  • thats because they want you to go out and buy the dvd, never mind its pretty expensive and in this economy who's going to spend good money like that on DVD'S? Besides me I mean. lol

No I bought my dvd's years ago. one comes with series 1 & 2 and the second one comes with series 3 and the special royal command performance . Sad that Paul Eddington died back in (I think) 1995 from skin cancer. :-(

loved him on this show as well as Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. great shows.

  • If i could go back in time to poke a young Felicity Kendall i probably would

  • Where's the rest of it? Part 2 & 3 of this episode??

  • @promiseofanewday I can't find them either.

  • Felicity Kendal is so sexy.

  • I got hooked on it on PBS in Seatlle recently. Love the old Brit-coms and mysteries, but this one had slipped under my radar. Felicity is so adorable. Thanks for posting these shows!

  • Felicity Treacle Kendal! And Richard Sugar-flavored Snot Briers!

  • Get the audio from this vid at thetunify doht cohm.

  • To myself, 'The Good Life' doesn't just refer to this series, but the kind of life that this series portrays.

    ed

    a2ed*c

  • RHICHARD "SNOT FLAVORED" BRIERS!!!!!!!!

  • Vote this up to let folks know that part two is blocked by the BBC bastards.

Thank you so much for giving me a taste of this though. Much appreciated. I've never seen the beginning episodes of this show, and it's not as if it will ever come on American tv.

  • @LittleOddMe This series has been on PBS stations in the states as The Good Neighbors. But its been some years since I've seen it there. I remember this one well, but still like seeing it all, so I miss part 2 as well. It's all about money don't ya know, that's life isnt it. You can find this series pretty cheap on ioffer. I love the old British shows, great writing and humor.

  • You are absolutely wonderful. This is one of my favorites tv shows, and it's been durn hard to get in the U.S. for the past couple of decades. Thank you.

  • " you bitch

    did you call" lol

  • back when felicity was sexy

  • @shagbecca she still is

  • "Nooooo were not watching the bloody good life !!! BLUDYYYYY BLOODDY BLOODYY !!! I hate it its soo bluddyyy nice !!!

  • You can just about blomin well shut up. If you've got anything horrid to say about Felicity Kendal you can bloomin well say to me first. You're talking about the woman I love!

  • I cannot locate part 2

  • It's wonderful to see this program here. Thanks! I used to watch it growing up here in Canada and loved it. Always made me want to have a similar experience of life.

  • Those guys in his office are such miserable old buggers!

  • This was a brilliantly funny series, thanks very much for posting it

  • thank you so much for posting the entire series! very grateful! the good life is pure-gold! there's nothing horrid or nasty. priceless actors in a priceless show x

  • a show with a whole cast of national treasures. Seldom seen these days

  • For you hardcore GOOD fans...the house used in the show is at 55 Kewberry Road, Northwood, Middlesex UK. Its visable on Google Earth street view virtually unchanged from the show.

  • @crawfordbureau - Not Kew_b_erry, 53 and 55 Kewferry Rd, Northwood ...

  • Where is part 2

  • Thank you so very much for posting this series. I remember watching this as a teenager at my aunt's house on Sunday nights on KERA Channel 13. Watching these episodes brings back so many happy and wonderful memories of Sunday nights at my aunt's place. My aunt is gone now, but this show still soldiers on. Again thank you for posting these!

  • Felicity is so gorgeous in this series.

  • cant find part 2 :[

  • makes me laugh at 2.36 when Felicity goes eeuugghh XD cracks me up

  • I love Barbara Good. I just want her so much.

  • Was it a deliberate joke that the names of the husbands were Tom & Jerry?

  • BUT IT'S SO BLOODY NICE! I HATE IT! xD

  • @JKBPP thank you vyvian

  • I Love Penelope Keith!

  • Margo. I would.

  • It's such a shame I have to hunt like a dog to locate the next part of an episode in You Tube. Not so difficult in other programs - why is it with "The Good Life?"

  • Love this series! Thankyou for posting! :))))

  • I would have loved to slap Felicity Kendalls bottom.

  • @plane15 You and the entire British male census (and some of the American census, too)!

  • @dharmaseed

What's really funny is in an interview she stated that she never thought she was attractive until she came to Britain from India and men started falling all over her. She always looked to her sister and mother as being the beautiful ones in the family. Prior to that she always considered herself to be very plain looking. If she considers herself plain and her mother and sister beautiful, it makes you wonder what they must look like.

  • One of the best sit coms ever!!

  • Parts 2 & 3 seem to be missing. Removed by YouTube?

  • @tonyrome67 blocked by BBC Worldwide, it seems.

  • Check out our new range of Good Life clothing at Allotment Envy Clothing

  • Although this series is virtually unknown here in the States, there were some teen boys back in the late 70's such as myself who watched this in reruns on PBS strictly for Felicity Kendal and the opportunity to worship her. She got a lot of staffs at full mast on this side of the pond too.

