Great work I learnt how to play this by following your lesson, still not got the strum right for the muted bits. Not sure if you have see muse and edge doing this - pretty cool , search for "edge and muse" on youtube
You fucking rock mate. Big respect and thanks to people like you taking time to educate unaware hobby guitar players out there about how to learn to play these awesome songs by U2. We appreciate this alot.
Yep, it's not Csus4. The intervals for the notes are 1 5 13 9. So C13 (formula = 1 3 5 b7 9(11) 13) is probably best fit. He's calling it sus because there's no 3rd. You could maybe call it a C13 power chord!! lol
i have only play blues and some metal and trying to learn this type of strumming for me is pretty hard. i have to say i underestimated the edge big time
Haven't got the equipment for doing videos unfortunately especially as I am a guitar teacher. You're nearly there just a bit of tweaking to do. Just watch your rythum and the positions. But I do disagree with delay there is no wrong or different way. it's right or it's wrong. But you want help with it I can if you'd like.
Templar: the delay is right believe me. You don't need to be a guitar teacher to know that Edge uses dotted eight delay, which is what I'm using. one can maybe argue about the depth of the modulation or the number of repeats. as for the positions I agree, they could be different, but I watched an endless number of videos and the positions I used here really look pretty close! take care!
Not bad man but your chorus part is pretty wrong and overly complicated. And after that your rythum is not right either and almost everything afterwards sorry. I've been 10 ft away from the Edge when he played this song and it's not what he does.
At the end you really should put it all together and played through the song. It would be more helpful. Other than that it was a very clear explanation.
classic quote "and then bono starts singing or whoever is in your band." Nope, Bono ain't in my band! :-) Would be funny if The Edge come on-line and said, He is in mine, thanks for showing me how to play the studio version live. Nice.
I never knew the verse was so complicated..I always just play around with the D chord. Yours sounds better tho=) Thanks for the great lessons, your a cool dude! Cheers from California! ~Justin
Thats awesome, I'm a bass player though lol, but good video man!

At 51 seconds, how is that a Csus4? A Csus4 is C F G. The fretted notes are C G A D? Can someone explain. Thanks.
