLTS

  • they should do that to all of Indianapolis.

  • Comment removed

  • i'll miss that dome, even though i don't even live in Indainapolis, and not even in the state of Indiana (im from western New York) that dome had good memories, like the time they came back in the AFC championship round against New England, I'll miss it

  • =[[

  • Nice work SHIEL SEXTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WTC7 & the towers were more professional. This looks rough, compared to that job.

  • went down like the colts will in the playoffs...

  • Really? How so?

I didn't see a plane hit the dome.

Get off the internet and go back to school.

Steel has a melting point, morons. And most skyscrapers built after 1945 were constructed to colapse upon itself. What architect in their right mind would build one that falls over?

For every conspiracy theory you kids have, science has 3 correct answers. The "Loose Change" fanbase needs to realize that over 90%of that film has been debunked by some of the worlds best.

  • yeah thats why everyone on fire since 45 has pancaked....Im still waiting to see the same thing happen to another building to have some form of reference...90% debunked? Who told you that? You are the one who should go back to school and study basic physics

  • eagles.....wow, with that comment about melting point, and buildings built after 1945, you truly show that you're one of the stupidest fucking people on this planet!, lol. Reading your comment cracked me up!! Thanks, I needed the laugh, hahahah.

  • Actually I was joking. It was pretty funny too!

  • Look how the charges explode this is just like 9/11 because this was run by the government and so was 9/11

  • OMG.9/11 was done by a group of angry muslims. Stop embarrassing yourself

  • shut up, you dont know what youre talking about!!

  • That looks like it was brought down in a controlled demolition!

  • it was

  • I hope that this will NEVER happen to the 8th Wonder-Of-The-World, the Astrodome!!!!!

  • it will eventually, we americans don't build anything to last anymore

  • So was this stadium all paid for? Or is it another "this stadium is old and we'll move unless the taxpayers pay for a new one for us" kind of an arrangement? Sorry, but the bullshit about sports corporate welfare in Seattle still pisses me off.

  • They should have wait and have Hollywood done some awesome action movie with this implosion.

  • y did they destroy it??

  • Because it was old, it use to be the Indianapolis Colts football stadium, but with their new stay of the art stadium they just got, man!! that RCA Dome looks like crap.

  • Man, I hope Peyton Manning got outta there before that happened!

  • it's good to see by several of the comments here that more and more Americans are wising up, but there are still too many retards here that haven't lifted the blinding veil of ignorance and denial from their eyes.

  • to any person with common sense who have seen the 9/11 collapse videos and did some research, the striking similiarities to this should be undeniable.

  • LOL, your utter stupidity is mind blowing.

  • maybe you need to stop believing everything your government tells you..

  • Same as 9/11

  • Is that another 9/11 video ?

  • I've been to the Dome for the Circle City Classic a few times and have always enjoyed the dome. Indianapolis is smart and put the dome to the ground quickly after Lucas Oil Stadium opened. Here in Detroit, the Lions' last season in the Silverdome was 2001, and the last time I know it was used was when the Steelers practiced there for Super Bowl XL. It is still standing.

  • now ware will i get my tv

  • Looks just like 9/11. Denial is a powerful force.

  • STFU. blah..blah..blah..building 7. Get a life and accept that what happened that day was not a fucking conspiracy. You kids need to stop believing everything you read on the internet.

  • Even though I don't care about conspiracies, a few planes really cant implode a tall building from above lol

    it's all about physics

  • man, I wish I had the luxury to be able to wave away the truth and just say "blah, blah, blah,..." to any inconvenient truths I didn't want to hear, but you have to educate yourself and stop with this stupid "if-you- question-the-mainstream, you're un-american" shit.Valid questions that are aroused by inconsistencies with science and reality, and evidence that, again,is backed up by science, isn't a conspiracy.Conspiracy theories lack any substantial rationality or proof. This is not the case, here.

  • Exactly! Excellent post. I'm not necessarily saying that the towers were brought down by explosives. But, for a person to believe the "offical story (lies)" by the sham 9/11 commission. Then, that person has to have more holes in their head then there are holes in the report. I'm tired of these worthless neo-con traitorous scumbags posting here defending this bullshit glory story.