  • they certanly dont make them like this anymore, thanks for uploading them, wish more now adays were lik this, tv today is a pile of crap

  • Felicity Kendal was one of the highlights of my puberty.

  • @Timcar3 She won the "Rear of the Year" award sometime while this series was out. :)

  • Which episode is the one where Tom chases the cockerel onto a bus?

  • Our Speaker Today, Series 4 :)

  • Thanks.

  • Hahaaaa!!! We recently found a box full of old crockery and thought some of them looked quite nice in the cold light of 2010.... I've just realised they're using them in this episode!!! That's so strange!!!

  • I didn't know they could use the word 'bitch' on TV in 1975.

  • It is surprising, he says it twice throughout the whole series, there's another episode where he calls Barbara a "stupid bitch".

My wife says to me "Don't you get any ideas!"

  • @Razieluk It's The Last Posh Frock episode, when Barbra asks him if he still loves her even though she's not "glammed up" ":..of course I do you silly bitch.". I laugh every time ;) I know you commented ages ago but I had to chime in.

  • "have a nice day darling, keep your bowels open"

    LOL

  • hard to believe Felicity Kendall was only 28 when this show started!!

  • Well, this was the show that turned Felicity into a sex symbol.

At the time it was said that 50% of the male population fancied her... but the other 50% made no secret of it whatsoever

  • felicity is a sultry female ,, yumyum

  • i cant watch the start of this without thinking of Vivian from the young1s smashing through the set lol

  • Mozart and Mendelssohn were both dead by forty, why aren't you? lol

  • This is a very clever line when you think about it. In one short joke, you've been told it's his 40th birthday.

Yes, there's a cake on the table with a candle, but you don't know his age, until his says this line.

  • This whole show was clever.

  • I completely agree. This is why I have all of them on DVD and have just finished watching the lot AGAIN! :o)

My friend is also an avid Good Life fan and we text each other with obscure quotes from the series to try and catch the other out. So far I'm one up on catching her out on a particular quote! :o)

  • Okay, I admit it, I AM that sad! :o)

  • "Who's Jack Hobbs?"

    "You bloody little swine..."

"listen you lot, I am a run machine! A RUN MACHINE!

    ...

    and I bowl!"

  • Hahaha !

    ".. and I bowl !!!"

    Classic stuff.

  • sorry love, it's RUM MACHINE' not run

  • que the jokes about "Peapod burgundy" ;-)

  • Starfishsuz - The episode when they get drunk (The Wind Break) is the closest they come to it..... so funny !

  • god i miss this show

  • I forgot all about this show, I love it! PBS used to run it when I was a kid and PBS was the only channel we could get that came in clear with no snow - anyone else out there remember that?! Anyway, thanks so much for posting the series! Good memories.

  • P.S. Felicity Kendall is SMOOOOKIN'

    HOT !

  • I agree - thanks for posting

  • I can't thank you enough for posting this entire series. A lot of work must have gone into it and I, for one, greatly appreciate it. A wonderful show!

  • @555VisitorX - me too!!

  • All those fights over who opened the new box of cereal to get the toy out . I remember it well !

  • felicity was more beautiful as the show progressed, I think

  • Felicity and Richard have so much chemistry together.

  • @megarouge2001 I thought the whole cast had great chemistry. That's part of what makes this series so special.

  • @toddcharry Very true! I have this whole series on DVD. I saw it in reruns on PBS years ago.

  • This is an amazing tv show i love it

but i was so upset when Jerry Actor Paul Eddton died of cancer at the age of 68

i might of spelled his surname wrong

but he was an fantastic actor i will miss him

    But love the good life.

  • loved it

  • this same room was used as the bank in series 4, wasn't it?

  • i thought this show was entitled "good neighbors". where did "the good life" come from?

  • It was called "The Good Life" originally in the UK. It was renamed "Good Neighbours" when it was shown in the USA.

  • Stupid American's, they have to change everything!

  • Rubbish isnt it, and with their title, the final episode wouldn't work!!

  • We had to change it because there was already a show called The Good Life in America.

  • That's no excuse, we have had a few shows on at the same time with the same or very similar names. What would be the point of calling it good neighbours? their surname was Good so hence that went towards the naming of the show.

  • I know why the show is called The Good Life, I have the whole series on DVD, and you could say that it's become my How-To guide. I now raise chickens and have a large food garden in the city.

I'm just telling you what I know about why the show was renamed when it was shown in the US. I didn't say I agreed with the decision.

  • You have a point, I was just generalising anyways. Good for you on the self sufficiancy thing though, I would love to do something like that one day.

  • been looking for thse for ages never knew they were on, just typed the good life eppisode by chance cos all i seen b4 was clips ofthe show. thanks for posting they are hilarious

  • Thanks for posting the first episode, i've never seen it and always wanted to!!

  • YES YES YES!! I was hoping someone would post this show! I love it! Thanks so much!
