  • I would have to actually infrom you that Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons do perform procedures just like this as well as many others very similiar to this. The wide scope of OMFS is the reason I chose it for my profession. Have to say though this is a beautiful Case. Nice work

  • great surgery

  • excellent video. how many of these procedures can you perform on any given day? just curious.

  • can a person still talk if 2/3 of his tongue is removed? hope u could give light to me. thanks.

  • @nakitako2 yes they can.

  • @nakitako2 yes. It requires reconstruction & speech/swallowing therapy.

  • This is soooo cool

  • The OR is an interseting place to be working in. I am planing on working in the OR someday. Its amazing on these technology's that we have these days. Cool surgery.

  • that was amazing, I think there should be pattient with the reconstruction and no damage anything congratulations doctor

  • thank you for taking the time to point out the anatomical landmarks. Excellent view of the carotids location. amazing surgeries. i should have been in bed hours ago (its 2 am) but you've singlehandedly kept me up.

  • thank you for your kind comments.

  • omg thats amazing!

  • Wow, fascinating... talk about RADICAL neck dissection. I have been in an OR for years and I have never seen such a complete neck dissection.

  • i am an ent-head & neck surgeon. OMFS surgeons do not perform these cases in this country.

  • What kind of surgeon are you? Are you an ENT? Do oral maxillofacial surgeons ever do radical neck dissections?

  • My hats off to all surgeons!!!

  • that guy + his mouth = Blade 2

  • uhm dude you lost something???

  • How many hours is elapsed in this proceedure? It looks invasive. What is the following history of this pateint. Were the results good.

  • These procedures are lengthy. This operation took about 8 hours. The patient did well & continues to do well today. He had a base of tongue tumor with extension into the neck.

  • how do they connect the bone after it has been cut?

  • With a special plate & screws.

  • that torture guy must be locked up

  • HAhaha damn that jump from 50 sec to 54 caught me off guard... I bet it hurt to xD

  • i dont think i would choose to wake up until everything was recovered...after a surgery like this...hahahahha must have been painful? what do you think?

  • is he stilla alive?..dam..man

  • wtf is this man still alive

  • ohhh man.....

  • funny to see such "international procedure".

ent surgeons do the same all over the world

  • this is brutal if only they would allow access to the cancer cures that many people have come accross.

  • Are you talking about vitamin B17

  • Lots of blood in this video, but other than that. I have a lot of respect for doctors as they take apart skin and operate inside then sew/staple back up and the patient recovers just fine.

  • lol they've got some jams goin' on in the background.

    this is incredible.

  • wow!!i never seem somthin lik this before!!1

dont get me wrong but it look liked it would take along time too put his mouth and neck together

  • What's recovery like? How long until the patient is able to speak?

  • The recovery period is about 1 month. the patient can usually speak intelligibly anywhere between 6-8 weeks. This all depends upon the posoperative swelling & healing.

  • Thank You...

I can look at your cardiac pulsation.... Please, give us more videos...

  • Thank you very much for your video...

    Please, give us more videos...

  • oh!!!!!!!it must be very hurt

  • I can only have respect for the guys that operate like this. truly amazing, what a skill.

  • I like this one this best. Very similar procedure that i witnessed. The way you suture them after the procedure it looks like nothing was even done. Amazing

  • Excellent job

  • i wouldn't go as far as saying restoring health, more like removal of tumor.

  • yep, cancer has little, if any honor, does not keep it's promises, and the battles the patient has to fight are in the do or die category , how many hospitals you could build using one warplane budget?

  • yeah i've had a few patients with flaps done--rather sad though, very little quality of life that I can tell. I don't think most people understand the extent of the surgeries.

as for the budget.. how many??

  • Oh, just poetic liberty, there are, I guess, many types of war planes, with different pricetags, but my guess is that one recent model fighter could build and furnish one or two middle sized hospitals or a single medical center, but that is a bit rethorical, thank you for answering, cheers, love, God bless you
