I too thought I could do it on my own...and I was 57 when I had the MGB. You are a wise girl to have it much sooner and avoid all of the problems and sadness I experienced because of my denial and then because of fear. The MGB is definitely the way to go and I feel that it was clever of me to find a long term solution to a terrible problem. I'm 8.5 yrs post op and am grateful every day!
I also saw myself as smaller than I am. I asked the phsych person about it. I thought it was denial, but he said it was healthy and showed that I had a self esteem. Go figure??!
Isn't that crazy? I suppose we should take it as a compliment. I must say it does make sense, back in high school I was a much more insecure person. I think it also shows how ingrained weight is in our society, that we see ourselves as bigger if we have a lower self esteem. Kinda sad.
Weight loss surgery is a great tool. It is hard work but soooooo worth it. You will be such a success because you have really researched it and I can tell you really want it! I am only 4 weeks out but if there is ever any way I can help please let me know! Can you tell I'm watching all you videos??? Take care friend.
Hey Casey great video. You won't regret it My stomach feels great I am at 6 months out from the MiniGastric bypass...I had no complications and am down 74 lbs. It is also revisable and reversable so that is another great reason for having the MGB. Can't wait till you are 6 months out you will just love the results..Rose
LOL, the revisable/reversible is also another reason why I chose the MGB. I also can't wait to be 6 months out. I have a close friend who is in Europe right now, and she is getting back around that time, it will be so cool and a shocker for her I am sure. I actually can't even wait to be 3 months out, that will be on my birthday. I can't wait to actually fit back into most of my clothes again.
