@windjunkiehippy Not meaningless to Laurel and Hardy as they obviously choose it for the sketch over other music at the time. Without that particular music, the whole sketch isnt as good in my opinion. I think the original song was right for that time and fitted the scene as there are obviously people performing it in the background. with the singing. As for L&H liking the softcell one, well, I guess we will never know will we.
