There are lots of languages that it does not speak out loud - just text, but still a good rudimentary system. I work in a nursing/rehab facility and it comes in very handy, although mostly for one-way communication, because its hard to get an elderly patient - especially one with dementia- to wait for the device to go into "listening" mode, before they begin speaking and they mumble alot. But being able to give basic info or directions to a patient is still helpful.
