@matthias100 that is because you care and you see and you understand when people laugh at a suicide note that just means they dont care for strange reasons
@highschoolmusical841 Fuck off. You, as with all Lefties, only display tolerance when it suits you. And does anyone give a sh!t what an arrogant Leftie snob thinks of Curtis from an artistic point of view? I think not.
@highschoolmusical841 translation: He was right politically, so deserved to die. Nice...must be some of that "tolerance" I hear lefties prattle about.
@lifepod2036 Yes, that was New Order. I walked out on them at Madison Square. Disco, "Dance" electronic light weight candy blah. Felt like a punch in the stomach. Incredibly disappointing! We ran... I was listening to Joy Division in the 70's - New Order had put a couple of songs with Ian Curtis' lyrics on their first album (or the single). Too much to hope for, I guess.
"really awfully tantalising" and "that's put a downer on it"... does anyone else think that the phrases themselves are very telling, about the lack of consideration the guy gives to his departed friend's dignity and the privacy of his final writings. They were surely intended to be private.
@SteVenendry The only thing you can see from space is the great wall and Hooky's ego. The bloke used to be one of the lads but has since changed into what you see here ;)
it's note clear what question peter is answering. i would assume it's something like "did ian's first suicide note say give my love to annik (honere)." debbie curtis has never made ians final ever writings public. however she was prepared to tell her version of their marraige by writing a full account in her book 'touching from a distance'
Hooky is speaking real slow, and the volume is OK,...every word is clear as a bell to me...I didn't know you guys in the U.S had such a problem with U.K accents, but up north they are a lot different from in the south. I'm from New Zealand and we speak a lot like Aussies, (the educated ones at least...hehe)
"That was Ian's first suicide note & the two strangest things in the world I think are the fact that Debbie let us see the first one but wouldn't let us see the second one, which I found really awfully tantalising. It is what Ian wrote in his first suicide note....... That's put a downer on it."
All of a sudden joy division have become like sorta iconic, but ive loved them since i was 12 i dont remember anyone really knowing too too much. But they deserve it their great and i really think they should get the credit they deserve as innovators of music
Just checked out your channel...cool..on your list of influences the best are (imho..of the ones I know) numbers 1,3,4,(i first heard Psychedelic Furs at an outdoor weekend festival down here in NZ in 1983...I couldn't believe the quality of their PA in those old days...woke me up and got me out of my tent to see who the hell it was ...they opened with Love my Way),5,6,9,10,16,18,19,20,23,24,25,28,29...actually these probably just reflect my age
@highschoolmusical841 Fuck off.
