  • Il Est Vraiiiment Trop Mignon!!!! <3.<3.<3.<3.

  • awe cute little filly congraulation! fairytail cute><

  • this is so sweet :)

  • that was magical =) very nice lil' foal

  • you guys are very lucky to have a beautiful foal like that! And it came out beautifully!!! My 2 mares are going to have foals in August, Very excited, but sometimes nervous... Is there any way the mother could cut the umbilical cord herself? And should I just get the nose mucous out?Could I break the sac? Or should I let April and Sweetie(mini mares) break it themselves??? Please reply!!! :D

  • oh, how sweet! but im curious, why did she seem to have such a hard time?oh and, also, how long doues the pregnancy of a horse last? : ) GREAT video!

  • @scampbaltofan1 The period of a horse to be pregnant is 11 months. And a good question about how a hard time she had....???? O.o

  • And a curious doggy is trying to sneak inside to see what's going on....Or at least this is what I imagine by listening to its voice :-) I have a dog who must (no way to let him outside the box) assist to each delivery and welcome the newborn....My mares are now used to it and everything is so nice....

  • Very very cute.=)

  • that baby foal is so adorable. great job with helping the mini mare wiht delivery.

  • well done selwyn , congrats on your new editions , vince & angie

  • That was so amazing!

  • I think that is the fastest delivery I've ever seen! Congrats to the new addition!

  • AAh, he is so cute!

  • heyy, nice job and a very cute little filly, but shouldn't you have brought her round tot he mare as soon as she came out and let the mare clean her off? Otherwise she may reject the foal

  • Hi, Very good question.

We have learnt over many foalings that it is best to let the blood keep flowing through the umbilical cord for as long as possible as the foal is recieving its stem cells then.

After a couple of minutes we put the foal up too the mare if she has not noticed it by then.

We have never had a foal rejected in hundreds of foalings. Kind regards. Selwyn

  • I helped a Mare last winter and took the the film to town to show. Somebody asked why I didn't wear gloves? I replied, "Because my gloves are rough". I just stared at 'em. They meant LAYTEX........Only a Townie would think of something like that. Nice job you did, there.

  • that is so beautiful i would love to watch that in real life but i dont have a mare

  • As at 10pm on the 15th May 08 we have had eight colt foals and five filly foals with seven mares still to foal. We have not lost any so far which is unusual. It is very easy to loose these miniature ponies. We always watch all the pregnant mares day and night by cctv, it helps to cut losses. Thanks for your comments. Selwyn

  • hi i no you no what your doin but why did you pull it out like that isnt it best to let her foal her self

  • Hi, It looks like I am pulling the foal out but actually I am just assisting the mare who was pushing with her contractions. We have found that it is best to get the foal out as quickly as possible as it can alleviate other problems occuring at the last minute.

  • ok like i said you no best but stunning foal you have there well done how many is that now and how many have you got let to foal

  • cute!!!!
