@10secondfunnys I thought he was waving his hand because it smelled bad..? mabye... And notice how like four people of the left scatter just as they see the gas.
During his first scheduled pitstop during the race, fuel leaked onto the car after the fuel hose was disconnected, setting the car, with Verstappen in it, ablaze for a brief period. As was usual at the time, Verstappen had slightly opened the visor of his helmet for the pit stop, and he walked away with slight burns to his nose

@pavoSNK opfcourse :D But must have been a strange feeling. Iw as 4 years old when I watched this, but I still can remember evr well. I think it's the biggest fire in the last F1 years.
Benneton's cheating in 1994 could have cost lives. The team should have been suspended the year for illegally removing safety features on the fuel hose to speed-up pit stops.
@jwdogfst that might be a bit extreme, it was an accident. and i dont believe there is a law saying when you can yank the fuel hose. You should just be glad they're alive, the chances of them dieing there where slim due to: there suites, they're not on the track where its hard to get help too, if they did light up, there is probly a good sorce of flame retardent nearby and paramedices would be there emidetly.
yeah but then the fire i an gasfire its not water to get it out and wth he standings 15 sec in fire its very hot at all and someone of the pits run to inside
I remember seeing this live while doing my homework.
I think this caused quite a scandal at the time, because the re-fuelling of cars ahd only just been reintroduced. Previously, all cars had to carry enough fuel for the duration of the race. Opponents of re-fuelling based their opinions on the danger factor and this incident seemed to justify their belief.
if his name ends in 1990, im guessing that he was born in 1990 and as it happened it 1994, he would have been 4 and he said he was a small kid so hes not lying
Jos stepped out of the car with only minor burns on his face because he had opened his visor of his helmet when he stopped the car. These burns are now completely gone and Jos had won the 24 hr of Le Mans this year in the LMP2 classe.

Damn...The dude's lucky to be alive after that one. After reading & seeing some crashes. If that'd been a few years before, he'd probably be dead.
