Just a little constructive criticism if you don't mind:

You should simply make the mask as a keyframed tween shape. And quite possibly the growth at the end of the plant as a seperate object that could bend down a little as if by it's own weight upon popping up, if you would like to add some dynamic to it all that is. Static is fine too, all depends on the usage ofcourse.

Nice end-result none the less, and it's obvious a lot of your viewers found it useful :) Keep on keepin' on!
