But BRILLIANT! I've been struggling to make ringtones for a while so i am CHUFFED! This may sound blonde but if you delete the tone off the desktop you won't lose it from your phone will you?? :-S

  • Thanks man- That guide Rocked!

  • Thanks so fucking much!

  • Everything worked until I went to find the ringtone on my iphone 4S :/ now I can't find it and there is no customs HELP PLEASE!!

  • @SuperStarPage haha I had the same problem but the thing was that I didn't put the "Let it sync" button (on tones in iTunes) on :p Now it works fine. Thanks! :)

  • @NickG3220 once you put the tone on your iPhone, go to settings->sounds->ringtones and it should be at the top of the list. If this doesn't work make sure the tone plays on iTunes as well. If it doesn't work then try to make the file again. The ringtone can be no more than 30 seconds

  • great video bro, i just wanna ask u if u know how 2 change the xtension from .m4a to .m4r, don´t let me do it

  • on a mac, get AAC is under advanced. took me a minute to find it. also, i'm sure everyone else knows this but i wasn't aware (he does say it in the video, i just didn't catch it at first) but make sure it's no more than 30 seconds. i put mine at 52, and now i can't get a 30 second tone, even after deleting the AAC and m4r. so get it right the first time i guess.

  • Hey so I followed all the steps, everything works, but the problem I had was when I went back to fix the ringtone. It was too short, it kind of cut off at the end. So I made it slightly longer, 29 seconds vs 27, but when I opened the new .mpr file into iTunes it appeared as the original 27 second copy. It completely ignored the changes I made to it. If you could help me out I'd appreciate it.

  • i did the same thing. but when i want to sync it says.... that Itunes cannot copy my song because it can't find it?? why..? ((((

  • Hi: I just got anIphone. I followed your video which is very good. You talk at a normal rate and then navigate around the computer slowly and clearly. My problem is the Delete, Remove and Trash sequence. I can delete but I don't get the Remove and Trash prompts from my computer. I have XP Professional. Can you give me any tips or hints. Again good job with the video and Thanks for any help you can give me. Leon.

  • how come all of the people who make these types of videos listen to the wierdest fucking music

  • I don't know if others ran into the problem but with windows, on your desktop, you can't see the file extension to change it. To Fix:

Control Panel>Folder Options>View(tab)>"Show Hidden Files and Folders" (Check), and also "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" (Uncheck)

    Hope this helps.

  • @SicelMeva thank you! thats exactly what my problem was

  • @SicelMeva your advice was exactly what i needed..your awesome thanks

  • this this work for the 4s? it doesn't come up with custom in the ring tones settings

  • Thnx!!! Finally got it :)

  • everything worked right it synced but its not showing up in my ringtones:(. I'm super frustrated!!!!!!! Ive been trying this all day.

  • THX!!!!!!!!!!!! Great video

  • IT WORKED FINALLY THANK YOU!

  • hmmm. im using windows 7 and i cant change it to m4r. it will just lead me to rename the song. any idea?

  • @norakishoraskahban I had the same problem, so do this... go to myxer(dot)com.. upload the song you wanna use, choose where you want it to start playing, etc, it automatically converts it to a m4r for you, and you can instantly add it to iTunes. Makes converting m4r soo much easier and faster, and corrects whatever problem Windows 7 has with not converting songs to m4r.

  • This was very helpful and easy thanks!!!

  • love your explnation , it was too easy and I made it

    thanx

  • Hey, Great tutorial, I got every step but the last one. When I drag the song to the desktop it doesnt say m4a, it just says the song title (ie "03Awaken"). What should I do?

  • mine says mpeg-4, what do i do?

  • nmv I just figured it out

  • @cella1982 im trying to do the same thing but i cant figure it out :( i cant locate it anywhere on my 4s

  • @lababyj0k3r I have a 4, but I do not think that would make a difference. are you able to locate ur iPhone on the left side of iTunes?

  • I did all the steps and my song shows in the ringtone folder of itunes, but when I go on my iphone I cannot locate it. I went, settings, sounds, ringtone, then it just gives me a list of ringtones that came with that phone. Help?

  • Hey this is the best post i saw for creating ringtones for the iphone…… u r the best man…

  • I followed all the steps but i dont see it on in settings under sounds at all. please help!

  • @charmed159 I had the same problem! But this worked for me..

Open itunes and on the left under Devices click on your iphone, then at the top middle of the screen click ringtones, make sure Sync Ringtones is checked!

  • @cella1982 omg thank you soo much, I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work for the life of me until I saw what you wrote! all other tutorials and sites failed to mention that 1 little step! Thank you again, you made my day!

  • @cella1982 I just got a 4S and am DESPERATE to make ringtones. I've looked all over my itunes page and I don't see anything that says RINGTONES anywhere!!! Nor do I see "sync ringtones" ... Can you please help??? Thank you!!!!

  • @jenerrific713 Would be glad to try and help! Plug your phone into the computer and open iTunes. On the left side under DEVICES you should see your iPhone listed there. Click on it, then in the top middle of the page you should see RINGTONES. Click on it, and make sure the box is checked to SYNC RINGTONES. Let me know if you need further help. :)

  • @cella1982 Thank you so much for replying!!! Actually, I FINALLYYY learned how to do it!! There's a super easy free ringtone maker on the 4S by Zentertain LTD. and I also found a video on youtube: youtube.com/watch?v=GQzqsRj1Ft4 ... my phone is now fully loaded!! Thanks again!! :)

  • @jenerrific713 iTunes 10 uses "Tones" instead of "Ringtone" and the 30 second music (ACC Format) is saved in "Recent added" folder. If this helps. like it so it can be on top.

  • If you dont see "ringtones" on Itunes, dont panic... just follow the steps in the video and it will appear on the menu once you play the m4r file. The latest version of itunes has "Tones" instead of "ringtones". Just make sure you delete the AAC version off itunes once you drag it to your desktop. I just did this for my IPhone 4S and works great

  • @madness9678 I also have the iphone 4s. i made my ringtone, but i cant find where its located. its not under custom

  • @madness9678 hey but i can't seem to see the ringtones in my iPhone device!

  • @jenerrific713 wow ur dumb

  • @cella1982 thanks. it worked for me too. :)

  • @cella1982 i still cant find ringtones.

  • @illmatic2345 what do u see? do u at least see your iPhone in the left side column?

  • thumbs up if you viewed this video only once and was able to do exactly the same. I'm a genius

  • what about 10.4.1.10 every time i try to open it as a ringtone it keeps coming up as a song
